Pros +
- Our room was super clean, the location is great (just 5 minutes from the train station), and the staff was super helpful.
- Location is an easy walk from train station. It is a safe place but not much to look at in the immediate area, but great for excursions on the trains. Other areas of Nagano are a short cab ride away and are good for going out to dinner / drinks.
- Confortable beds and pillows, massage chairs although small.
Cons -
- Needs to be renovated, not that close to train stations or convenience stores.
- the room was quite small but comfortable.
- I have two issues. First, my bathroom had a constant and strong foul smell - nasty vomiting ones, which likes coming from a bad trap in the bathroom floor drain. Each time when one opens the bathroom door, the foul smell is very obvious, discomforting and vomiting. That was the major issue in my room. The second issue was a strange one. The hotel has the regular rooms on the lower floors, and the grand rooms on the high floors. My room was on a regular floor. I happened to know that the grand rooms actually have better pillows (softer and smoother), and the grand rooms actually have better toilet papers! The toilet papers in my regular room were slipperily smooth and very thin. It is rather strange to have two qualities of toilet papers between two classes of rooms in the same hotel! I would assume that there are other subtle differences in the qualities of stuff between the two classes of rooms that I do not know (e.g., the quality of shampoo, body wash, towel, bed sheet, what else?)! I am ok if the grand rooms have additional devices or bigger rooms, but these quality differences make me uncomfortable.

excellent location. just 2-3 min walk from train station. plenty of dining and drinking options very close

My single room was decently sized, which can be uncommon in Nagano. The front desk staff were friendly. The hotel offers free tea/coffee and other little things, including free tasting of Japanese wines, which were nice.

About 1 km f from Nagano station. If you're carrying any luggage, specially medium or large size suitcases it's better to get a taxi from the station to the hotel. Taxi typically costs about 6 to 7 USdollars.
we stayed in one of their bigger rooms. Even then the room size is small for a couple with no space to move around if you happen to have a couple of medium size suitcases with you..
Rooms were clean. Location was quite close to train station. Lobby was comfortable with amenities and snacks. They provided a unique luggage keeper system at the lobby.
I'm pretty sure I lost a jacket in the hotel room. I left my luggage on my check-out day to pick them up when I return from a sightseeing day. Before I left I asked if there's any left jacket, the lady at lobby said there was no report of missing item. So I thought maybe I misplaced it. When I reached the next town, I checked my luggage and didn't find my jacket. I asked again through customer service booking.com and again they said no. Now I'm back in my country and still didn't find my jacket which I thought I misplaced in the first place. I remembered vividly taking out the jacket in this hotel's room.
This is a 3 star hotel close to the train station. They have excellent customer service and great amenities. They offered a free sake tasting which was nice.
No complaints, it's a little dated but if you can look past that it's a 10.
The room was a bit small but that is Japan. Facilities were great and staff very helpful and friendly. The hotel is not far from the train station and fairly central. I loved the fact there was an Irish Pub nearby.
Room was spacious and clean. Good location, only a 7 minute walk to station. Staff were helpful.
The bed was a bit too firm, made sleep a bit difficult.
Very good location, clean, close to the station, close to konbinis and walkable distance from Zenkōji temple.
Nothing as such.
Excellent place to stay. The room was pefectly clean and unusually large for Japanese hotels. The breakfast was great with both Japanese and Western food. As a bonus one can enjoy panoramic views of Nagano and surrounding mountains from the 12th floor restaurant. The location is close to both Nagano temples and the train station.
My stay at Chisun Grand Nagano was very enjoyable. The hotel was a short walk from the train station, and was central to many nearby restaurants and shops. The room was larger than expected, very clean, and very affordable.
loved the massage chair! breakfast was also very good with a wide variety of foods. I usually do not eat hotel breakfasts but liked the fact that it was a Japanese style breakfast and in a tatami room. excellent experience! in the afternoon, there were Apple turnovers in the lobby.
Great location that was close to a train station with nice amenities.
Wish there was a public onsen nearby.
location is strategic. Near station, shopping mall
Hotel is a bit old
The breakfast at this hotel is so top tier, I cannot sing enough praises - amazing selection, probably one of the biggest highlights for me. Also we were lucky enough to be in one of the Grand floor rooms, and we had a massage chair in our room! It was so nice to use after a day of adventuring. The staff are really helpful and kind, and the location is within a 5-10 minute walk from Nagano Station so it is really convenient.
Location close to the station is perfect. Reception staff great, very helpful. Hotel is big and seems older, the pretty authentic restaurant on the 12 floor gives excellent breakfasts with views. Beds are really comfortable.
Good location close to the station and a short walk to bars and restaurants. The hotel and room are fairly basic but for the price we paid it had everything we needed. A bed, a bathroom, a desk, toiletries and coffee to collect in reception, plus they have a locker system for left luggage. We saw bicycles for hire as well.
For the money we paid (approx £50) we wouldn't have expected anything posher than this.
Delicious breakfast with so many choices! The massage chair and pillow selection were nice amenities. Great location near train station and you can walk to everything easily. Welcome bread was a nice touch. Would recommend this lovely hotel!
It’s a little dated decor but is kept very clean and neat
