We enjoyed our two night stay at Jizokan Ryokan. The staff were so kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The location is wonderful, near zenkoji temple, on a beautiful pedestrian only street. The onsen was very nice as we visited in January and it was quite cold outside. We enjoyed the traditional Japanese beds and rooms.

Very cozy and clean place. The food was good and I thought the place provided a good value. Great location and I thought the offsite parking which is just couple minute walk away was easy to get in and out of. Just search “Matsuya ryokan parking” on Google Maps to find the location. The family that runs the place was also very kind.
The staff was incredibly friendly and warm. The ryokan was spotless - incredibly clean. Such a wonderful experience!! It’s a perfect location - only steps from the temple and right next to shops and food but still very quiet. The breakfast was delicious too!

Amazing rooms, location and meals
Location was amazing and style is very good. You can feel the history in this building.
The bath wasn't all that big. It could fit about 3 people max but thankfully it wasn't busy when I went so I had the bath to myself essentially.
It was beautiful traditional ryokan and the staff were so warm and welcoming. The room itself made you feel like you were having a truly authentic experience in Japan.

Loved the location it’s right next to Zenkoji temple. Hotel room was clean and much nicer than I excepted. The room we stayed in could see all the actions from the windows right behind the big Buddha statue. So serene and beautiful. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, they gave us so much food. Very lovely couple who owns this Ryokan. Must stay if you’re visiting Zenkoji.

Great location and very quiet at night
I thought it was a bit expensive but maybe that’s the time of the year. Otherwise it was very good
The people, location, food, comfort, everything pretty much. The older people at the front were super cute and helpful. The ones who served us breakfast were very friendly, polite, and helpful. Honestly everyone there was great! Breakfast was delicious! we dont eat meat so some bits we didn't eat, next time we'll let them know ahead of time but there is still enough food for those that are vegetarian.
Location is next to the temple
A bit small but very friendly, might want to note to future guests that taking a taxi from station is better than walking, the walk with luggage was horrible due to the incline and tile roads.

The bathrooms are quite cold in the winter. It was more comfortable to bathe in the communal sento.

Excellent location, particularly if you’re keen to attend the sunrise service at the temple. Plenty of space in the room. Terrific meals; the food and the cheerful hospitality of the dining room & kitchen staff in particular are worth the splurge.
Fantastic location; very attentive and friendly staff, very good breakfast and dinner; quiet room even though our room faced the main street outside.
