Connells Motel & Serviced Apartments

The beds were comfortable and the blinds were very very good at blocking out the sun. The staff were lovely to, our room was missing a remote for the tv, which they provided one for us when we asked for it.

We ended up getting a remote, but the sound on the tv didn't work. We could turn the volume up and down but there was no actual sound output. About half hour after we arrived, there was someone outside the rooms running around, screaming, banging on doors and revving their motorbike. It wasn't the staffs fault, but was very disrupting and made me nervous

Nothing - this was a real shocker.

This is up there with one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. The road traffic noise was horrendous, with constant trucks passing by the hotel, we felt like we were sleeping in a bus shelter and didn't get a wink of sleep. The iron provided didn't work and there was no ironing board. The hot water took at least 10 mins to come on. The heater wasn't great, so we needed extra bedding to keep warm. There was no place to hang our clothes. There is a sign on the wall advising guests that if they want to reduce noise - press button and shutters will come down - buttons don't work, and there are no shutters. We thought we might have been in a comedy show - if it wasn't true, it would be hilarious, but truly this is not a joke. The people who own/manage this place might be ok people, we didn't have any engagement with them, other than check-in, but truly they should not keep this place operating. The place needs updating and there seems to be no consideration for their guest's level of comfort and if visiting for work reasons - a need to get a decent night sleep.

Easy check in after hours. Clean, tidy and had everything I needed. Shutters were good at keeping out the road noise.

They still use top sheets and blankets, we have stayed at motels (same budget level of accommodation) and they use top sheets and Doonas (our personal preference).
