Ashton Motel

Spacious room that was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Thoughtful inclusions such as cutlery, decent crockery and microwave for warming up food purchases if desired. In room information guide very helpful. Inclusion of light breakfast a nice touch and almost homage to the old-school room service via the breakfast hutches that are still evident from the 1950’s or 1960’s. Hosts very welcoming and attentive - good source of local knowledge. Motel very central to main part of town centre.

Ability to maneuver out of parking spaces a bit tight, especially with the tendency for guests to bring very large 4WD vehicles. (Got around issue by reversing carefully and driving further into premises to turn around where there were empty spaces and a bit more turning area.)

Great place; room very comfortable and an exceptionally clean bathroom. I'd stay here again. Staff very friendly and helpful as well. The bed was great.

Parking a bit difficult: so many 4WDS.

The onsite managers were a delight. Incredibly friendly and warm. The location was perfect for walking to everything in and around town; coffee, dinner, groceries. Also, an easy stroll to the river for a walk/ run.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless (especially the bathroom). The staff were very friendly and gave us a small breakfast package when we arrived. The location was excellent and only a few metres from the main shops. I would definitely recommend this motel.

What a fabulous location in Tumut!! Upon arrival, the reception staff handed over breakfast supplies including fresh milk, cereal, juice and fruit The managers were kind enough to upgrade the room from the basic room I booked, which was unexpected and very much appreciated. Our large room had a sink and a bathtub. The bed was super comfortable and the shower pressure was fabulous. The location of the motel is in the main street with all the shops, including pubs and restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance.

Owner knocking on out door saying he had a phone call on his business mobile for "......." who was staying in our room - which was not our name. Noisy being near mainstreet. Heard young guys yelling and fighting in early evening in main street. Woken at 2am to a drunk guy a few doors down sitting out the front of his unit arguing with his girlfriend on speaker phone so we heard every word. Definately not soundproof.
