It has a lovely colonial vibe, a little retro and romantic

The hotel is well-situated right in the center of White Town and a short walk to the beach. The staff was very accomodating and helpful in arranging excursions and activities. The room was very large.

We were asked to pay a higher rate than what we had booked. It was explained that this was due to the exchange rate. After a lengthy conversation with the receptionist, the manager intervened and suggested that we pay in local currency instead. We did, paying what Booking had quoted. It is a heritage hotel with no lobby. The restaurant/bar is in the courtyard and has strong ceiling fans, but no air-conditioning. We decided to have dinner somewhere else because of that. All in all we were very disappointed. It was highly over-priced -- our most expensive hotel in India (although it was over New Year's Eve) and our least favorite.

The hotel is very centrally located in the French area, “White Town” and the staff were absolutely amazing and friendly – they felt like family by the time we left Pondicherry. (A shout out to Stalin, our bartender, who was incredible).The restaurant is in the central courtyard of the building and was almost the best food we had in Pondicherry. (The very best place was La Villa, also owned by the owner of Villa Shanti).

The beds were harder than we liked.

The hotel was located in the Whitetown very close to the Rock Beach. The Terrace suite was decorated with taste and spacious enough for the 3 of us. It was clean and the food was delicious. Service with a smile - what more do you need ? The only minus could be the stairs you have to climb - for old people or people with some problem with their mobility this might be an issue.

The location, the food, the service and the room. They were very responsive right from the time of booking and very courteous. We booked a transport from Chennai airport to Pondicherry through them and even that was on time and a great ride.

Location is great, staff is very friendly, great breakfast by the courtyard, great menu for diner&bar. Room is simple but nicely done.

I personally didn't find the bed very comfortable and didnt like much the fact that the WC door opens towards the bed headboard (feels weird for the person sleeping on that side of the bed). AC made lots of noise.The outside noise can be a problem if one wants to call it an early night due to the music from the bar/restaurant downstairs. It stops at around 10.30-10.45PM.

We had a late check in but the staff accomodated us and asked the kitchen to stay open. That was terrific.The food was delicious- we had 2 breakfasts, 1 light dinner and a full dinner. I loved the layout of the room and especially the design of the shower.

Love this venue for its architecture and location . It’s right in the French district with great rooms and food .

It’s busy at night so it’s always worth booking a table for dinner at check in .

Took up the biggest room in the property. Didn’t feel it was upto the mark. Saw smaller rooms which seemed much better comfort wise and look wise. Would suggest to pick those. Also no room service in the property

Beautiful designed room, lovely employees, located in the center of White Town, great food. Because of the proposal of my son to his girlfriend they decorated their room beautiful and were almost as.exited as i was

Roomy, clean,courtyard, staff, breakfast, proximity to seashore

Crowded location, no parking in the hotel, lamp side lamp and socket was nit working, no sink in toilet.

The property has a very colonial vibe, the best part were the people… every single person in the restaurant and the reception went beyond to help and make our stay upmost comfortable! Will stay here again when I am in Pondi!

Rooms were quite basic for the price but hospitality was 200%!
