Pros +
- The location was fantastic, the rooms were clean and the staff were very helpful.
- I ended up in a room for 6, but only 2. Finally a kitchen = a place you can go in the middle of the night. Secured premises protected by fences.
- friendly staff and lots of space to relax in
Cons -
- The room being absolutely not cleaned. (walls and floor) and A.C. makes drops of water in a bucket every 3 seconds... That $100 deposit is a huge deterrent. It is suspicious to do it and I believe that many people are scared of it.. In my case, I postponed 3 times to get there just because that deposit.
- amenities need fixing and smelly rooms
- The rooms are horrible, the beds don't have a real mattress, they have a kind of super thin mattress so much so that you can feel the iron of the bed in the middle of your back. The air conditioning is so old that it leaks all day long. The kitchen is very small for the number of people in the hostel, and it is also super dirty and messy all the time.I stayed at another hostel in the area and it was truly a luxury compared to this one, and the price per week didn't change that much.

I didn't like it at all. It's the worst hostel I've been to in Australia.

1. Good receptionist service2. Close to town center/bars/cafe…etc
Mattress are inhumanly thin. It felt like I was snapped into half while laying down. The piece of iron beam of the bunk made my lower back and hip screamed pain whole night, yet I had to minimise twist and turn as I don’t wanna disturb others. Also I was told by roommates that they had to do the cleaning themselves when they had just moved in.
Really nice staff
$50 for a really shit old room
just the local
the room have never been cleaned in a long time.the was lot of smoke from the smoke detector and they had to shut down the room.not good at all.
The location is the best. Just in front of Chinatown and easy to access to everywhere.
I’ve never seen such a hostel where doesn’t provide lockers inside of the room. And the bed, mamma mia, you’re gonna be shrimp, so soft to your back and neck would be painful in the morning.
Great place to stay.staff are amazing.fun, safe and central location.
The location was good, very central. The staff in the reception was kind and helpful.
The rooms, kitchen and common areas were messy and unclean. Its a party hostel, so it is very loud day and night.

Very dirty Worst bed I've slept in 3 shower for 40 man
Overall I was very happy with the property. It was in a good location, and even though I was in a 10 bed room because the beds were separated by 3 walls it gave you more privacy which was really good. It also had a bar where you could get some lovely food and drinks. And the staff were so helpful and nice!!
The only real issue was the bed was super uncomfortable. It was so soft (lacked frame support I think), that my spine felt like it was curving inwards so I didn’t get much sleep. Other smaller issues were a lack of fridge space (they could do with an extra fridge and freezer. Or put mini fridges in the bigger rooms.), and the side draw next to the bed was broken. Other than that though was good.
The staff were very helpful, and the location is great. It's not for everyone, cause you have noise from bars in hotel till late but if you can deal with that, it's a great cheap bed.
Nothing ?
NA
The beds, having a bathroom on the second floor, better access to refrigeration in the kitchen. The WiFi didn't work.
Not much really
Uncomfortable bed no blanket, really noisy house guests , no air con in the room too hot could not sleep
Great location with plenty of options for places to go and see. Good atmosphere. Very lively and friendly people
Cleanliness
The location was the only positive thing I can say about this place. I guess it was pretty cheap. You get what you pay for.
Roey's is dirty, loud and falling apart. The rooms don't seem to get cleaned at all and we're really dirty with dust, dirt and hair occupying every corner. The kitchen was a disaster zone with leftover food left discarded on benches and the floor. And the outdoor areas were decorated with spatters of vomit. The place is in serious need of a handyman with the staircases falling apart and dripping taps everywhere.
Good location
Noisy, bunk beds were uncorfotable, matress too thin.
It was a good location in town with cafes so we didn’t have to use the dirty kitchen
The rooms were disgusting, there was dust everywhere and a build up on the fans so we couldn’t use that. The female bathrooms only had 2 functional toilets and cold water showers only, almost all the taps had something faulty with them. The outdoor area/bbq area was falling apart and the bbq didn’t look like they worked. The kitchen area was disgusting and we ended up not using all of the utensils. It said there was a pool but you had to walk over to the motel side and if the gate was locked you had to ask reception to let you in. Also there were bones in the pool so it was obvious it wasn’t maintained/ cleaned often. The mattress were so thin we were basically sleeping on the metal frame of the bed.
Central
Unclean, men sleeping with woman in woman'sDorm woke up to man in single bunk bed with a woman not secure
