    Pros +

    • This hotel is great for an authentic Japanese experience. It’s family run and very friendly.
    • Location was amazing, and the onsen was very slow, so I had the whole place to myself. Which was very nice. It is a more or a traditional style room, but loved that there was hot water ready for tea when we walked in.
    • Hotel had an old Japanese vibe with beautiful wood architecture. Traditional rooms with tatami and futon. Onsen! The breakfast was very well balanced meals and different meals were prepared for each morning.

    Cons -

    • We loved the onsen which was great at the end of a long day in the slopes.
    • The indoor onsen was absolutely scalding hot. Someone had left the hot water running so it was way hotter than it should have been. The outdoor one was a little less intense. Also it was a little tricky bringing our bags (snowboard bags) to the room as there was some stairs that you had to go down and then up even though our room was on the main floor.
    • We loved it all

Service… the owner is a super nice gentleman. He helped us with taxis and keeping our luggage after skiing the last day. Onsen on-site is perfect after the slopes.

What a gem! Great location, charming Japanese style rooms, lovely outdoor onsen, and very kind host. Incredible value for the cost. We were in Hakuba for 9 days and only stayed here our final night because we booked late, but we plan to book early to stay here next year.

It was clean and central and it was nice to have a personal onsen. The host was the best

    We loved it all

Very friendly and kind staff. The man at the front desk was exceptional and they even left us a change of clothes and towels when they couldn’t service our room.

Japanese style rooms aren’t as comfortable as we thought they’d be. The room was spacious and great but the pads were a little thin.

The staff, the service and its location itself.

    10ChenzhaoPosted on: 12-24-2024

Very Japanese style, very cozy, close walks to the convenience store, restaurants and rental shops.

Takes 15 mins to walk to the nearest resort.

The views from this hotel are incredible, and the smell of the mountains was very soothing. We loved Hakuba. The rooms were extremely comfortable, the staff was exceptional, the views were outstanding, and the hospitality unbeatable. They have an onsen on site. One of the aspects I enjoyed was the bookshelves located on the second floor. I liked looking through the books and enjoying a quiet time in Hakuba, The location of the hotel was convenient to anything you could possibly want within the city, and was a great spot for traveling to Happo-One and Togakushi. When we were leaving, the gentleman at the front desk gave us a Hakuba calendar. It made my eyes water!

Onsen on site was amazing. Great place to stay, right in Happo and a short walk to the bus station. Lawson conveni nearby too!!! Love those pork buns.

The room really spacious and comfortable. We didn’t get to use the space much since we only stayed 1 night. But the view was really nice from our terrace.

The entrance is not that visible because we enter through the back street. The door entering the lobby is a bit of a hassle to open if you have luggage.

Everything about Hakuba Alpine Hotel exceed expectations! The staff, room, view, facilities, and location were all exceptional. We will definitely be staying here again next time we are in Hakuba.

Everything Japanese Breakfast and dinner are delicious , Nice On Sen and very friendly owner.

The staff is very nice and helpful. Location is good, just a few min walk to Happo bus terminal and convenience store. The Japanese style breakfast is very tasty, they also have coffee. Remember to reserve for breakfast or dinner early, otherwise you may miss it Our tatami room is big and clean. They have a small onsen, it's great to have a hot spring after trekking or ski . I really enjoy staying here.

super friendly and sweet staff. Japanese breakfast is a must. took a moment to get used to the Japanese style tatami sle

Fantastic location close to the Happo bus terminal, the hosts are wonderingly and kind, breakfast is included and was delicious (and dinner can be ordered the day before for 2500 yen - helpful when restaurants around Hakuba are at capacity). Our room was very big for the two of us and really cosy and insulated.

    9JordanPosted on: 2-18-2023

Breakfast was excellent! The optional breakfast is a traditional spread and all of it was great! It's not a buffet so be sure to advise early of any dietary requirements. The host is also super friendly!

Not a fault of the property, traditional beds take time to get used to coming from a western bed. If you're a side sleeper it may be difficult. Still a fun experience though :)
