The Formby Hotel

had to share the room with a pig, had to sleep in a bunk bed, i'm 64, 130 kgs and 200cm tall. don't fit in bunks

The location of this hotel is one of a kind; it is located right opposite the Spirit of Tasmania terminal at Devonport, providing a great view outside of the hotel building and the convenience to visit the nearby stores. The price was reasonable and affordable.

The room looks smaller and older than I expected according to the photos on this website.

Kim was very friendly; she helped me find my room and answered my questions promptly.

The room was very clean, and looked very cozy. the view was spectacular. We especially enjoyed the common room setting, which had tables to share a meal and a kitchen to cook/warm your food. The process was hassle free. I look forward to come back!

Great location, great price. One large room for the family to stay the night before catching the spirit back to Melbourne

Was conveniently located to Spirit of Tasmania.

I booked through booking dot com and chose a room with two beds.We were given a room with one bed.

Cheap and ideal for night after Spirit of Tasmania day sailing. Avoid the backpackers accommodation as it is rather busy.

The parking is really not adequate.You drive around looking for “The Formby” which has no sign but the place is called The Central. Very confusing.

Location and cleanliness.

The name on booking .com is Formby Hotel which is written above the inner main entry door but on the building itself it is also known as Central Hotel too.

Old great hotel .

Great staff cleaning rooms and toilets and showers well cleaned.

Ease of coming and going

Sounds of the neighbours. I could hear their regular talking. I suggest they brick up the door between the rooms so the conversation can't be heard.

It was very close to the Spirit of Tasmania terminal. Comfy bed, lovely staff.

There was no hot water for showers at 7:30am. The doors and hallways were noisy.

Extremely affordable considering how centrally located the hotel is. Also learning about some of the history of the hotel and the city of Devonport was interesting too.

Sharing a room is never ideal, but considering how cheap the room was it was a very economical way to travel.

Locación, staff and cleanliness. Great value for money.

Facilites need an upgrade.
