    Pros +

    • Room is big
    • Clean room/bathroom apart from needing a good dusting. Great to have a little kitchenette.
    • Washer/dryer in room; we’ll located

    Cons -

    • Out of the sinks (all of them) came a very bad smell which made the whole bathroom not usable. After our claim at the reception, nothing happened and even our e-mails afterwards have not been answered... very poor experience!
    • TV package (limited offerings). Tight parking spots
    • Sadly the negatives out way the positives in this accommodation. The pictures online are not a good representation for the fact that Quest Taupo feels old, and neglected. The gardens need some serious work and while this may not be a focus for many it certainly detracts from first impressions when arriving. The room was cleanish, the wall under the heat pump had water stains from - one assumes - when it has leaked in the past. The shelf in the bathroom was broken and the bed had the 'hammock' feel which never helps with a good nights sleep. Overall disappointing as I have stayed in many Quests throughout the country over the past months and this has not been my experience at other Quest locations.

I loved the location, off the main road and a short walk to town. Made going out for dinner or shopping in Taupo a breeze as I could just walk there and did not need to find a parking. The gentlemen who checked us in was welcoming and made the check in process simple.

Room was a good size but looked out over the carpark and most of the people staying were from a contractors who got up and left between 5am and 6.30am.

The furniture was shabby, the bed was lumpy and the pillows were poor. A bit too far out of Taupo town.

Simple easy accommodation with all amenities

Bit on the quiet side of Taupo

    8EileenPosted on: 7-14-2025

    room was clean and comfortable

The toilet was leaking, and the roof had a water dripping sound that was constant.

    8Sachin A.Posted on: 7-10-2025

The rooms were self contained with all the necessary items.

The room was clean but had a bad odour probably coming from the grates in the bathroom. Room #207. This needs to be fixed

Good location and very comfortable accommodations Very friendly staff.

Indian was excellent in addressing every need quickly and with a warm disposition.

The price paid for the room, its inclusions, etc was way too high. $140 more expensive than Movenpick Wellington and there is no comparison with the hotel and quality!Booking wasn’t accurate either.

Location is great, close to town.

Just would of liked an opening window. Room stuffy but aircon is noisy and just fresh air is so much nicer

    6HayleyPosted on: 4-26-2025

    Quiet

My bed was two single beds one side had a massive dip so the other side was way higher. I checked in after reception closed so had a lock box which was fine but there was no milk in room for a cuppa tea. Shower was dirty with hair on walls so I had to clean it before I used it.

Bed very comfortable, room 209 has an excellent view of the lake.

Washing machine didn't work, turned on ok but failed to fill or wash.

    6MarkPosted on: 4-25-2025

    Location is great

Must’ve been cleaned in a hurry as there was a half chewed biscuit (presumably from a small child) under the table and another tucked down the side of one of the chairs

    8HilaryPosted on: 4-25-2025

Easy walk into town and to lake, very convenient.

No opening windows which made it a bit claustrophobic.Shower soap dispensers are useless and very poorly designed.

    4DarrylPosted on: 4-23-2025

    Was quite

Rooms were not serviced on public holidays. The person at front desk on check in and check out hardly spoke or smiled.

    4KerriePosted on: 4-20-2025

Allowed early checkin which was fantastic

Room 214. Sheets had not been changed from previous guests. Dirty stain on them which was absolutely disgusting. Too late at night getting into bed to contact reception to notify them. Very hard uncomfortable bed. Massive cockroach on wall. Fridge constantly made an unusual noise which was hard to sleep through. Not good enough for the high price charged for room.

    6NeilPosted on: 4-19-2025

Location ok and parking easy,Rooms spacious enough.

No fresh milk decor fair TV too small

    10NickPosted on: 4-19-2025

Very comfortable rooms, well appointed fully self-contained, cooking facilities, washer and dryer everything in very good condition, easy walking distance to town!

Nothing to be honest, only one small thing there is not a great variety of programs on TV!

Good sized unit. Quiet location. Good night's sleep.
