Location to the beach
Staff and Food were OK!
It was winter with not much attractions around but anyway I was there for business.
The staff is extremely polite, they changed the sheets and towels every day, and the cleanliness is excellent. The food in the restaurant is wonderful and very tasty.
I didn’t like that it’s far from the city center, and the photos with the pool are misleading, as there is no pool on the hotel premises. The one shown in the photos is about a kilometer away on foot, and you have to pay an additional entrance fee to use it.
Nice french spreaking guy at front desk Nice staff, very pro with a nice smile
I do not understand what is going on with hot water.First time i saw that :impossible to hv a shower cause its so so hot, too hot ! incredible !
I had a wonderful stay at the Mediterranean Hotel. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the rooms are comfortable and spotless, and the location makes it easy to enjoy everything the area has to offer.A special mention goes to Gianluca, who truly made a difference during my stay. He was not only super nice and attentive, but also highly competent and professional. His helpful attitude and genuine kindness made me feel right at home.I would definitely recommend the Mediterranean Hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and memorable experience.
It was all great
The location was decent, bus links to get to Salerno central and for the ferries etc
This hotel was entirely inadequate. It quite frankly is just beds and a toilet. The bathroom is so outdated marks all in the tub, the drain is dirty, the tub leaks out the bottom when you shower, you have to bend for the shower as it’s not tall enough, there is no iron nor one you can borrow. The air conditioner would click off at night and then back on, there is no advertisement or information of the fact there is a fridge, we found out on the last day there was and you have to push it inwards to open it, we had no idea as it is not obvious at all. The sink splashes water everywhere when you open the tap, all onto the surrounding sink everywhere and the floor. The worst part was the fact they advertise a pool and when we asked they said there is no pool on site but a 1km walk away and you have to pay extra. Why advertise a pool? We booked for this. The beach is also around 15 min walk away and is nice, there is a private lido opposite but again extra charge for use of pool and beach. Honestly I did not enjoy this room and would never recommend this place or stay again.
View from balcony was nice.
The pillows were extremely uncomfortable and I wasn’t able to sleep the first night, like a sack filled with rocks. The photos are completely misleading, the pool is not theirs and the rooftop garden is locked off only the staff go outside to smoke and talk loudly that you can hear from your room. Wifi worked on and off. Can’t adjust air con it’s locked on a temperature. Shower flooded and the shower head was broken and had to keep pushing it back in so it would stay up. It’s far from anything and bus is unreliable so I don’t recommend unless you drive. There is no pay tv like advertised so again a lot of misleading info.No kettle in room and 2.5 euro for the water in mini fridge. There is a coffee machine near lifts that wasn’t even working the whole time so every day pay for coffee, quite a basic amenity in all hotels.
Passable
Very strange hotel, it was promised swimming pool while booking, at least there are pictures with nice swimming pool. But in reality the swimming pool is 1 km away and for additional cost. And at the same time there is another swimming pool just cross the street for cheaper price. So, we haven’t understood this trick…Also we were charged 5 EUR for water from minibar, which was very strange, because there was nothing else except water and usually the water is always free. First time I saw this in “4 star hotel”.Can’t recommend this place.
Reception was helpful. We had a sea view
It was old and dated. Had dead mozzie’s on the wall and cobwebs. I would have had a bath but the bath was yellow and looked dated. It said it had different bars in the hotel but non were open. The room was noisy from the road and loud air conditioning in the room. I found the bed very uncomfortable and breakfast was not very inspirational.
Very good room with balcony. Clean and very comfy.
The fridge was broken - light was on, but it wasn't cooling, which we noticed only in the morning.
Poor
Our Experience at Mediterranea Hotel & Convention CenterHaving traveled to many places around the world, I can usually tell when a hotel no longer lives up to the standards it claims. Unfortunately, our stay at the Mediterranea Hotel & Convention Center fell short of what you would expect from a 4-star property, and I believe the hotel is in need of serious restoration. We arrived from the Amalfi Coast after a magical trip, choosing this hotel for our final night to enjoy some peace before returning home. From the very entrance, the experience was disappointing. The staff were unfriendly, unwelcoming, and carried an air of arrogance. While our room had two separate beds—which wouldn’t have been a problem if everything else was handled with courtesy—it was far from comfortable. The room smelled strongly of chlorine, the towels felt unusable, and the air conditioning leaked water from the ceiling. For a hotel in this category, such conditions are unacceptable and call for immediate renovation.Breakfast was equally underwhelming, with nothing reflecting the authentic Italian food culture or vibe. One last incident during check-out left a particularly bad impression. We had placed three extra bottles of water in the minibar the night before. Late that evening, we accidentally opened one of the hotel’s bottles, thinking it was ours, as the bottles were identical. In the morning, when the receptionist asked about the water, we tried to explain the confusion. Instead of understanding, the response was unnecessarily rude and dismissive, despite the fact we had left several other bottles—already not opened—in the fridge. To be fair, both Amalfi and Salerno are filled with warm, friendly people and have a wonderful atmosphere. This made the hotel experience stand out even more as a stark contrast. In a truly well-managed and reputable hotel, guests should never be made to feel this way.
The room was spacious. I love the view. It was across from the beach so great location. The staff was nice.
The bathroom needs renovation because the bath was a rusty and the water pressure was low.
Handy to motorway and had own parking.Supermarket close by
Couldn’t access the beach easily. Pillows were terribly lumpy and thin and only one extra pillow in the cupboard for a double bed.Wifi was terrible Breakfast room was too big and spread out and did not have a cosy atmosphere. Food was ok.
The view from our room was stunning. Waking up to the beach and the mountain view was very rejuvenating.
The room itself is very basic. No iron, no coffee. The bare minimum amenities. Our room was very dusty too.
The location was good, out of town in a way, parking was okay.
The AC in the room didn’t really cool. The pictures of the hotelsARe false, as a human, you see a pool on the pictures but then when you ask to use the pool, they say “oh what you see in the picture is not our pool, it’s the property across, you can go and use it at a charge. It cost 15euros per person .The hotel has a link with J beack- 1km down the road and that cost 30 euros to get 2 sunbeds and an umbrella to use the beach, if you want to use the pool (which you won’t have access to including bar toilets etc) it’s an extra 35 euros for 2 sun beds and an umbrella. This really put a damper on our stay
Friendly staff and good accommodation
parking was difficult with a trailer and steep drive up to front door
