I did not get the room I booked. I got a very small room. No Tv, no wardrobe, no table or chairs. But had to pay the price of the bigger and better room..

The location and all the staff.

Booking.com provided wrong information regarding complementary one-way shuttle from the airport. The property categorically stated that it doesn't provide such a facility. Limited toiletries provided.

Location great - at the city center but away from the hustle and bustle of the center. Staff were very supportive, knowledgeable and friendly, willing to go the extra mile. That is the highlight.

There is room for improvement - not all rooms had TVs, not many options on existing TV. Some more toiletries could be provided. Bathrooms, although clean looked very old. One door didn't close properly although it didn't matter much as the area was covered. A little refurbishing could make this hotel beyond excellent... It has great staff and location. Little and more diverse toiletries could also be provided.

It's under renovation. There is no any facilities, dust everywhere, so many construction. No bed sheets ? no water bottles, no soap nothing it looks like a construction site

Checkin experience unfriendly, not welcoming, no hospitality or awareness to interact correctly or service oriented with human beings! The grumpy old man at reception was just interested in the money. I offered 200Rps because he had no change. The next morning for checkout he really asked if I could pay my room now. I told him that he would actually owe me still 200 and wished him well.I lived in Africa and lots of emerging countries and do not mind low budget hotel, modest homestays and do not expect a lot. BUT this place is not worth being called a Hotel.The place is under construction on the front side, great that you invest here! Going up to the rooms it is partly a construction ruin with dangerous stairs and steel parts, dirty dusty and badly maintained - I did experience this in slum areas or in camps close to Indian megacities - such hotels should just not be on booking due to extrem low standard and security issues.Rooms are moldy, linen and towels not dry cleaned - curry or blood coloring, really old. There's good hotels even cheaper with a much higher standard around.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff was helping me out whenever needed. They provided an excellent laundry service, too. The room was perfect, clean and quiet. The location of the hotel was perfect for me: close to the railway station, the temple and the beach.

The location

Almost everything, cleanliness was bad, aircon wasn't working, there were heaps of dirty stains on the mattresses and pillows, as well as sheets. There was a mini fridge that wasn't working, no functioning shower. Their advertisements and what I got was totally different. Please make sure to not blindly trust such a scam.

There were a lot of bad reviews so I was a little worried but we had a great experience. The staff was all very helpful and kind. Room was great for the price. Clean enough. There was a TV and a kettle too. They also have cycles that you can borrow for free.

It was great. And for this price, zero complaints.

Convenient location, near to many places, staff is good, we can check in even in midnight that's a huge benefit.

Rooms are not very clean, so dirty, AC remote batteries are severely damaged,AC doesn't work properly.No blankets provided.Rooms aren't that much private.The toilet needs serious repairs and renovation, it's very disgusting to use.

The location of Gnanams Hotel is one of its strongest points, offering convenient access to key spots in Jaffna. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience slightly better despite the issues with the room.

The state of the room was extremely disappointing. The walls had visible mold and stains, which gave an unclean and neglected feel. There was a persistent unpleasant odor that made the stay uncomfortable, and to make matters worse, the roof was leaking, which is unacceptable. These issues overshadowed the otherwise positive aspects of the property and made it hard to enjoy the stay. The rooms are in serious need of maintenance and cleaning to meet even basic standards.

I'm really thrilled that I chose to stay in this hotel. The room was good and there was Hot water and a mini fridge inside it . and it was clean .closer to town , jaffna market , main bus stand and railway station. It's really safe out there and the staff was really supportive and wonderful. i was a little worried about the negative comments and ratings but trust me worth the price and location

There was tv which wasn't working and the AC was not working properly but these are minor stuff which can be fixed .

Located right in the middle of the city thus it was very convenient to access and there was a good space for parking as well. The air conditioned room was spacious with 2 double beds and one single bed, comfortably accommodating 5 people. Washroom was okay in condition, with hot water, but I'd say don't expect luxury conditions.(It was more than enough for the price however) Breakfast tasted good but the options were limited.

The restaurant conditions were okay, but felt like there's room for improvement as well as could be better maintained. Room had few power sockets which is good, but half of them were old 5A round sockets. Felt like it is better if they could be replaced with new 13A ones or provide adapters.

I recently stayed at this hotel for one nights, and it was a wonderful experience. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city, making it convenient to get around. The staff members are incredibly kind and helpful, and the management team goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The rooms offer great value for the price—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area
