it's definitely not a 5 star hotel. I would stay here again, but if we review to help fellow travelers, people should know that this is not a 5 star hotel. In terms of service, ammenities, staff, cleanliness. AGAIN, i WOULD stay here again.

I had a very good stay at this hotel. Everything was nice and well maintained. The room was comfortable and the staff were helpful. Overall, a pleasant experience.

We loved the location, so close to everything we needed and wanted! The staff was great and accommodating, they got us breakfast before our long bus ride, earlier then they normally do! Also, the room was MASSIVE!

Beautifully decorated, friendly staff, nice rooftop balcony with a great view of the ocean, in house restaurant with three others within a few steps. A short walk to the heart of the Medina. An in house spa offering many services. Clean.

There was nothing that we found that we didn’t like.

I had a wonderful experience at Mumtaz Mahal. The hotel is beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style, with elegant details that give it a warm and authentic atmosphere. My room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay, always ready to assist with anything I needed. The location is also perfect — just a short walk from the medina and the beach. I really enjoyed the peaceful ambiance and the charm of this place. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Essaouira.

We love our stay in this hotel, very friendly staff, the decoration is just perfect we love the colours of every details for sure making by love of the owner.The breakfast was delicious, Moroccan in the rooftopI highly recommended it to everyone love to visit Essaouira because it’s easy to get to the town shops and restaurants Thank you for this experience and hope to coming back

The location was fantastic!! The room was spacious and the best shower I had in allOf Morocco. It also was about 10 minute walk to the bus station which obviously was convenient.

My room was huge however it was a bit too ornate for my liking.

The rooms were spacious and ornate with beautiful detail. The bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful.

The noise levels were extremely loud. The noise started at 08:00 until 22: 45 hours. There was never a point when the riad was peaceful. The staff never addressed loud guests and screaming children.On one occasion I had to go to reception and ask them to ask a family to silence their screaming child at 22:30 hrs! I appreciate riads echo and have poor sound proofing but this was at times unbearable. The breakfast was so disappointing- considering there was a restaurant in the riad for guests, the options for breakfast was bland. Multiple options of dry bread, boxed jam and a fried egg which is advertised as an omelette. The only pleasant part of the breakfast was the fresh juice. The coffee was poor too. On two consecutive days I had to ask for pepper to be put in the pepper shaker, then got gaslit by the waiter who shook it upside down and tried to tell me there was pepper in it!!?? The apathy of staff was very obvious- most looked incredibly bored and tired. This doesn't inspire guests whatsoever.

Great location, and good value

Credit card system did not work at checkout. I spent an hour finding working ATM machines to pay the bill in cash. My credit cards worked everywhere else in Morocco and at shops and restaurants in Essaouira, but not at hotel. Very stressful.

It's unique, Moroccan style decor, internal court, bougie boutique Riad, near beaches, shops, and restaurants, ideal location to explore. Really helpful and friendly staff huge breakfast Moroccan style.

Where they do the Moroccan Hammen in the Riad I felt it was a little bit dated and could do with decor uplift. We had an amazing massage and traditional Moroccan Hamman experience but was it was let down with pool/ hot bath out of order and area looked a bit old.

Breakfast was served and very good , it's a Riad so the room the bed and bathroom were all amazing .

Amazing and elaborate decoration, plus a marvellously welcome and enormous tiled bath.

Breakfast was a bit basic compared to cheaper places we stayed on the same trip.

The rooms at the Mumtaz Mahal are very large, with beautiful furniture and decorations. Each one is individual and unique. The bathrooms are also large and very well appointed.The Mumtaz Mahal is very close to the central squares in Essaouira, as well as the taxi rank, beach and harbour.

The room was perfect. Everywhere was so clean, perfect bed, perfect bathroom and perfect location.

Beautiful and ornate. Huge comfortable bed and fabulous bath.

Breakfast was fairly basic. A bottle of water was provided in the room on arrival but they wanted payment for it to be refilled the second day which seemed a bit unnecessary.

Beautiful, amazing hotel with a very good price and a amazing bathtub. Friendly staff. This goes my top 2 hotel experieces and the best experiences on my trip in Morocco.

It's hard to see the town because you don't want to leave your room
