    • Will not recommend it to anyone.
    • The room was OK-ish for the price.Staff are polite but very little English spoken.
    • We loved the onsen. The hotel itself was also nice. The room was specious and comfortable. There’s a free lounge guests can use all day.

    Cons -

    • Basic breakfast and dinner food, taste nothing good. no shower room in room. Have to use the public bath. No real onsen water. Gravel parking lot. Poor location. Old facility.
    • Ridiculous design decisions: hit myself with a lamp (which had no bulbs) 3 times, such was its position above the table. Arrived at 16.10 and they wouldn't allow me to reserve for dinner as they only accept reservations until 4pm. I had to change my plans and go out again in the cold (taxi back & forth) to get dinner. Not really client friendly. The breakfast was pretty horrible. Skip it, do not pay for it in advance!
    • I think it’s only convenient for those who drive. They also charge extra for small children (under 6 years old) despite the fact that I booked a room with triple beds. The hotel policy also stated that kids of all ages are welcome so why charging extra USD 70, I wonder?

The breakfast selections was really bad. Room was old and poorly lighted. There's a smell in the room.

    Clean and friendly staff

Someone did smoke to our non smoking room bathroom.

Big room. Lounge w free drinks.

Finding out that Booking.com charged me 24060 Yen for a night for 4 X double rooms when a check the same platform on that night showed the highest price was 19800Yen!!! I understand dynamic pricing but this is ridiculous. Will NOT use Booking.com ever again.

The front desk staff were helpful and spoke enough English to have a conversation. The room exceeded my expectations and i love the Japanese style for half the room and western for the other half. Clean, tidy, :)

That I didn't stay longer because there was more to see in Karuizawa.

I reserved 2 rooms for family members who were visiting us here in Karuizawa. Hotel was mainly chosen because of its proximity with our residence. Rooms are spacious (31 sqm) and basically in good order and comfortable although the bathrooms are on the tiny size. Price is also correct in view of the local competition and onsen is available.

The breakfast was apparently not really the best part of the stay as reported by my family members. The immediate surroundings of the hotel could be maybe a little better kept and the rusty gate and signboard at the entrance repainted as these steps would improve the image of the hotel best accessed by car as it is quite far from the town centre.

Hi, I think we left a black jacket there during our stay. We stayed at room 117 and was wondering if anyone found it. Please feel free to email me if anyone finds it. Other than that it was fantastic! Thanks !

Free drinks at the lounge. Games which you can bring back to your room. There is a pool table.

Toilet was across the room which require you to wear slippers to cross.

Big room! Hot bath. Staff is available.

    A bit neutral

Google and Tripadvisor reviews are not doing any justice to this quaint hotel! I was initially very worried with biased and inaccurate reviews but I was sooooo pleased and happy with our stay! The rooms were exceptionally big, quiet and comfortable. Hot spring water was amazing and relaxingHotel check-in staff deserve a GOLD Award! They absolutely friendly and helpful, honestly! They even offered to show us the Japanese style rooms when we commented how lovely it looked on the hotel brochureYes, perhaps the exterior facade does look a little old but it is the interior where you sleep matters more isn't it? That is why Google reviews and Tripadvisor are so wrongIf you are looking for poshy and luxurious looking hotels, go for the international chains then. We were extremely satisfied with this cosy find. After dinner, we hang out at the lobby lounge fireplace. Pool table with refreshments served. Met other Japanese staying and had simple chats over pool games. We are from SIngapore and could only converse in English but that didnt get in the way of meeting other friendly locals

haha! perhaps an elevatorIt is a 2 level building so we were assigned to LEvel 2Had to lug the luggage up the stairs but really, the stay was way above expectations to be bothered by this little issue

When staying in this hotel, you have to check carefully, because there are only 3 buses to the hotel every day, otherwise you have to travel and the walking takes 30 minutes. No one in the hotel can speak English, and there are no restaurants around! hot springs???

There was enough space to open two 63L suitcases and more so it was stress-free repackaging my luggage. The lightings were cozy and relaxing. When you become a membership (free), you get free drinks(alcohol, water, coke) and snacks. Their onsen was a little smaller than others but it was nice to warm up before breakfast. I recommend the Tombo no Yu as it is modern, beautiful, and has more space and variety (indoor, outdoor, cold, sauna) with a zen-like atmosphere.Overall, it is a clean hotel with great customer service!

Opening and closing the bathroom door created a lot of noise at night.
