    Pros +

    • Location. Onsen was great. Breakfast good. Staff helpful.
    • We had a great stay! The hotel offers only Japanese-style rooms, but they were very comfortable. The onsen was excellent, and we also really enjoyed the private onsen. The service was outstanding, and it’s a lovely family-owned hotel. The location was great, close to restaurants and shops, and very convenient for ski shuttle buses to the lifts. We hope to come back!
    • Staff was extremely helpful - room was very spacious - free onsen was a bonus - oh and the breakfast was really good

    Cons -

    • No dinner service or shuttle to slopes. Rooms could do with an upgrade, lighting in room was poor.
    • Nothing! I enjoyed everything.
    • Maybe the walking from the main hall to the annex, but aside from that all good

The breakfast was homey, plentiful and buffet style. The dining area was also spacious and super relaxing. We stayed in the traditional japanese room and it was completely fine sleeping on the floor in futons. There was sufficient heating as well for the colder nights. The wifi connection was good to do work as well. The location was pretty good if you wanted to be close to the Happo One Bus Terminal only a few minutes walk away. Overall a pretty decent stay and good value for money. I particularly enjoyed this hotel because it was a family run hotel too and it's always nice to support the locals. The bonus was that there was an onsen as well included in your accommodation which was nice to use after a long day on the slopes.

    Nothing! I enjoyed everything.

I enjoyed so much the stay, the breakfast and the onsen particularly and the staff super nice!

Maybe the walking from the main hall to the annex, but aside from that all good

Generally good traditional Japanese hotel. OK size rooms for Japan. 15 minutes walk to Happo One. Not too far from the bus station to access rest of the Valley. Good breakfast

Not the most modern hotel, but adequate. Shower is traditional Japanese which you can only hold and has to be rated as inadequate.

Location was good for Happo area and the onsen temp was perfect. Also has an elevator so you don't need to climb stairs.

The staff were friendly, accommodating to my needs and helpful. I also liked the ski/snowboard room on the first floor, very convenient.

It’s sort of a walk to the gondola/lifts, however, close to the shuttle stop/convenience store. Thinking about it now, it’s probably the best spot to be in.

The Japanese couple that run the property were absolutely wonderful. So friendly and so helpful! The ski gear room had tons of space and our gloves were dry every morning, our tatami room was immaculate, the onsen was absolutely gorgeous (and almost always empty for a solo onsen after 10pm!), and all the little extras along the way were so appreciated. We were blown away by the breakfast buffet, it kept us snowboarding all day long. Also, when one of our bags hadn’t arrived, our wonderful host did all the work tracking it down for us (turned out it had been delivered next door). Really can’t say enough nice things about this place, we didn’t want to leave and will definitely stay again our next time in Hakuba :)

That I couldn’t steal their dog. She was soooo cute!

Very good location and very nice view , room arena

The central air conditions was too hot and no way to adjust have to open the window and sleep Shower a bit weak

    9JoelyPosted on: 2-22-2025

The onsen on the property was amazing! Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The ski/boot room was so convenient.

The beds were a little old, and I didn’t love the small twin beds.

    8MarcPosted on: 2-12-2025

Breakfast was simple but good. Location was very convenient.

We were in the Annex which was a little inconvenient.

    8MaddelynPosted on: 2-10-2025

    The onsen and location

Sometimes the wifi was slow to connect to but no issues with the property

    8ChrisPosted on: 2-9-2025

Big ski dry room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast has a good variety and plenty of food. The onsen on site is great, although it can get crowded at busy times. Stayed for 6 nights and it was great. Can't express how lovely the staff are.

Unfortunately there was no western rooms at time of booking, so the futon beds were hard to adjust to, however not the hotel's fault.

    9FrancesPosted on: 2-9-2025

Super helpful staff, always available when needed and picked us up from the station on short notice. Great breakfast. Always a lot of amenities available if needed. Everything felt clean/tidy

No access to a shower on the floor we were staying on so had to use the public onsen showers. However this wasnt really an issue.

    8RachaelPosted on: 2-8-2025

Fantastic traditional hotel. Easy on site parking, delicious breakfast every day, lovely onsen on site. Will definitely be back and recommend to everyone!

    8JustinPosted on: 2-8-2025

Location, breakfast, size of Japanese room, Onsen are all great

Beds in Japanese room are thinner than others. Ask for a double up/ extra couple of futons

    10LucPosted on: 2-7-2025

Very conveniently close to bus stops and shuttle buses to go to the slopes and other resorts. The host was very helpful and the facilities were good.

Nothing that I can think of.

    10JuliaPosted on: 2-2-2025

The great location and the very nice, very helpful staff. Our room was also spacious and clean with a lovely view too.

We liked everything! It would have been nice to have somewhere to sit and have a drink before dinner but this was only a small problem.

    8SaraPosted on: 2-2-2025

Good breakfast, well located, good onsen and I enjoyed very much the Japanese style room. We had a great days there.
