Forstay Motel

Very close to the beach and walks. Great location. Cant fault where this hotel is located. On site parking.

Needs quite a bit of TLC. Leaking toilet, shower, basin. Noisy fridge. A good clean wouldnt go astray. But, a decent size for a single room. Plus, no wifi internet, so had to go to the library.

Compared to our previous Motel in Coffs this place was on a different level, and $30 a night cheaper. Clean and tidy, friendly owners and very central for Forster, which was lovely. Highly recommended.

It;s a Motel. Not high end. Good value for money in a convenient location, could hear some outside noise from the other guests and traffic.

The cleanliness and location

The size of the room. I have serious doubts it measured the stated dimensions. 2 people had next to no room to move about.

Location was great for us as we needed a quick stop and was close to main street and beach. Check in was easy and attendant seemed helpful.

The bathroom was mouldy; there was no ventilation except a window to the entrance so couldn't be opened as it looked right into the toilet. The shower was leaking and sprayed freezing water on you as you showered so this wasn'tt particularly pleasant .

Room parking didn't exist. First in best dressed. Shower had mould in it and tiles cracked and require replacing. Water in shower tricky, had to juggle heat control. If you didn't have the cold on, the hot would only trickle out. Some of the light switches didn't work, same with some power points. There was what was once the spa in our room, covered over, pretty much doing nothing except being somewhere to put your luggage and items on

The location was convenient

We stayed in a family room and it was a strange layout, where the second bedroom had no door, and the window had no fly screen and opened up to an outdoor communal sink. There was a plate of ground coffee in the bedroom, presumably to mask smells.

Walking distance to shops, cafes. Room was spotless! Ideal for single traveller. Can’t hear a lot of road noise. And can l say again, it was super clean! Two extra pillows for the bed, which was quite comfy.

We booked a standard double room, and it was very very small. Perfect for a single traveller, not so good for a couple with luggage. (Think Parisian sized). Made the toaster etc difficult to use as there is very limited space. Also one side of the double bed is up against the side of a built in cupboard, which is squishy.You can’t hear a lot of road noise which is good, but you can hear noise from the other rooms, sneezing, showering, toilets flushing, doors closing and talking.

Location was perfect to beaches and restaurants

The property came with a spa bath, which we thought perfect for our getaway! Then told after we asked about the spa, that it had been disconnected! We were never told that the bath could not be used as an ordinary bath and water leaked everywhere! Short staffed so no housekeeping was completed. One key only provided, so could not keep a/c running while we were out for dinner. Back door could not be unlocked, so potential fire could be devastating if needing to exit the unit! No pool, no other facilities
