Sotetsu Fresa Inn Nagano-Ueda

Good business hotel in the walking distance to the station but surprisingly quiet. Clean and friendly.

Everything about this hotel was great. It is right in front of Ueda station, a surprisingly quiet city. We asked for a quiet room when booking and ours was very quiet, clean and comfortable. No loud guests! Wonderful staff. Great beds, room for your suitcase under the bed. Easy walk to Ueda castle and to Yanagimachi street. Shinsu Apple Pie Lab is a short walk for fabulous apple strudel. Also nearby, Riki-Tei restaurant had the best tonkatsu in town. We would gladly stay here again!

Great service, lots of wonderful amenities (toothbrushes, toothpaste, an assortment of tea bags, bath aroma powder, sun screen, daily Japanese-language newspapers, and other items offered for free!), super clean, supportive and friendly service, fantastic location, quiet and peaceful.

① The air-conditioning in our room wasn't great. Whatever temperature it was set at (min. 16 degrees maximum 28), it just spewed out really hot air so that the room would be as hot and stuffy as a sauna after half an hour. So I'd turn off the air-conditioner, then the room would cool down and become really cold after 2-3 hours. This was the reason why I woke up several times each night - either it was too hot or too cold. I caught a slight cold because the room would become really cold in the early morning if I turned the aircon off. The temperature in the room was impossible to control. I don't know whether it was just our room or the entire building. It was a shame because I wanted to give this hotel 10 stars (everything else was perfect and the service was great) but this whole temperature thing ruined one aspect of my stay there and made the nights uncomfortable. Please fix this! ② The breakfast was nice and varied, but it would have been nice to have had fruits and fruit punches as well, as the only desert offered was ice cream and eating ice cream, no matter how tasty, in the middle of a freezing winter in Nagano isn't so enticing!

Location (station right across the street, close convenience stores and little shops).

The design of these business hotel bathrooms having that weird step going in. Also a bit tight with more than one luggage.

I loved the location as it was right across the street from the train station and buses/taxis. There were many restaurants, cafes, and shopping options nearby.

Really nice hotel, right across from Ueda Station. Room was very clean and comfortable. The staff at the front desk went above and beyond with helping us to book a room for the weekend in a ryokan at Bessho Onsen. The breakfast was AMAZING! Highly recommend this hotel!

No downsides for us. Everything was perfect.

Price? I wish all rooms were non-smoking. It would make choosing easier. But overall, i loved my stay.

The place was clean and well-equipped. The location was near to a train station. There were a lot of shop lots and eateries nearby.

When I passed by twice I still can't get the Sotetsu ,Maybe it would be clearer to use Fresa Inn instead of Sotetsu in booking.com.

Just right opposite the train station. Front desk receptions were all super nice and friendly. Great choices of amenities. The room is comfy.

Just a small point. The cleanliness has gone down a little since the first time I stayed. Found a some hangers and a dirty plastic bag hanging in the bathroom when I checked in.

Breakfast ended too early at 9:00am.Shower water heater is not stable, getting very hot & cold frequently.

Location was good. Very near to the train station. There are plenty of food options. Staff speaks English and they are polite. Love that they give packets of amenities before you enter the lift.

The aircon is central controlled so we were rather hot though it was winter. Thankfully the window can be opened slightly and the staff gave us fans.

2 mins walk across the main train station. Lawson nearby. Lotsa amenities to choose from.

The bed is a little hard.

The location was great - connected with walkway from train station. Has lots of restaurants nearby.

Hard pillow and poorly ventilated inside the room
