Pros +
- Very good Japanese or American style breakfast options in the ground floor restaurant.
- The room was spacious, with good amenities.
- I came for a short conference at Tohoku University and stayed at the hotel during that time.It was a relaxing short stay, and I was able to enjoy my time in Sendai. Thank you :)The location was also great, just 15 minutes north of Sendai Main Station, and there were some good places to get food nearby. And the staff was friendly and helpful in locating some open restaurants late at night.
Cons -
- The rate seemed a little high.
- They could have given two pillows instead of one.
- The prices were a bit high due to the many conferences that weekend.I also did not pay for any breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot comment on that point. However, the bathroom was only average with a small bathtub. I agree, it is on the level of a business hotel, but for the money I paid ... it's not sufficient.

Excellent price for location and room value. I had a single room which was clean, which was clean, had plenty of provided amenities, and wifi usable for work. The location is a short distance (7-15 min walk, depending on pace) from Sendai station, and quiet at night. Room service (on request) is consistent and staff are very polite and helpful. Laundry facilities were also easy to use.
I booked a smoking room by accident. The room had a faint smoky smell.
The location and easy lobby to elevator and breakfast
Cost vs age and TV or bathroom
Decent room, good location, friendly staff.
No real negatives about this place.
The staff was super friendly and always helpful. The breakfast was affordable and very good. Location wasn't too far from the station and easy walking distance to many shops and restaurants. We walked to many of the tourist sites around the city. Would recommend and stay again if in Sendai.
The only thing I can see people complain about is being slightly outdated being an older hotel.
Theft and rude staff. Terrible place
First off, the staff stole half my property including gifts I had purchased for my family, they will be receiving a police inquiry unless items are returned or I am compensated. I also got conjunctivitis from the bed there. Rooms are filthy with bacteria.
The room was comfortable and decent sized. The location is within 15 min walk to Sendai station and has konbini close by. It's okay for a short stay in winter, as long as you don't need strong wifi or laundry facilities and don't mind lackluster cleaning and service. It's hard to recommend when there's many other chain hotels in the area that are better on these points. The cost performance is not high. It's a good option only if everywhere better is booked up or significantly more expensive.
Firstly, their advertisement of having AC is misleading. The HVAC is set to cold or hot by the front desk, depending on season, and cannot be changed to the other mode. When turned on with the fan on high, it makes no noticeable difference. Even with the fan on and 60-65 degree temperature outside and the window open, it became uncomfortably warm. We had to use our own fan to have any circulation. It would be miserable during the summer.Secondly, don't expect to be able to do laundry here. To start with, washers are pin locked and front desk doesn't know how to unlock them. If someone leaves laundry in the machine all day, they can't open it to remove it, and will give you an excuse that they don't know what room it belongs to so they can't do anything about it. Other hotels have a whiteboard for people to write the number, and there's cameras they can check. So in our case, someone filled the machine in the afternoon and didn't come back until morning, so the machine was unusable. Even if it is open, they for some reason put every washer on tiny stilts off the ground, so they unbalance themselves constantly. Even with the machine only half loaded, it'll throw itself out of balance and stop working during the spin cycle. Front desk will readjust the machine and run it again for free, but it keeps doing it, so what's the point? The second time it happened, the machine gave an error code and the staff had to go find a manual to confirm that yes, it's off balancing itself. If they have to stop a machine or do anything with them, they have to get the manual. No clue why they aren't trained on this. They will begrudgingly give you a refund if pressured, but want to keep "trying again", which gets the same result. We gave up after a single load of laundry turned into a 3 hour ordeal with multiple trips to the front desk, and used a coin laundry nearby.
Big room and convenience shop opposite the hotel. A bit far from main station if you have big luggage.
Staff is very helpful and friendly. Good job
Wifi is slow. I can't watch an entire YouTube video.
My flight was delayed, so I had no choice but to book a hotel two days before my stay. It is a old-style hotel.- The price is reasonable.- The room is larger than typical accommodations.- Some reviews mentioned cleanliness issues, but my room was acceptable.- convenience store within 1 minute.
