- No receptionist. Access codes not sent before 2pm. After many phone calls (eg 2 on hold "Please a message") finally accessed the hotel at 2:45pm. Foyer dirty/smelly. Room dodgy re cleanliness. Awful quality pillows. Only one plate/one spoon. And MORE...
- Everything - it was dirty, noisy, unwelcoming. We have stayed her many times in the past when it was run by on-site management, it was always clean and welcoming. Now it¿s revolting, we won¿t be going back.
- Damaged carpet in spots. Unclean bathroom and broken floor tiles and mould. curtains on slide door windows were too short off the floor. Frozen fridge (Milk on door was frozen)

shower pressure was non existant, bed mattress was not great and my feet were elevated above my head.
Booking was easy. The room was fairly clean. The amenities work fine.
The last day when I took the option to stay until 12:30, giving my credit card details for mentioned 45AUD, a lady called me asking for 5 dollar more and was telling me that I didn't give the full amount. I clarified that the online system mentioned about 45 dollars. She was kinda non-apologetic and repeated the same thing. At last, without saying "sorry" she kind of demanded the 5 dollar from me. So, we decided to go early instead. Also, the parking was very narrow. First come first serve, so we didn't get a fair spot on the next day as all the parking slots were already taken. Also, no service was attached with the offer like any other hotels. Rather we had to pay if we decided to take some service.
I stayed 2 nights which I booked separately. I booked the first night through Booking.Com at the advertised cost of $120/night. When I needed to extend I booked through the hotel website. On that website the cost in large letters was $120/night. So I paid for the room. I later noticed my card was charged $186.29. I looked again at the website and underneath the large font on $120 was tiny font with "plus taxes and fees of $66.29. I rang the number as there is noone on site at the hotel and they gave me a load of bullshit about how they had both been booked through Booking.com. After several conversations with them and having double checked with Booking.com and my credit card which says the payment was made to Tudor Hotels. I kept getting the same answer. Obviously their website is designed to fool less observant people into paying more than 50% of the advertised price. I will stick with Booking.com in future and never stay with Tudor Hotels again.
Being ripped off on the price of the room. The room looked reasonably clean and well appointed but the carpet was old and worn and dirty. However, the corridors stunk of cigarette smoke and the carpets were filthy and very unpleasant to walk through.
Location was suitable for our trip of an overnight short stay. Room was clean and had what we needed.
the stay was good the room was clean and the position was perfect right in the heart of Hamilton was the bonus of staying at the tudor
nothing stood out to me that i didnt like so i was happy with the stay i had at the tudor
It was within walking distance of the Hamilton train station and my meeting venue. Plenty of restaurants and coffee shops.Towels and linen were clean and plentiful.
The floor, in particular, was grubby.
The place need's too be condemned, mould/mildew smell was horrendous, swore you could see mould growing more overnight
Prompt refund, despite accommodation reporting us as a no show, following their errors.
Room not ready. Unwelcoming. We completed our check in online and received confirmation. On entering our room using codes provided in confirmation we found the room had not been cleaned, evident by the former guests wet towels on the bathroom floor. Not good
Basic room, comfortable bed. As expected for the price.
Very basic accommodation, not staffed.
was quiet and close to train station, main street of Hamilton with eateries etc was around the corner. Place was as expected.Reported the main light not working and it was fixed within 30 minutes. We did not experience the issues others had reported.
There were no plates, bowls or cutlery even though there was a microwave and fridge. Pillows were a bit hard.
Bad
Rooms are not as described, no front desk for customer service, call centre for any equiriesWould not recommend
Great location and loved the pub next door for dinner
No lifts for upper floors
Close to League Game, ok for a night stay.
Not great for young kids.
Location was decent.Carpark was handy, but too small, and not enough of them.Bed was comfortable and clean.
My word, where to start. We started off in one room that presented us with a mildew and stale cigarette like smell as we walked in - we had to double check we had picked a non-smoking hotel. The bathroom was ok, but it could really use a deep clean as it had mold and grime buildup inbetween the tiles in places. There were on occassion unsavoury types of people lurking in the car park. This same car park didn't quite offer enough car parks, so we had to park out in the street at times. This much we could handle... So far.As we accepted our fate given it was the Easter long weekend, we started unpacking our cold goods into the supplied fridge. That's when we saw the first one.Cockroaches.We killed 14 of them ourselves, mostly babies with a couple bigger ones.Grossed out, we messaged the hotel to see if we could change rooms. Remembering our stay was over Easter, so leaving wasn't really an option without spending a small fortune.Nothing could be done that day as the hotel was fully booked. And so began our night's watch as the sun set, and our new room mates began exploring. We did not sleep well that night. In the morning at around 11am, who we assume was the manager knocked on our door and wanted to check on the cockroach situation. In comically gross timing, a cockroach appeared from under the light switch right near him.Suffice to say, he moved us across the hall to a new room. The new room was smaller, and still had the stale smell old stained carpet has, but it was free of our previous night's companions. The following and last day, we were locked out of our room while packing the car. It turned out the system hadn't been updated for daylight savings ending, so it cut our access prematurely. Around 25 minutes and a few phonecalls later, we regained access to our belongings and could be on our way.Don't stay here. Spend a bit more and go somewhere else.
The location worked well for us. Close to our friends who live in the area and close to the beach and Newcastle city. The room had space to live with a sliding door onto a small balcony. No street noise although it was Good Friday so the pub next door was not open. May be a different case if the pub was open
Car parking was super tight for a medium sized car. We knew there was limited parking on site and lucky to get one. Check in was all done digitally, no face to face. Ok for us but not suitable for all guests. The building was very dated, carpet needs replacing throughout corridors and rooms. Could smell cigarette smoke on entry and from the rooms in the corridor on second floor. In our room (12) the queen bed was very soft, bathroom was dated with the shower head cracked and the toilet was not secured properly so when sitting down, it rocked! The toilet door didn’t close completely so the noisy fan that came on with the light could be heard in the room. The bar fridge hummed on and off through the night. I don’t usually leave negative reviews but these might be deal breakers for some travellers. After driving for 11.5hrs, we were tired so slept well.
Absolutely disgusting., hallways dirty , drug paraphernalia on floors , we did not stay after entering room , it was not safe and very dangerous, absolutely nothing like it was on the booking , I would appreciate being contacted further to get a refund
Apart from its convenient location. Overall, our stay was a terrible experience.
Terrible stay – health hazard and unsafe! Our room was in shocking condition: the carpet was damp, ripped, and had a strong musty smell. There was visible mould on the toilet floor, and unbelievably, a mushroom was growing in the room. My partner is asthmatic and had to spray his puffer twice due to the poor air quality—we had to keep the door open the entire stay just to ventilate. To make matters worse, one morning the cleaners had thrown laundry linen bags all over the stairs, completely blocking the fire exit and creating a serious tripping hazard. Absolutely unacceptable and unsafe for guests. Very disappointed. Please do not book here. Never again!
