Cons -
- old facility that needs renovation
- Facility was dated and uncomfortable beds.Location was great if mountain was open, unfortunately it was closed during our stay and there is no village to explore so we spent lots of time on the valley bus. Probably a different experience if there was more snow!

The stay is quite comfortable but most facilities are so out date.
Air conditioning system here is central unit through the whole hotel (as the reception told me). Therefore on the not-enough-cold-day, if the hotel doesn’t turn on the system, the rooms will stay with natural outside airflow. In my booking.com booking condition, there is well written that the room comes with aircond. The only offer from the hotel is they will refund the room fee to you but only the day you haven’t stayed. And pay the night you stayed.
The hotel is very impressive and big! Great facilities. But most importantly for us is that it is right on the ski area! The skiing at Cortina Hakuba was incredible (it snowed every day we were there!). The Onsen was amazing!
It's a little dated. Okay, quite dated. But the biggest problem is that we were overcharged significantly. We did have daily charges (mainly the restaurant) on our bill at check out, but the corresponding charges on my credit card were always different. Usually higher. Then there was a charge on my credit card for the day we left that wasn't on the hotel bill at all! I did some research and it appears this was not an isolated incident.
The room was clean and spacious and we had choice between western style beds or Japanese futons (actually very comfortable, it was a good experience). The buffet for breakfast and dinner was offering plenty of options, and the food was delicious. The public bath very relaxing after a day of ski is a must!Definitely a very good place in Hakuba Valley
The breakfast was excellent. The accessibility to the lift is ideal. The onsen at this property is top rate!
This resort is the farthest away from Hakuba Happo so there isn’t much opportunity to walk around. But access to ski slopes and lifts is perfect.
Loved the location and the onsen
The food options were really bad. The breakfast buffet was always cold food and not very good and dinner was overpriced for what you got and also mostly cold. That was the only option for food. No easy way to access other restaurants because we didn’t have a car and the other restaurant in the hotel wasn’t open for dinner.
Location is unbeatable, Onsen was great
Lack of options for food, buffet was good but didnt always feel like a full buffet but had no choice, and no bar to have a drink after a long day on the slopes
This location is only good if you want to ski at Cortina resort. It was clean but very dated.
The hotel needs a refurbishment. The bed and sheets were uncomfortable. It's also very far from any food options. You need a car to get anywhere else otherwise and uber could be $100 during the night
Great access to the Cortina slopes and the onsen. Staff were friendly and the rooms were very spacious.
Breakfast and dinner buffet’s weren’t the best. Dinner buffet quite expensive.
Great facilities right next to the ski slopes. Good buffet spread
The location is very good, the hotel in located im front of the montain. It is very good to go skiing.
The internet do not work well, in the rrom the internet never works
The onsen is amazing. Having a yukata available after a long day on the mountain is so comfortable! Access to Cortina is bar none!
The dining options are limited. The buffet is crazy expensive if you are someone who eats very little. Longer hours for the restaurant with ala carte options would be helpful.
This property was a dream! Located directly on Cortina mountain, I could see my partner coming down the mountain snowboarding from my bed! The facilities inside the hotel were great - food, rentals, ski lockers etc. We were awfully sad to leave this property as it had the most beautiful views, we will be coming back !!
Do wish the convenience store inside the property had a greater variety - or even perhaps was a 7/11 or Lawsons store as it didn’t have a lot of options. This resort is quite a distance away from shops so would be amazing if better range was available at the store.
Excellent location with direct access to its own ski lifts. The hotel offers all the amenities that ski and snowboard enthusiasts could need. While there are a few dining options available, the food quality is average.
We had an amazing stay at Hotel Green Plaza! The rooms were super comfortable and quintessentially Japanese, which added to the charm. Being right next to the ski lift made hitting the slopes a breeze, and the on-site rental shop had everything we needed. We also loved browsing the great gift shop and relaxing in the lounge area. But the real highlight was the incredible onsen... pure bliss after a long day of skiing! Overall, we'd highly recommend Hotel Green Plaza for its convenience, comfort, and welcoming atmosphere.
While the food wasn't always the most impressive, the lively vibes at the all-you-can-eat restaurant almost made up for it. We were excited to eat somewhere else after three nights.
Exceptional location, 20 meters from lifts. Away from the pubs and tourists frenzy of Happo but easily within reach if that’s what you’re after. World’s best Onsen facilities, awesome smorgasbord breakfast and dinner. Guest locker facilities are perfect and MYO lunch pizzas with beers is a must. Rooms are older and simple but clean with everything you need. It’s not advertised as a 5 star penthouse establishment it’s a functional, practical, clean, comfortable hotel. Enough English to easily get by but still predominantly and thankfully Japanese. During my 12 day visit we had 4 meters of fresh snow and as I left anther 4 days of 60+cm fresh powder started. Tree runs are absolute world class attracting many away from European/Canadian/USA resorts. Unfortunately this hidden gem won’t remain hidden for much longer!! Move fast!!! See you next year, I’m doing 3 weeks.
I don’t like that other people are finding out about this amazing place!!
We have been skiing in Japan many times over the last 15 years and this hotel is NOT an indication of the wonderful experiences you can have, it is the opposite. The hotel is right on the slopes and has an iconic red roof so great for photos. The rooms are large, but beds are tiny. The Onsen has a great view over the slopes. Nothing else about this place is good, it is not worth the money. Stay down the valley and do a day trip when the snow dumps. One day is enough as the main lift that joins both valleys is stopped, looks like forever, so unless you ski double diamond black you are very limited to slope choice. The rental shop is pathetic and has only two length of skis. As the main clientele are first time skiers who don't know the difference, they give one length to adults and one to kids. We paid for advanced skis and they had to give us the skis of the staff which were average anyway!
We had booked and paid months in advance. Two days before check-in the hotel sent a message to say they had overbooked and we were being moved to another hotel and we were very lucky as Green Plaza would pay!!! Made no sense as we had already paid. The other hotel was cheaper and has terrible reviews. After many messages and a fight our booking was reinstated. Hotel Green Plaza caters to large tour groups, bus groups and school kids. They do not care about individual bookings of foreigners. It was so noisy and crowded, especially the restaurant and Onsen. The buffet restaurant food is average, there is a variety but poor quality and flavour. As you are so isolated there is nowhere else to go. The Onsen was so crowded and kids were running, yelling and jumping in and out of pools I felt I was at a public swimming pool with no life guards. The staff seem so over it they don't smile and were even rude at times. There are so many other wonderful places to stay in the valley - don't stay here.
The location was great.
The breakfast was poor & the beds were uncomfortable. It was very expensive.
