Regency Tuticorin by GRT Hotels

They renovated the place (I have been coming annually for ten years) and the quality of the room is now comparable to good middle-priced hotels in Europe or the US. The staff is exceedingly courteous and plentiful. I paid 3,900 rupees per night, which is a bargain for this level of comfort. Shout-out to the IT manager, who apparently is responsible for the music selection in the restaurant. 1960s pre-electric jazz!

What one saves for the room is then recaptured by the prices in the restaurant. They may be ok for a Radisson in Chennai or Mumbai but are way too high in Tuticorin, where I could get the same for half the price in town. 760 rupees for breakfast with filter coffee is shameful. My bill for meals for two full days came to 6,000 rupees, which is almost the cost of the room. And the food quality is ok, but not that great. The smile of the waitress though is. ;)

Everything it was not up to the mark, specially not up to the mark that it is by GRT hotels as I have stayed in their other properties. This is far from a good stay. The building looked more like a lodge rather than a standard hotel, also, it had lot of flies. Basically, the property was horrible.

It was a great experience. The hotel was very good, rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful and the food in the restaurant was awesome.

The facilities, Cleanliness and spacious room, staff all made a wonderful stay.

Location, though closer to the airport is far from city .

The hotel provided an excellent stay with outstanding amenities. The breakfast was delicious, complemented by 24-hour hot water availability. Quick and efficient room service added to the convenience. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night. Highly recommended for a pleasant and comfortable stay!

Good service from the staff. Table in room a bit outdated but overall room was clean and bed was good.

A excellent facility with well trained and warm staff. The quality of rooms, and food was outstanding. Had a wonderful stay, highly recommend. Remember Jesvin at the reception, always helpful and professional.

The bathroom is very bad with frost glass. It disturbs the sleep. There is no wall covering the restroom. The frost glass design is very bad. And there are people always working disturbs my sleep

The location was on a side street from a highway under construction. Nothing else in the area.

They charged more due to the marriage season. Room was small and seems so ordinary. Not a 3 star standard No good chairs for sitting & working or relaxing. Chairs were sleek & small. Uncomfortable to sit.They are charging a small amount as SERVICE CHARGE . They have mentioned in a small board in reception that if the guest doesn’t want to give service charge, it may be reversed . But when i asked to reverse, a manager like guy humbly told service charge couldn’t be reversed for a ONLINE BOOKING. Extreme Stupidity & Cheating because 90% of the booking are made online. They are extracting / cheating money from the guests compulsoryly . So i decided not to eat in the restaurant as they are charging service charge there also. I am an International traveller . No where in the world hotels charge like this . TOTAL CHEATING THOUGH THE AMOUNT IS SMALL. BUT THE PRINCIPLE IS WRONG .WON’T STAY IN GRT HOTELS ANYMORE.NOT RECOMMENDED FOR GENUINE GUESTS . Absolutely NOT VALUE FOR MONEY.

Renovation work at d end of our stay . Heavy drilling noise which was very much disturbing.

The attitude of all the staff and the ambience, the food and coffee were good.

The size of the room

Our flight was in the morning and there was no time for breakfast. Hotel arranged packed breakfast and delivered before check-out which was kind of them.

At the time of booking, it was clearly stated that payment will be done at the property in local currency. On reaching site, when I tried to pay the staff said, it is already paid. I thought my card was used only to block the booking and not to pay. It never happened anywhere with me, and this is the first time.

Staff were supportive and prompt. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Need to bring more variation on the breakfast buffet . We stayed there for 4 nights but the buffet spread was more or less the same.
