Toyoko Inn Nagano-Eki Zenkoji-Guchi

It was located very conveniently close to Nagano Station and there were free lockers to store luggage in the lobby.

The room was small and cramped.

During check in the staff was not helpful. The room was very basic and minimal. The comfort level was ok but nothing special. Nothing about my stay there makes me want to stay there again and I would not recommend it.

Good location walking distance to the Nagano station, the room was spacious enough. They have a heater for the winter as well. It was a pleasant stay.

The breakfast was not that great, it would have been nice to have some milk available for coffee and tea. the breakfast area was very small and congested.

The breakfast buffet was only open till 9:00am. All my other hotels on this trip were 9:30 or 10:00. They didn’t serve complimentary coffee after 10:00am. Why not just close it when breakfast closes. They still had old fashioned separate washer & dryers so you had to pay for both machines. It was a little cheaper overall than using the all in ones from other hotels.

Great value for money, just 5mins from the station. We came from Tokyo in the evening so we could have an early start to see the snow monkeys. The room was bigger and cheaper than in Tokyo and it included breakfast, which was mainly Japanese savoury options but we all found something to eat. We were then able to take a short walk over to the express buses after breakfast.

The breakfast very crowded and the staff didn't manage the numbers of guests and number of sitting available in 1 time. I also not sure if guest without breakfast coupons were also seated together since no staff asked for the breakfast voucher. End up we just used the takeaway boxes and took plain rice and soup and eat in our room. The Wifi connection was very slow and the room smelled of cigarette even though we asked for Non-Smoking rooms. We understand that there is a large volume of tourists in the hotel, but the staff did not even smile to welcome us into the premises and give us a warm greeting.

We were very pleased with the family. Its proximity to the station and its cleanliness were perfect. Only the breakfast was quite poor for us. It is within walking distance to the buses for skiing.
