    Close to tram.

Everything was old and a little bit broken. Reception desk was difficult to communicate with. The room check in delayed about an hour. We had to wait and ask several times if we could check in. Not really pleasant. No discount or apology was offered. Very overpriced.

The room was newly renovated and had views over the gardens

There was no AC. I wasn’t told this before arrival. Had I known this I would have cancelled and stayed elsewhere. I paid €750 for 3 nights in an unbearable hot room. I contacted the desk multiple times to request to have the AC fixed. On the second day I was told the new AC hadn’t been fitted yet. I contacted the property following my stay but didn’t hear anything back.

I was there for just one night. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The location is ok-ish given the fact that Gelsenkirchen is a small city. 15-minute walk from the city center is manageable.

The hotel is a bit old. The room is not clean enough, found hair on my bed sheet. Also strong room freshener smell when I checked in.

Staff at reception were really nice and helpful - especially the lady with the blonde hair - she’s was helpful, funny and welcoming! Our room on the 15th floor looked very nice, it had been recently refurbished and a kettle had been put in our room which was great - location good for transport to arena

No air conditioning- it was 30 degrees outside and with no air conditioning the room and whole hotel was so hot it was nearly unbearable- we did have a fan but that didn’t really help - we also left balcony door open which attracted wasps and didn’t help with lowering temperature, it’s a shame as the hotel has fantastic potential but no air conditioning is a huge let down especially after a Rammstein concert - we did find previous guest rubbish in the room but overall it was clean - getting room cleaned was hard - we only managed it once- having the sign out by 6am was not easy - breakfast was okay - no toaster which is odd but what was there was tasty

    Clean, comfortable room, nice beds

Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. Nice bar for a late drink. Good choice of breakfast. Room was comfortable.

Despite a fan being provided in the room it was still very hot.

We had to book last minute as we were let down by another provider. We arrived a little before 3pm but there was no questions asked and we were checked in straight away. The receptionist was incredibly helpful and all of the team were more than happy to help at any time, day or night.

The room was big and pretty decent. We had a huge private balcony to... stand on? There weren't seats but it was still nice to have. Breakfast was a lot better than I expected, although it was cold. You could choose from a buffet of more English-style breakfast items as well as cheeses, cold meats, etc. The coffee was great and unlimited! There was a really pretty park / lake outside. Great for taking photos and maybe a picnic.

We had to be at the Arena by 4PM and arrived at the hotel at around 14:30 to get ready and have some pre-drinks. (I was told check-in was at 2PM after filling in the registration form online and in advance). We got there and the receptionist told us that our room wasn't ready but that it would be ready in a few minutes. Our room was only ready at 15:30, so I had to do my makeup in the downstairs bathroom after paying €300 FOR ONE NIGHT for two people. (incl. breakfast and paid parking.)NO apologies were given. She smirked and said there was nothing she could do because it was a "busy day".In addition, our double room for a couple, had 2 separate single beds. They weren't even pushed together... So my boyfriend and I had to either sleep in separate beds like it was the 1800s or share a single bed like teenagers. Lastly, despite paying for breakfast and parking at reception when checking in, the system wasn't updated, so we weren't on the breakfast list and we weren't given a new parking ticket - causing just a bit more inconvenience to an already inconvenient stay.

    The people were really nice.

The place is like a relict from the 80s. The carpet hasn't been vacuumed since then as well, judging by the state of it. The tv had no connection to the Internet and no option to connect via Bluetooth to your phone either. The toilet was scary with Psycho lookalike shower and a cardboard underneath the sink instead of actual shelves. And of course... No airco ? I paid a lot as Taylor Swift was there but Jesus for this price it felt like I'm properly ripped off.

Very modern and the beds were extremely comfortable.

    No air conditioning

    6TatianaPosted on: 7-20-2024

The staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms were cleaned.

The A/C was not working due to some work being done. There is no phone in the room to call reception and no room service. The bar and restaurant closed at 23:00. There is no coffee or tea in the room, and no mini bar. Very limited food and snack at the reception. For almost 400€ a night, it is well below my expectations. The breakfast was ok, the food quality was poor. You have to hang a sign before 6am to get your room serviced, so if you forget... Too bad.

The room was very nice. The location was excellent.

Not having air conditioning was a bit of a disappointment. We are happy we could get a fan sent to our room.

    Clean and friendly

Price of rooms inflated for the euros

    8JohnPosted on: 7-16-2024

Breakfast buffet was extensive and a good start to the day. Our room was 14th floor corner with wrap around balcony and extensive views.

There was something wrong with the air conditioning which we informed the team about so we switched it off. This may sound crazy but the weather was so good that I actually slept out on the balcony and had a fabulous night's sleep.

All staff were fabulous and welcoming.Room was very large. The hotel bar is amazing in a very kitsch style, and the staff are awesome.

Hotel decor and room decor was quite dated.

    Big room and friendly staff

AC in the room doesn't work properly, making the room to hot.
