The Blue Water - Geoffrey Bawa Heritage Resort Hotel

Smelly room, not functioning kettle - no reaction from the staff.

The staff were friendly and most helpful in most of the time, except for one of the pool staff who wasn’t service oriented. The resort ambience was relaxing and had a good vibe, my family enjoyed it.They were considerate in setting up a bed for my son ahead of our arrival, which was nice of them.

The property’s location wasn’t ideal, with the beach being public had a certain audience of local people, also the building is old with black mold visible in one of the rooms we were offered, and the room facilities were old, such as the AC or tub.

The architecture and the design is very nice. All rooms are oriented towards the sea with a great view. Our room had a nice exit through the balcony directly to the pool. Had multiple restaurants/bars/cafes on the property to choose from. Beautiful surroundings and nature, amazing coconut trees. Staff is mostly friendly but not great service. Caution - this hotel has many wedding celebrations, and it can be beautiful but it is also noisy.

The first and most important part is withholding the information about the 33% tax on top of any bill in the hotel. We had multiple surprised with this and this is not acceptable. They had to be transparent with this as this is a huge tax and it adds up a lot on the bill.Second - service is quite slow and not great. Sometimes we had to ask multiple for a glass of water, and once some food in the buffet is over, they are not putting any effort to refill and if asked, again multiple times is needed. Third - Cleanliness is also a bit of an issue, they would come and clean or so it would look like, but we had dirty bloody linen from mosquitos two days, they just made the bed with the same linen two days in a row. Also, shower curtain is moldy at the bottom.

The property is well maintained The staff working there was exceptional

We had an incredible stay at the Blue Water hotel for our wedding in January, the service, food and hotel room were all excellent throughout our stay and the wedding event itself was absolutely magical! We owe a special thanks to a number of staff for going above and beyond during our stay-Shakila in guest relations for taking such good care of us and all of our guests staying at the hotel, including introducing wedding guests to one another. Ishani in guest relations and the hotel manager Mr De Alwis for providing exceptional support and reassurance during a medical emergency, ensuring that our family member got the swift medical attention they needed. And to Mr Kumara for his kindness in helping our friend after the wedding. Overall we had an unforgettable stay and look forward to returning!

Great breakfast and dinner. The pool is spacious with plenty of area to swim. Great design by world renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa. Spacious rooms with plenty of spaces within, which gives different experience. Always loves Geoffrey Bawas work.

Shortages like water / glasses / stationary in the room. Mini-bar was empty. Room service & food ordered from the bar takes a longtime. (Close to 2 hours in this instance)Staff couldn’t help me to get Panadol tablets to assist a lady in distress!!!

Comfortable, well run hotel. Any small issues we had were rectified in minutes.

Just the peaceful setting, Right on the beachfront. Miles of golden sandy beach to walk watching the sunset This is my fourth visit.

Some guest lighting up their cigarettes and vaping, in the lobby area and dining area. Spoiling the fresh sea breeze. I did bring this up with the management.

Good food, a huge pool, nice grounds, reasonably priced drinks, well maintained rooms. We had an excellent stay and were well looked after by all the staff from the moment Duminda welcomed us through to our departure. We will be back!

Tasty foods, calm and quite rooms larger pool , spacious garden area. Good beach view larger area for walking and staying.They have good gym facility. Additionally lot of water bodies at the property which is so relaxing combined with the garden.

Staff services at the buffet should be improved. Less attention to the customer needs at the buffet. There were lot of people for the buffet which they could not accommodate within the seating area. For breakfast and dinner there were no seats for us to sit inside and huge crowd was there than the number of seats in both occasions. No staff was served us water at the two occasion until we asked for. One time they cleaned our place and had let others to sit while we were serving food in the buffet. They have no knowledge of how to treating their guest at the buffet. If they cant provide service well for their guests, why are they allowing so much people to get in for the buffet.????????? They should 100% improve their customer service.Customer should be first irrespective of their nationality (local/foreign). Second thing : do not wait the arrange room until the guest arrives. Have them ready before the guest arrival without wasting guests time.

Beautiful location and excellent service. We are visiting from US and found everything to be at 5 star level. Food was excellent and staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.

Facilities and pool were amazing. Best massage my partner and I have ever had.

Bathrooms need upgrade in deluxe rooms especially considering price. Attention to detail in cleaning especially considering price.Proportions in cocktails and food inconsistent.

Excellent. Huge variety and very tasty food. All the staff at the hotel were very polite, friendly and helpful. Special thanks to all restaurant staff including managers( sorry for not mentioning all the names) , Lithara, who welcomed us and came to see us off, Srimal, taking time to take us on the Bawa tour

Huge hotel complex just on the beach. Great service food and entertainment. We stayed within the hotel complex for the 3 nights. Such a relaxing place and beautiful views of the beach and sea.Large rooms and great layout.Attentive professional staff.