- central HVAC system: there is a dial near bed for temperature control, but it is ineffective. I wake up feeling overheated (almost like a low-grade fever) and drenched in sweat. The ventilation is very poor. Fortunately, you can open the window to cool down and let in fresh air. However, be cautious if you have children, as the window can open widely without any safety protection, which poses a risk even for adults.- The HVAC system is noisy. While I can tolerate some noise, it can be bothersome.- The location is not ideal; it is somewhat far from Main Street and the station. Although I didn’t experience snowfall during my stay, I live in a snowy area, so I know it can be messy and a hassle to carry luggage for about 10 minutes. If you plan to visit in winter, I recommend choosing accommodations closer to the station.
Staff were lovely to deal with despite not having a great deal of knowledge in japanese language.
Pillows felt rock hard and were a little uncomfortable to sleep on
The room is very clean and staff are nice!
The pillow is not comfortable for me
Very good breakfast, only 10min walk from Sendai main station, very friendly staff, choice between Japanese style and American style breakfast
Breakfast was not included in the price, but can be ordered/ purchased upon arrival and for the entire duration of the stay
I stay at the Daichii Inn Park whenever I travel to Sendai and it is like a second home. It is quiet, peaceful and in a fantastic location and the staff are so helpful and polite. I will always stay here when I am in beautiful Sendai.
I liked everything ..
On the one hand, this hotel was about 700 -800m from the railway station, so it was a bit of a walk from the station to reach it. It was all on the flat though, not uphill or downhill. On the other hand, the area around the station had lots of traffic and noise, so being a bit further away also meant a quieter area. There were elevators to rooms. Check-in was smooth. The hotel looks on the older side. However, this also meant that that the room was not as tight as some of the newer hotels. The room came with a fridge, but no safe. Temperature was fine, but I couldn't see any thermostat controls. There was a desk, but overall, the room's lighting was less than sufficient. There was really only one useful electrical charging point for equipment. The bathroom was OK and typical for Japanese hotels in this class. Water pressure was good, hot water came through quickly. Drainage from the sink however needed a bit of attention. I did not sign up for breakfast in this hotel. There are plenty of restaurants midway between the hotel and the railway station, with most of them along the covered street. There are also many restaurants in the station itself, but these seemed always crowded. In the vicinty of the hotel, there were plenty of convenience stores around.
The wifi in the first room given to me was useless. The signal strength was so low, the connection dropped repeatedly. They changed my room the next day and the signal strength was better, mostly 3 bars out of five. The room didn't come with a kettle in the normal sense, but a small water boiler (no more then two teacups of water) on some kind of mini induction stove top. The bedside lamp didn't work.
Passable
too old but clean, no air cleaner and humidifier
The hotel was not too far from the station, had a convenience store right across the street and was priced decently. The staff members were also very patient and polite. The room key was unlike anything I had ever used before as the key "holder" acted as a key card for the room but it was fine after I understood how it worked.Although the hotel had wi-fi, it was not encrypted but thank god they had an Ethernet port than worked. No hotels should have unencrypted wi-fi especially one that appears to target businessmen. You could apparently borrow an Ethernet cable from the front desk but I brought my own.The mini-fridge did not work but the woman at the front desk whom I informed about it on my first night replaced it the next day after I explained to her that I had already performed extensive troubleshooting. She thought that simply turning the cooling level to max might get it to work but it was completely broken.
The number one problem with this hotel was that there was no real air conditioning. There was a weird setup where the A/C (エアコン) was supposed to be controlled through what was essentially a multi-function stereo but apparently the entire hotel had been set to 暖房 (heat) according to a staff member so it didn't work. When I tried turning it on it appeared to work at first then stopped after about 30 minutes. Also although the hotel was non-smoking except for the top floor I certainly smelled the odor of stale cigarettes after attempting to cool the room down so it must have come from the air conditioning vent. The room had a window which could be opened but street noise, the threat of insects and rain did not make it a viable option. A staff member provided an oscillating fan but the problem was that it had a timer and would only run for 120 minutes which was very annoying as it would not run overnight. The toilet had an unpleasant smell which is unfortunately quite common and there was hair around the bathtub and even on the low ceiling of the bathroom. I left a note in Japanese regarding the hair but it was not cleaned up by housekeeping.
A restaurant is in the hotel building. That’s convenient.
The room was dark. Lightning was not sufficient.
