Far away from room to bathroom

The staff was helpful, flexible, and accommodating. The history of the hotel was a plus.

Location was excellent for access to caves and place for dinner. Apartments were clean and beds comfortable.

Chalets look a little tired now.

Incredibly clean and very close to the glow worm caves. Friendly check-in; easy and free parking. Terrific value for the price.

Basic room but great value for the price.

Offered us free loaner towels for our caving experience to avoid rental fees. Breakfast was inexpensive and sufficient. Very nice people, explained the area and attractions well.

Loved being close to the glow worm caves!

Getting dinner past 7 PM was impossible anywhere in the town. We had to have crackers from our flight the first night and then drive to the next town over and eat at a McDonalds (not my favorite) the next night.

Moderately clean and had free parking

Very basic accommodation and difficult to find rooms as there are numerous bungalows

Communal kitchen was useful. Basic room for our one night stopover to see the caves. Lots of good information provided at check in.

The location and rooms were great. It was close to all facilities and activities. The country feel was nice.

The buildings perhaps need some renovation but inside the rooms was totally OK.

Everything was older, more utilitarian and worn than we expected. It was clean but had a bit of an old musty smell. Bedding was clean and more updated, chairs outside old and faded and more like a clinic’s chairs, as it was just a quick stopover it worked fine.

Problem with hot water, after two people no warm water at all! Bad cleaning

Beautiful location and comfortable beds.

Quite cold inside, bathroom was a ways away from our room.

The chalets were close to the Glowworm caves and easy to find. The host even gave us towels to take to the rafting experience. The food recommendation was great as well.

The shower was ok and the walls are a bit thin.

They were super chill about me using their facility until my bus came in the arvo

Breakfast didn't suit us, as we needed gluten free. We found a cafe for breakfast.

Peaceful environment

Would install a vending machine to sell water bottles and snacks, as we arrived late at night and everything was closed

The location is quiet and isolated. Feels more like a dormitory than a hotel, brought back memory about church camp

The room is very outdated, the bathroom is like a hospital bathroom, the room is very dark there's no tables only one chair, no sofa to sit on.The empty lodge atmosphere feels eary and lifeless.

Location was brilliant. Cheap and friendly cafe 2 minutes away with good food. Waitomo glowworm caves 5 mins by car, really worth seeing.

We were a lower cabin but the noise from the above cabin from the creaking floorboards when the guests were walking around was very loud.

we got a bed that's basically what it was, no TV no extras, very clean and tidy tea n coffee.
