    Pros +

    • Super close to Tsugaike. Less than a 10 min walk to the gondola.
    • Great location in Tsugaike not far from a chairlift and the main gondola. Nice onsen and daily breakfasts
    • Near to the ski lift- walking distance . Staff was welcoming and helpful when we had the water problem in the bathroom.

    Cons -

    • The parking is not near the hotel and the staff doesn’t seem to give a damn what’s going on. Not very friendly as well.
    • Although the hotel is looking its age (old carpet), it is still good value for money, considering its location to a large ski resort. The evenings were a little quiet and limited options for restaurants nearby however, it was early in the season as noticed some shops/restaurants were not ready for business yet.
    • I stayed in a traditional Japanese room which was a new experience. I'm glad I did it however it was a bit of a challenge to do a major repack sitting cross-legged on the floor. No place to sit in room, but just went down to their comfortable lobby and had a complementary coffee. I would recommend everyone to experience a traditional Japan room, the futon was comfortable, which I doubled up. Probably not the best for somebody with mobility issues or super picky about a soft fluffy mattress.

Location is perfect to access Tsukaige Kogen Ski Resort. Can rent ski gear easily from store next to hotel and good ski storage in basement of hotel too. Stayed in a Japanese style room and found the futon's to be comfortable.

Awesome location. super friendly helpful staff. amazing breakfast. Great indoor onsen on the top floor with a bit of a view through the steamy windows. Lots of night life and restaurants close and walkable.

Proximity to ski lifr and gondola

Rooms tired, not professionally cleaned ( under bed was filthy). Table cloths at dinning room only changed once a week. Onsen not clean. Entrance to hotel hard to walk due to ice and snow not cleared regularly. Breakfasts virtually the same each day with hot dishes consistently cold. Elevator carpet smells and the foyer / lobby communal areas beside the smoking room just made the whole area stink of cigarette smoke. Back packers type outcome with a 3 star price.

Great location in Tsukaige. Near the slopes. Convenient store right across. Comfortable room.

    Shower temperature inconsistent.

Perfekt location for skiing, shops right next door, ski rental in first floor, god an nice onsen on the top floor. If I go back i will stay at same place.

All good, a bit dated rooms

    8MikaPosted on: 2-24-2025

Great location - right beside Tsugaike. Staff was friendly and helpful. The lady at the front desk was great.

The cigarette smoke smell and the smell inside the elevator.

Great location to gondola, lifts, and general store

Restaurant wasn’t great, included breakfast for westerners was very basic

    8KierenPosted on: 2-17-2025

Location was fantastic, staff were very helpful

The breakfast was pretty basic and not always hot, just warm

    9VanessaPosted on: 2-11-2025

Big room, great facilities, comfortable and close to the ski lift and convenience store!

    6ChristopherPosted on: 2-9-2025

    Great location

Shower curtain was moldy. Breakfast was too late, didn’t set you up well for skiing other resorts.

    8JenniferPosted on: 2-3-2025

Location in Tsukaige itself is excellent. Close to the slopes. Convenient store right opposite hotel. Rooms are comfortable. Breakfast service staff were really helpful and friendly

    8Stefano T.Posted on: 2-2-2025

Staff very kind and helpful, very close to the slopes and gondola. Overall very good choice for a family- run hotel in the immediate vicinity to ski lifts and town center. Right next to bus stop for Tokyo's airport. Onsen small but very cozy. We would come back next time if we ski again on Hakuba.

Breakfast is ok but might not be for everyone, ski room on lower floor connected only by a steep staircase

    7ThaliaPosted on: 1-30-2025

The location & close proximity to ski lift, hire businesses and restaurants are second to none. The top floor onsen is also underrated!

Slightly outdated decor and furnishings however location and price make it worthwhile

    9TheresiaPosted on: 1-30-2025

The location is less than 5 minutes' walk from the chair lifts. The onsen is small but great.

    5NicholasPosted on: 1-24-2025

LocationTatami mat in traditional Japanese roomSki / board locker room worked very well - gear dried overnight in the lockersGreat view of the mountain from the western style room (we had one of each room style as family of 4)Using a translate app could arrange shipping of ski bags to Narita through hotel front deskCheaper than other accomodation options

Hotel has seen better days, worn linings, plumbing a bit old - bathrooms smelt a little offDue to the smoking room off the lobby, the lobby smells of cigarette smoke, but if you are sensitive to smoke you will smell it two levels up in the corridors. We hadn't stayed in older Japanese hotels before, so this was new for us. Not the thickest futon sleeping mattress - we doubled them up with spares in cupboardAfter shuttle van drop-off it took us a few minutes to find main entrance of hotel for the first time due to snow not being cleared very well from staircase to main entrance

    8EwanPosted on: 1-23-2025

Location and access to slopes is perfect. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Easy breakfast options, secure drying room. Warm, dry and close to dinner options. 1 min walk to gondola. Lovely onsen.

In room showers are not amazing, more pillows would be nice.

    8MarikoPosted on: 1-16-2025

The property was close to the ski resort.

In order to get to the hotel gear lockers you have to use the steep stairs which for me was really dangerous. The room sofa was disgustingly dirty. Had a lot of food stains.
