    Pros +

    • Room comfortable. Lovely restaurant in the hotel. Good to be in the centre of Galle. Tax and service fee is included in the cost and not added on.
    • The old building and how they renovated it. It’s so beautiful and one of the prettiest hotels.
    • Located in a heritage building, the hotel has been really well re-furbished into a boutique hotel. The rooms are fantastic, and the layout and decor were really well executed. The location in Galle Fort is excellent.

    Cons -

    • The noise inside the room and outside makes it hard for you to sleep. Also, the mattresses are too soft.
    • Room layout and furnishings, along with art and photographs in the public areas.
    • We booked a specific room over a month in advance and confirmed on multiple occasions that the request was received and confirmed - however on the arrival date, we were put into a second floor unrequested room due to there ‘being a problem with the A/C’ in the Prefect’s Room. Despite that, no correspondence was received to alert us, so obviously on arrival there was no choice but to accept the other room. In the future, the reservation staff need to be better on the ball when faced with such issues. This is the second time we stayed there, and the reason was for the requested room, which was not available, so very disappointed as there were plenty of other options in the Galle area we were interested in.Wifi had to be requested since even on the second floor, was terrible - staff ended up providing a plugin unit/password for the room which did the job well, so commendations on staff helping out.

The food and beverages from the bar are all excellent as ever.Staff are very courteous and eager to assist at any time. The small courtyard is wonderful, especially if can book the Prefect’s Room.A historic extremely old building from colonial times which has been turned into a boutique hotel and has a wonderful nostalgic feeling - staying there is well recommended.

We loved everything about the Fort. A great central location, the cinnamon scented rooms were very spacious and comfortable, the pool was refreshing, delicious food and happy and helpful staff.

The wine selection didn’t match the quality of the property.

This was our second stop upon arrival in Sri Lanka, after a night and day in Colombo. It has been my and my daughter's top favorite hotel and stay, because mainly of its colonial and historical charm. A wonderful place, led by a female manager, which is to be underlined, a very nice lady. The staff is local, the attention to detail as well (!), the food and breakfast are super copious, generous and fresh, there is a nice à la carte menu, and the pool is wonderful. My daughter enjoyed it! We were lucky to be and visit Galle during the week-end, so we didn't feel the over-touristic crowd and atmosphere, since many Sri Lankan were strolling along the city walls, visiting. This is definitely a very touristic spot, the many shops attest this, but there are a few very nice and niche places. Stay min 2 nights, and if you can and want you may tour the nearby beaches and towns and wildlife reserves from there, this is possible. We've also enjoyed our train ride from Colombo to Galle, which is not too long and absolutely wonderful in the lush coastline greenery. We loved our room, its setup, the geometry and decoration of the hotel, the beautiful purple lotus flowers and the local touches everywhere. Chic. It pleased my eye every day!

It was a beautiful, heritage boutique hotel that lives up to that description. Beautiful relaxing rooms and the entire venue was a pleasure to walk around, friendly attentive staff and lovely restaurant with the best egg hoppers! Loved our stay and hope to be back one day. Thank you

location is spot on, breakfast v good. Staff superb

Dinner menu needs expanding but they are surrounded by restaurants so would be difficult to competeOut side area is very limited, there a is a small pool but given the location any expansion would be difficult and no doubt expensive

A lovely stay in a lovely hotel , breakfast was exceptional, staff delightful . Our room was a little noisy as there was building works going on next door ( But the hotel were very apologetic and compensated us , it was nothing to do with the hotel .) A lovely stay and right in the heart of things .

Very beautiful and stylish hotel, you can endlessly look at the do's and walk around the floors and grounds. The pool is our love, just what we needed on a hot afternoon. The staff is very friendly, the location is awesome! The breakfasts are delicious and varied

We stayed in the Prefects room, and As it is the oldest room, it has peculiarities: there is little light, stone floor, and the hotel does not give slippers and no carpets. I would have liked more cosiness and "warmth". Thankfully, the staff "got" us "illegal" bathrobes )

Lovely old property with nice rooms. The pool was a little bit dirty looking and there are only two chairs to sit on by the pool. Lovely restaurant with excellent food - unfortunately there were two roof leaks when we were there - it is an old property of course. Excellent location. Staff were not as nice as we encountered in other hotels. The manager however was very helpful and courteous.

The location and staff were lovely.

The pool was very small, with only 2 loungers which was totally inadequate and restaurant tables located around the pool was offputting for swimming. Getting into and out of the pool was difficult as no handrails. No mini fridge in the room was unusual with a shared kitchen/fridge. Had to rely on honesty of other guests not to drink your wine/beer which is not cheap in SL!!

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel and rooms were large and tastefully decorated. The location couldn't have been better - right in the centre of old Galle Fort. The breakfast was included, and it was one of the best we ate in Sri Lanka.

    10NicolaPosted on: 3-15-2025

The rooms were beautiful and the food was out of this world. Highly recommend the Sri Lankan breakfast. Beautifully decorated.

It is the perfect location in the old town of Galle. I was surprised by the spacious room, its comfort, and all the amenities. the staff is very hospitable as everywhere in Sri Lanka. The building itself is fascinating, and you can feel it by the ambience and wooden stairs and floors, very well renovated and looks quite esthetic. If stay in Galle again I'd stop over at the Fort Printers - and google the history of the building and the Fort :)

This is a lovely hotel in the centre of the Galle Fort area. Huge rooms with high ceilings. Helpful staff. We asked for a late check out as we had a late flight but they were fully booked. Nevertheless, we were able to shower at about 5pm in one of the rooms before it was occupied, which was very kind of the hotel. The food was also very good

    10LucyPosted on: 2-18-2025

Our stay at Fort Printers was unbelievable. The staff were incredibly attentive and kind - going out of their way to accommodate us the next day when we had to hang around waiting for our late flight - I couldn't thank them enough. The hotel is beautiful and decorated very stylishly. Our room was amazing - it was huge and was a perfect way to end our amazing holiday in Sri Lanka - I wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend!

Great big, clean, and modern room. The location is unbeatable, really close to all amenities and sights in Fort Galle.Really friendly staff. The pool, even though is fairly small.

For the price, I would have expected a larger breakfast. The bed was a bit too soft and could have used a headboard. Because of heading to an inside patio, the room was a bit dark.
