Wijenayake's - Beach Haven Guest House - Galle Fort

Welcoming hosts. Friendly staff. Lovely room. Everything worked including air-con. Quiet place. Great location in most interesting part of Galle near to good affordable restaurants. Arranged whale watch trip for me at reasonable price.

There was a person who worked there , can't remember the name of his , But Verry Kindly and supportive person , he was good at all the time and his service was exellent ... Totally it's good for us ... ?

Nice guest house in the very centre, though the street is busy, inside it is quiet. Restaurant and cosy balcony with street view. Very friendly and helping family and stuff. Good price& quality balance for short stay in the fort.

I understand that building is very old and hotel business is not easy at all. I would just suggest to put new and comfortable pillows in bed and new mosquito net - that would attract more guests. Anyway I'm thankful for my stay.

Good location at peddler street in Galle fort.

Wash room was not properly cleaned. Bad smell was coming from it. The washroom door lock broken. No enough Towles. Booked for two guests but there was only one towel that also was very old ,used one suitable to clean your feet not body or face. No soap, shampoo etc. If they do not provide they should mention it on booking platforms. Stated as wifi available but did not give password and the connection was not showing.

The location was good.

It was really unclean, the bathroom window didn't even have a glass. The shared spaces were dirty and the staff not helpful at all.

The rooms were clean. Bathrooms were clean too.

Upon arrival we were told they only had a twin bed instead of two singles, which we had booked. So they offered to take us of to another hotel they ran. There, we had to wait for almost 30 minutes until we got to our room in that hotel which was tucked away in a random alley. The staff was rather unprofessional throughout

I like this property's location, very close to Galle Lighthouse.

allocated room window broken, room is not clean even after our check in also not clean. They don't have enough staffs to run this property. Bathroom was very dirty and heavy bad smell, I have been much more small hotels but only this hotel was not cleaned. Bathroom door hasn't lock.

The place is located exactly in the center of Fort Galle and is very convenient for sightseeing and also close to the sea. The staff was very kind to accept my almost last minute request, and the room was clean. Despite being in the center I found the room very quiet.

I must say that I found myself very well but a tip is to put someone permanent at the reception otherwise there is nobody and you have to call them by phone

Only the location is good

This guest house is not upto any standards they are showing in the pictures. They didn't even know that they have guests to stay until we get there. Plugs are broken. We couldn't even charge our phones. Bathroom roofs are in the repairing stage and the room we got didn't have any mosquito nets and there were lots of mosquitoes inside the room. We had a family emergency back in Colombo and we had to come without spending atleast 2 hours in this guest house.but they refused to refund any money to us. We requested them to take half and give us atleast half as our money was in total waste. But they were not acting as any human beings and rejected to refund at least some amount. Do not waste your money and get cheated by the beautiful pictures they post online or booking.com , they are not even close to the reality.

If you are a traveller and are looking for a basic accommodation this is perfect. Same standard facalties as a hostel. Staff are great and is bang in the middle of the fort on the best street!
