    • The view of the harbor was lovely (after we figured out how to raise the black out wall).
    • Very elegant building with great relaxing public spaces, large room with private deck and large bathroom.
    • This hotel was absolutely lovely! We had a private balcony, the staff took excellent care of us, and the room was clean, safe. Staff gave great recommendations on restaurants, knowledgeable, arranged travel. Free internet was included, the pool was nice.

    Cons -

    • No rooftop available for light snacks. A taxi was necessary to get to Salerno as walking was dangerous and difficult. The bathroom was odd with a glass door, a challenging shower, and towels hanging over the bidet :-(. The swimming pool was closed.
    • Poor location. Walking to town was fine, but the return trip requires 3 escalators with limited hours, then another 125 stairs to climb. Yes I counted them. Taxis are the other option.
    • The hotel location was a little removed from downtown. It is possible to walk, but there are very steep hills. Getting a taxi is pretty easy.

There was so little to say in a positive for this place. Please consider taking this place off your suggested places to stay.

First off - the owner was the nastiest, meanest person. She is mad at the world and actually yelled at us for ringing the bell to get in from the walk-up from the street. The rudeness continued with her staff. There were over 250 steps to maneuver down to the street level. There were escalators for some of the steps back up but then you had to ring a bell for them to open the back entry. That is where we were many times ringing the bell with no answer. And then you had to walk more steps and ramps that had many fallen oranges and they were very slippery to walk on. No coffee, no meals, no snacks unless you walked the steps down to the street. It definitely smelled like a cat peed through the inside of the place. (Outside cats that should have been kept outside). The shower leaked very bad. You were charged for every bottle of water, which we did not want to cart up the steep path back up the hill. Anyone with any mobility issues definitely could not stay here unless you ordered a cab every time you left the hotel. In the past, this probably was a nice place but it is tired and the owner does not help herself to tend to the customer. One afternoon when we were trying to take a little rest (after the walk up the hill from town), there was some kind of drilling right next to our room. When we complained, they told us that things had to get fixed. I agree but communicate with the customer, let us know this was going to take place. To add to this all, there was no internet. When we asked about this at the reception the answer given and I quote "oh I have internet".

The location, the staff and the parking, and the room.

The breakfast. Did not offer a buffet the first morning but did the second morning… don’t know why. The cost for breakfast was much too high for the breakfast offered to us. Coffee, croissant and two slices of cake.

The view. That's all--just the view.

It stunk like cats. For very good reason, they let outdoor cats inside the property. The staff was beyond rude, not helpful at all, inconsiderate, rude, never once made eye contact. The bed was if possible harder than a rock. The bathtub was rusty. In a four night stay, they never replaced the toilet paper. We had to ask for more each day. The location was awful. It was just off the highway. Traffic could be heard all night. It was not close to town at all. You had to take a path out beyond the hotel, five sets of staircase down, and an alley way to get to a street to get into town if you decided to walk. There was zero breakfast when their site clearly states there would be an ala carte breakfast. There was an 18 year old birthday party on our second night there and on our third night there was a 50 year old birthday party right in the room below us, neither of which we were made aware of before our stay or during our stay. I could go on with more issues, but you get my point.

Huge bathroom and shower. If you are okay to walk down steep steps to dinner in town. If you are not in shape, I suggest getting a cab to go to dinner in town. We loved the walk.

Very clean , helpful staff Francesco and Alexandra. Great value to stay.

Very spacious room. Close enough to the city center but quiet and tranquil. Unfortunately I was off season so the pool and escalator back up the hill was closed.

    Nothing much to like.

Bathroom was stinky and no shower gel. Staff was very rude and not helpful. They don’t understand English at all. We checked in at 11 in the night and checked out at 10 am charged 15€ for parking. Absolute rip off.

Pool wasn't mentioned to be out of season when booked for 25th of October, and also restaurant was closed and also not mentioned when booking prior to 2 weeks before, and when asked with staff pool was advised closed off season, but not mentioned with booking and pictures with booking.com are not the same when arrive to premises, leading us to leave early because not satisfied with accomodations as advertised with booking.com

The receptionist was polite and helpful. The room was spacious and had a balcony with a good view of the port. There was a payable parking which was helpful as we had a car. It was not in the center but it wasn't hard or far to get there without a car.

We were happy in general. The room was value for money and would recommend it to other travelers for a short stay. There is no restaurant or snacks at the property.

The WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. BE VERY CAREFUL with this place.

Please read: I slept in this hotel without pillows, without blankets, without air conditioning (there was no remote control) and the shower didn't get hot. They charged me for parking (illegal) and for the breakfast that was included I had to pay an extra 30 euros.

    3MarjaPosted on: 9-26-2024

    Car parking only

It is for one star hotel and I expected 4 stars

    7PeterPosted on: 9-22-2024

Views are nice. Staff is nice.

The hotel is on a busy road and its not that easy to get down to the city. The path is partly grown over.

    9JamesPosted on: 9-18-2024

Beautiful building. Friendly and helpful staff staff. Nice pool and amazing views. Handy free shuttle service to the centre, port or railway in the morning and afternoon. Fabulous room with balcony and table and chairs plus easy outdoor chairs overlooking the ports. Easy access to rail and sea trips to Capri, Pompei etc.

The many steps back up to the hotel from centre if walking back especially if the escalators not working. Not easy for elderly or people with mobility issues No food apart from breakfast but fridge in room and can order in from local places

    7DavidPosted on: 9-17-2024

Good staff - loved the shuttle bus to town ( needed )

Safe in room didn't work- no hot water for a day ( water was sorted next day )

    9LynnePosted on: 9-10-2024

Fabulous views from property and hotel was very elegant and beautiful.

Located at top of hill overlooking Salerno, difficult getting to and from property without the hotel shuttle which only operated 2 times in morning 8.30 and 9.30 and then mid afternoon and late evening. There was an escalator that came so far up hill but this wasn’t working part of time we were staying at hotel. Last bit of climb was very steep stairs! Meant getting around to go on trips you either left too early or had to hang around in afternoon evening or expensive taxis! Whilst this wouldn’t put us off as we are quite fit it would have been difficult if we had been less mobile. Also only breakfast , no other meals available!

A small stylish hotel and one of the few on the Almalfi coast with a pool which was a real bonus in the very hot weather. Great view over the town, port and Mediterranean. Great transport links from Salerno by train and boat to all the famous attractions, close to the old town with good range of restaurants. There is an escalator from the town to the hotel to help negotiate the hill top location and the hotel run a shuttle bus service at certain times. Salerno although lively, is not as busy with tourists as more famous towns which was a positive as other locations visited were packed.

    No restaurant .
