About
Welcome to Broome’s longest standing hospitality establishment. Our iconic hotel was founded back in 1890 as respite for the pearling crews and pioneer workers of the era, a tradition that we are proud to continue today. Our passion for entertaining locals and tourists alike is what gives us the kind of warm and special atmosphere that can only be found at the Roey. When you’re not busy exploring this beautiful town we have you covered with our extensive complex; including good quality accommodations, Pearlers Restaurant and Bar, Sports Bar and for the more lively crowds our outdoor music venue Oasis and our brand new Lounge Bar. You will find us in the heart of Broome, nestled in the center of the original Chinatown. Our unique location gives you access to the best of Broome just a stroll away from your doorstep. Browse luxury pearl shops, art galleries, restaurants, boutiques, book stores and even the world’s oldest open air picture house, Sun Cinema. When you feel like a beach day or the world famous camel ride you can take a five minute cab to the beautiful Cable Beach or hop on the local bus service from directly outside of Pearlers restaurant.

Pros +
- It was central to town and walking distance to shops
- Good location Friendly staffAirport pick upValue for Money
- Location is fantastic and an easy walk to shops, restaurants and pubs. Food is available at the restaurant, as is room service ... if it's just a short stay, I would recommend
Cons -
- It was very old and unkept We were bitten by sand flies which left welts all over us We were woken up every morning with aircraft just above us
- Room was ok but average: a bit tired
- I don't think this accommodation has changed over the past thirty years! I have been staying at the Roey for many years and the rooms are still the same - the musty smell is repugnant but obviously cannot be avoided due to condensation

Amazing staff, both girls at reception were so friendly and accommodating. Free shuttle bus to cable beach was great. Access to pool and pub/restaurant. Close walking distance to Coles, cafes, Chinatown, Matesos Brewery and Sun Pictures!
Rooms were basic but perfect for a few nights. My transfer from the airport was late but staff were deeply apologetic and gave me a bottle of wine as an apology and were so warm and accommodating for my stay! Pool water was warm which wasn’t great given the humidity!
Welcome from Camille at reception on check in was great - very warm helpful and all organized . Housekeeping team also great - nothing a bother Courtesy bus to the airport a nice touch too
The rooms are obviously dated but good value for money
The beds were comfortable
the toilet / shower old, door to toilet/shower didnt close, had to slam it close. kitchen area very old style.
all were great room was big dbl room location was down town broome and pool was A1 and cool on hot days
fridge in room was bit noisy but turned off for night was fine and fridge stayed cold
It was a good location
Mould on the bathroom door & on the bedding
Cracked sink
Too small expected big bond and disgusting room not good for my little boy. Health wise it was terrible. I did not stay but left and booked somewhere else.
Excellent location. Always great staff and great with airport pick up.
The pool was closed due to fallen trees which was a shame on a hot day in November.
The staff were very helpful and amenities were good
The sheets and bed were fresh but the rest of the room needed a good clean.
Close to town
The lock on the gate was faulty and it was difficult to get into the compound. They did not care about it at all and expected guests to put up with it. Terrible service and attitude.
Staff member at reception remembered me from my last stay. She was lovely, friendly, personable, helpful, and professional. Room was brilliant. Comfortable bed, and the facilities I needed. Located in Chinatown was perfect with easy access to shopping, the Visitor Centre, and the airport. Meal was delicious and delivered to my room. Excellent stay. Thank you.
Only because I have no arm strength - the sliding entry door was very heavy.
Easy to enjoy the Roey without the complication of driving
No towel racks, needs ceiling fans, really could do with a face lift
Close to town, nice having the pool, comfy bed
Finding staff to open the pool was a little tricky. Aircon was a bit rattley and everything is a bit old and tired
I had a bed to sleep in and shower and toilet and it was clean.Close to my meeting venue.Courteous and very helpful staff. Was very reasonably priced.
The surrounds were full of leaves and discarded paper. The gate into the complex was hard to open you had to juggle the key in and out until you found the correct position. Sometimes this took a while.Rooms need at least one bedside light.Need a secure carpark
The pool was an absolute godsend. It was cool and shady and had a lovely vibe. The staff at reception were very helpful and went above and beyond in assisting me with printing, faxing etc.
Although our room was perfectly clean, the areas around our room - balcony, stairs etc - were not.
My partner and I stayed for a couple of nights after traveling around aus and needed somewhere to pull up when we waited for flights home. Honestly it was perfect like year it’s a bit old and dated but for what we paid compared to other prices in town it was perfect. Comfortable beds after camping for weeks. Hot showers and bathroom was all u need. Aircon to get away from the heat and a pool to relax by all day. Heaps of cafes and restaurants down the road. Perfect location. Washer and dryer was perfect to wash all our dirty clothes and towels after weeks of nothing. Honestly couldn’t complain at all. The staff were great and helpful. Would definitely stay again
Building unsafe structural damage prevents sliding doors from being locked and unlocked. Guests should not have to hammer on the glass to get out
Being unsafe
Cheap and good location
Some overnight yelling & late night neighbours within motel.
