    Pros +

    • Beautiful styled small Lodges in a beautiful surrounding! We absolutely loved it!! Very friendly staff and helpful in finding us a nice place for dinner
    • We only stayed one night at Hermitage Lodge in the Hunter Valley, but it was truly memorable from start to finish! The property is absolutely peaceful, quiet, and beautiful! The perfect escape to relax and recharge.Everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained, creating such a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. What made our stay extra special was the incredibly thoughtful gesture from the property, a gift of my mum's favourite chocolates to celebrate her birthday. It was such a warm and personal touch that really made her feel valued and appreciated. Little details like that make all the difference! We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene and charming getaway in the Hunter Valley. We hope to be back for longer next time!
    • Everything about this place was great. The restaurant was magnificent. The cabins were so cute and cosy.

    Cons -

    • When you went out on your balcony out the back the screen between each one was not enough to screen you from the people next to you.
    • We were not informed that the onsite restaurant was closed the whole 3 days we were there, which was a shame as we were not informed. So required driving to other restaurants in the area.
    • It's an odd thing to complain about but the beds were almost too soft! Perhaps it was just our old backs that were the problem :)

    Location and outside pool

We were only there for one night but it was very comfortable. The little balcony looking out over the vines was perfect. Peaceful and quiet.

It's an odd thing to complain about but the beds were almost too soft! Perhaps it was just our old backs that were the problem :)

Great location, under 10 mins drive to most of the popular cellar doors, restaurants and Hunter Valley Gardens. Lovely, quiet pool. Reception very helpful.

Mattress very soft, could do with replacing

    10SophiePosted on: 2-4-2026

The property was clean, modern and had a beautiful view of the vineyards

A little bit of luxury in the heart of Hunter Valley. Great staff. Lovely to have access to a pool.

    I liked everything

    9AlanPosted on: 1-30-2026

The rooms at Hermitage Lodge are a really good size with a comfortable bed a couple of chairs and a balcony overlooking the vines. We wish we'd eaten at the restaurant on-site since everything else is a drive away.

I'd suggest changing the bulbs in the bathrooms from cold light to warm - the one's they're using make the bathrooms a cold and uninviting place, even though they're not badly appointed.

The rooms were arranged so private and not overlooked. Room was clean and well equipped. Pescara restaurant was excellent .

Bugs lots of mosquitoes in evening but room was equipped with bug spray and screen so clearly they are trying to ease the itch

Overall experience was very nice. However prior to booking I requested one of their nicer rooms as we were celebrating our engagement and upon arrival reception dismissed this request by stating that they only have this room available and did not even know about the request. However it did not ruin our stay and we still enjoyed our time with the winery recommendations she made.

Lack of communication with the online request to make it a romantic and memorable getaway rather than just a usual staycation. We were given the room just next to reception which made it a bit noisy

The onsite restaurant was absolutely amazing. An absolute idyllic place to stay. Would love to go back. Having the guest laundry facilities was a godsend, Got all my washing done before I left and as we were moving around alot it really helped.

Would highly recommend as throughly enjoyed our stay here. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and given useful ideas about where to eat and where to go wine tasting.A lovely lodge room with outdoor and indoor seating, well equipped for a several night stay. Super location for turing the Hunter Valley and walking distance of the neighbouring vineyard which offers tasting sessions.

    10LorenzoPosted on: 1-23-2026

The cottages are very cozy, and the location is peaceful and well-situated for wine tasting experiences

    7GregPosted on: 1-21-2026

Great location, very comfortable bed. Clean.

The prepaid breakfast was not great. Left in room day before, no choice, english muffin and muslei and yogurt. Too bad if you don't like that.

    8JustinePosted on: 1-20-2026

Clean room. Very comfortable bed. Nice view over vines. Nice little pool

A bit close to the road - especially the pool.Bathroom a little dated.

    9NancyduongPosted on: 1-18-2026

The staff were wonderful and helpful and the location was perfect! The room was spacious, beautiful and clean, views were amazing from our room, definitely would stay again

The walls are quite thin, can hear our neighbours clearly and the back "porch" area is connected to neighbouring rooms so awkward when sharing the backyard space to relax in

    9MaschkePosted on: 1-17-2026

Really quiet and safe, beautiful location with everything close by. Interiors were safe and well stocked. Clean and bright. A cosy home away from home.

    Can't think of anything.

Extremely spacious and super clean, with a lovely view overlooking the vineyard. Ideal location for exploring the Hunter Valley.
