The Woolpack Hotel

The location of the hotel was great!! The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were great.

Beautiful and spacious room.

Although we were told of crowd noise we didn¿t think it would be as loud and until 2 am in the morning. It was a Friday night and people were out celebrating.

Location and price

Shower pressure was bad and hard to adjust the temperature

A clean, comfortable bedroom and ensuite at a reasonable price. Friendly staff.

Bit shabby, felt more like a hostel than a hotel.

Location was excellent for walking around the town. Near parks and gardens and the small gallery. Bed was comfortable, room was quite and had good lighting. There is live music on the weekend until 2am, they do warn you about it but luckily I was there early in the week so didn't experience it.

Ensuite bathroom was definitely showing its age. Tiles were newly grouted but the fittings like shower head and curtain rail were past the use by date and showing signs of rust. I was only there one night so not a problem, but that shower head needs attention.

The accommodation was clean with plenty of room to move around the bed. The bar area was great and the food was great.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like

The accommodation is nice and central and was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful on arrival showing me the room and facilities. In terms of value for money, it was OK. Handy to other areas restaurants etc.

The Wi-Fi had different options, and it would be better if they had the actual Wi-Fi code for the guests in the room. There were multiple options and I could not connect until I went down to the bar, but that connection was not available in the room.

They provided ear plugs to block out noise. Great location

Shared bathrooom and other facilities need work. Lack of privacy. Sloping floors. Noise level.

The pillows were not the most comfortable

The bed was comfortable and the unit was very clean. As much as everyone else complains about the noise, I really didn't hear it much at all. Definitely didn't keep me awake or bother me. The property provided earplugs but they weren't needed.

On what can only be described as the hottest day ever (42 degrees!)... the air con didn't work well at all. It cooled the room slightly but I had it on 16 degrees and was still extremely hot with no window that I could open (that didn't open into the common hallway). I slept on top of the covers.

Lovely freindly hotel, staff helpful. Exceĺlent chinese on site.

In the heart of town

Air con struggled in the heat door lock needs attention

Property excellent location.

The flat room needs refurbishing, fresh coat of paint would be great. Aircon needs servicing to work more efficiently. Fan in bedroom would be fantastic.

Close to everything, comfortable beds, air con, friendly staff, great price.

Bathroom needs updating

The room location was great and the live music wasn't very audible. Great location, easy access to nearby shops.

Floor boards were a bit of a headache, TV had 0 channels, more milk in the room for teas/coffee would be great.

Staff were very friendly

My room was directly above the audio speakers and once the dj started, the basd was so loud, my bedside glass of water had shock waves! I asked to be moved, but the was only a room with a bed and nothing elsd. It was NYE so i shouldnt have stayed at a pub! Dj finished at 2am

Great location in the centre of town.

It does get noisy with the pub patrons so if you’re a light sleeper then suggest you ask for a room towards the back end.

Good busy hotel, good food excellent location

All good for the price. It’s a pub.. we like staying in pubs!

The location was excellent, the rooms were spacious, the common area and kitchenette were great
