Pros +
- The breakfast and proximity to the Marina Dâ≢Arechi was very good.
- The property was well located with easy access to the highway, beautiful views, quiet, and easily accessible to the historical centre. It has plenty of free parking!
- The property entrance and sea view is beautiful and looks upscale. The rooms on the 2nd floor sea side are very nice and good size. We had a triple bed room. The cleaning staff were very kind
Cons -
- Spartan rooms. The photos do not represent reality. I felt like this was a religious convent. I havenâ≢t seen TV screens this small since the mid-50s.
- The property itself is about a fifteen minute drive to Salerno downtown. It’s a 28 euro taxi ride. Nothing around there. The beach apparently was closed for the season.. should have said that on the website. The breakfast was mediocre.. dirty plates, selection was minimal, service to replenish was slow, food seemed old, not what we expected for the price. First night fridge didn’t work.. we’re told it would be replaced next day.. never happened. 3rd and 4th night parties with loud music kept us up till 1 am.. called to complain and was told don’t speak English. Told them in Italian the next day and got sorry about the music. Had ants in our room from day one on the bed and floor. Killed most of them first day but second day complained when we saw more. Cleaning staff was prompt to reply and left us the ant killer. She was very kind. Overall not what I expected and very disappointed. No discount offered or any kind of compensation
- Property was on the beach but gate was locked for first part of visit and management indicated that beach was closed. Was opened later during our stay.

Staff in dining area as well as bar area were attentive and helpful.Hotel is within walking distance of local marina with great facilities.
Property was on the beach but gate was locked for first part of visit and management indicated that beach was closed. Was opened later during our stay.
the outside was perfect, breakfest was good!! Beach view awsome!!
The rooms couls be little more updated and modern but ovrall good rooms
The property is nice, the hotel common places like the restaurant or the beach are nice. The view from the balcony room was nice.
Both the two nights of our stay, there were private parties (the parties didn’t were offered for the hotel guests) in the hotel, with very loud music and a guy in a microphone screaming all night. We couldn’t rest well because the music sounded like it was inside our room. And when we wanted to make the complaint the staff didn’t seem to care much or didn’t even know what to do with our discomfort, didn’t even apologize for the inconvenient.
Stayed only for 1 night, booked 2 rooms for the full family. I appreciated that they secured rooms close to each other for my group. The rooms are spacious, they have a nice private beach with sunbeds and a lovely terrace to enjoy breakfast on. The property has 1 electrical car charging station for which you can request a card at the reception to activate (if you have your own cable/adaptor) for a flat rate of 55 euro/day which is crazy expensive, but very convenient to wake up to a full charge if driving electric. Communication on Booking app was very smooth.
The surrounding area is very depressing, with collapsed buildings and construction works. The room walls are incredibly thin, you hear every word from the corridor (with a dog we could barely sleep, as it was reacting to all the sounds) and the room balcony has no privacy whatsoever, there are just some metal bars separating it from the next room, so you are basically sharing the terrace with all other guests (even the ones on the other side). Bathrooms have an issue with water from the shower collecting on the floor with nowhere to drain, leaving a puddle in the middle. Toiletries were provided in sachets, not usable. Breakfast is basic, but both savory and sweet essentials (eggs, cheese, ham, yogurt, fruits), yet the coffee served is the worst I have had in all of Italy (coloured water), you need to request specifically espresso or capuccino to the waiter (to their credit, not charged extra).
Not so much - the beach is nice, some of the views are nice. And the restaurant and the bar is ok. We were early and they tried to find us a room, which wasn’t too difficult for them as the place was only half occupied.
It’s really old, far away from everything, and the reception staff is rude. They tried to charge us extra for the beach - after protesting this was resolved. Rooms insufficiently equipped, not even a coffee maker - for 150 euros, complete rip off.
Breakfast was alright it was usually the same selection every morning with a variety of pastries, yogurt, eggs, sausage and some light veggies and then you could order coffee from the waiters behind the bar which was great. Dinner was great at the resort and very speedy deliverySince the resort is a bit away from the city of Salerno you do have to travel in either by taxi or bus which concerige was very helpful with and prices were reasonable to get into the city and to the port to catch a ferry to amalfi. I think it was a good spot to be away from the busy city and have some peace and quiet with a private beach access. We did use the Marina Beach on our last day and it was perfect, the water was great and the restaurant on that beach had some amazing food! Highly recommend trying the spaghetti with clams
I wish breakfast could change a bit and offer more italian style selection of breakfast considering i saw many locals at the resort rather than tourists. I was a bit surprised that some of the waiters knew very limited English considering its a resort and advertised on Booking.com however we were able to communicate enough to understand what we neededOne of the days after visiting Pompei we were unable to grab food as it was a tour so when we got back to the resort a majority of food places including the resort lunch are closed after 2:30-3pm in preparation to reopen for dinner after 6pm so we had to order food and that took about 2 hours to get it delivered which was extremely frustrating.
Unsafe hotel entered my room without my permission while i'm in the room
The hotel is absolutely not safe, and the staff are disrespectful. They entered my room without my permission while I was inside.Although I had a 3-night reservation, I left the hotel and checked into another one.
Even though a room with a balcony could not be guaranteed at the time of booking, the St Joseph did give us one overlooking a beautiful beach. The staff was very helpful, particularly the restaurant staff. Comfortable room for very good value.
The rooms were decent and the dinner was good.
The surrounding area was not as expected or advertised. The accommodations themselves were okay, but the property seemed to be pretty run down and not regularly maintained, which is sad because this location has a lot of potential. The rooms were advertised as quiet and "soundproof," but this was far from the reality; it was very loud all night and I could hear every footstep down the hall. When we arrived, we were given keys to a room that was occupied, then we were given the keys to the wrong room, and finally, the 3rd room we got the keys to was ours. The room was okay, but outside was a lot of trash and just not pleasing views. The room was what it was for the price, but I'm not sure I'd stay here again without the place being more kept up and maintained. The beach was closed which was also a huge bummer. We ended up checking out early, even though we couldn't get refunded for the last night.
Breakfast: basic but good!Good restaurant
The private beach was still closed
I liked the view from the room and the big veranda
The room was to small for 4 persons
It’s a nice location.
The beach was not open. I took the beach resort for the beach so the kids were unhappy. Had an issue with not having an iron but that was resolved after some pull and push.
Generally very good, still needs a lot of updating
A bit old and tatty in places but work is on going, with an hour to go till the end of breakfast there was hardly any food left and had to ask for food to be brought out.
Terrible experience, the walls are from paper, there was some dog barking whole night, the hotel is falling apart, the furniture is damaged, shower in our bathroom had destroyed doors and our room was extremely smelly. They put some perfume to fix it but it was even worse. Staff speak English very poorly.
Perfect location next to the sea, very big and comfortable room, great Mediterranean breakfast
The room was clean. The location was very close to the marina.
The breakfast was very basic.
