Smokers outside and near our unit and smoke smell coming into our room even with the door and windows closed

Location and close to eateries and shops.

The shower in our room only had a shower curtain and completely wet the bathroom floor!

Location to Cessnock CBD, a pub next door for dinner, clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff, well priced

Curtains did not close properly, water leaks in the bathroom, lots of dust on furniture, only 1 spare toilet roll

The only things which are good abt Aussie Rest Motel are 1) its location 2) the fact that it is not expensive 3) pre-payment is not required.

Other than that, I can't see any advantages. I booked Deluxe King Room. The reality was very far from anything like that. The room definitely didn't look like Deluxe. It was quite shabby, the bedside tables were scratched, the carpeting was worn out, the shower wasn't in good condition either - the grouting looked awful and very messy, the ventilation duct on the ceiling was very dirty and dusty as if no one cleaned it for ages. The water pipes were probably so old that they were making quite a loud sound. The windows were so bad and thin that the sound proofing was almost nil. It took the reception years to find my booking in their system for some reason which raises a question of communication between Booking.com and the property. We had to find another room for night No 2 in Hunter Valley. I didn't want to stay in Aussie Rest Motel for another night. We booked another motel which was just a bit more expensive but much better although similar to Aussie Rest Motel in its structure and configuration which makes me think that we were not given a Deluxe King room in Aussie Rest Motel. It was definitely some other room of a lower class. I also didn't like the fact that Booking,com didn't mention that you have to pay a surcharge if paying by card at the property. The property needs a refurbishment 100%. It's no good that there's misinformation and customer are deceived by showing them nice pictures online which do not meet the reality. I was surprised by so many good reviews. Either they are too old or the customers were given better rooms.

Clean and comfortable room (we had number 20)

If I had to nitpick, the fan in the bathroom was in an odd position (over the toilet instead of over the shower? and I doubt it was working (could barely hear any fan noise) but otherwise it was all as expected.

The motel was spectacular with amazing staff who provided great information for around the area. Room was comfortable with all being fullfilled.

Beds were comfortable. And water pressure and heat was good and consistent.

For a family room there was very little bench space and except a teaspoon there was no utensils to prepare healthy nutritious meals and fruits and snacksPlus finding multiple fine small pieces of wire throughout the room hidden in the carpet of which unfortunately I located with my bare feet but thanking my child did not.

It was nice and clean with comfortable beds. Very nice people. Perfect for our overnight stay! Thanks

The hotel room was nonetheless great. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend to friend

The bathroom was very small. The shower was good however, the shower door was a bit tight to fit through. The bathroom door opened out. To give a bit more space, it would have been a lot better to have a sliding door. That would also cause another problem of removing the towel rack and clothes hooks.

Nothing to like about it.

Everything was broken including the main door, Shower, tv remote.and what else.Cleanliness on nothing. Windows accumulated dust from ages and curtains were too dusty. Mobile fell through behind the bed and when I moved the bed found a heap of dust. I'm surprised to see the front door lock was broken from inside which would take a big fight to get the door unlocked from inside. A huge security issue on emergency no one could get out of the room in time.Decent size bathroom, which is the only positive side.

Really disappointed.

As mentioned while booking about the facilities provided, there was no proper management of barbecue areas and tools provided, the swimming was dirty as we found dead birds in water, the washroom was really terrible and the air conditioning wasn’t working properly.

It looked okay and the beds were comfortable.

Under the bed was disgusting. There was so much neglect, empty milk container, packet chips.

The room cost was economical. The interior of the room presented well.

There was no PowerPoint for 2nd lamp & hence our 2nd Sleep Apnoea machine. The framed pictures need a good dust- the recessed lighting on the wall, highlighted the dust. The room space & bathroom a bit tight but economical.

The bathroom blind was broken, slat missing and dirty.The bathroom ledge was filthy the shower was old and mouldy. Vents were filthy. Power points and ledges in room were filthy.

Nice rooms, great location, kid friendly. Friendly staff. I arrived earlier than expected and the staff were more than happy to give me the room key so I could go straight on in.

Very good size room (king). Clean and comfortable.

Road outside was a little noisy. No plates or cutlery anvailable although there was a toaster and kettle and a table at which to have breakfast.

The owners were very helpful and friendly.The bed was comfortable and enormous.

Room was dusty, many curtain hooks were broken, seats were stained by previous guests.
