    Pros +

    • The Onsen
    • The rooms are quite big compared to other Japanese hotels. We received a discounted ticket to Otari Shizen Koen from the reception. There is a very nice outdoor bath, which was a big surprise.
    • Cosy, friendly staff and nice atmosphere

    Cons -

    • The accommodation was not heated well nor was the boot room which is critical when. Trying to dry snow equipment.
    • The breakfast felt rushed. They start at 0730 and end at 0830 sharp. It felt like a military drill, with the waiters asking us to grab as much as we could before 0830. The staff closed everything at 0830 sharp. Cold or lukewarm water in most of the men's onsen taps.
    • The building is made of wood so when people are walking on the hallway it was echoing in the room which made it difficult to sleep

Cosy, friendly staff and nice atmosphere

Felt a bit dated in terms of decor. Long walk to the gondola and they closed the ski gear rental in late April

very friendly staff and remembers us from previous trips

no refund when I injured my knee and had to leave

Location was perfect, quaint ski lodge. Breakfasts were a great amenity. Walk to lifts and town every day/night.

    Nothing. Would stay again!

    - Great free daily buffet breakfast.- Friendly staff.- Lent my partner snow boots for free.- Organised snowboard wax for me.- Organised ski lift passes for us.- Free shuttle to and from the bus terminal.- Free toboggans were useful and fun with a small child in the snow.

    - We weren't given a second room key for several days which was annoying with a small child.- They are a bit too strict about the "no shoes in the lobby" policy. It's a fine policy but it is difficult to have a 3 year old comply with this, and the constant reminders about the no shoes were annoying. We knew the policy but it's difficult to sort yourself out with your snow gear and also a 3 year old who wants to run around at the same time and took a few steps into the lobby space. They need to relax with this.- Would've been nice to have a microwave in the room.- A Japanese toilet would've been nice.- They need better clothing and shoe drying facilities.- Room was a very tight fit for 3 people. We struggled to fit 2 adults and a toddler plus luggage.

Rosenheim Hakuba is in a fantastic location, just a few minutes walk to the Nakiyama lifts at Happo One Resort, making it easy to head back to the hotel for a quick break and then get back to the slopes. The staff was incredible, with some able to speak English. Every night, they have a happy hour with half-off drinks, which is a great touch. Echoland is just an 11-minute walk away, offering convenience stores, food trucks, shops, and bars. The hotel itself is quiet and peaceful, with a fantastic onsen, including an outdoor pool on the balcony where you can watch skiers on the mountain. The breakfast was also excellent, with plenty of options to choose from.

This place was great! The staff were exceptional and very friendly and fun. Rooms were great with everything you needed, and quite big with a separatetatami room, and the beds were comfy. I didn't try the onsen but other guests said it was excellent. Great location near everything and about an 8 min walk to Happo One ski resort, and even less walk to Hakuba Valley bus near Nakayama slope.Breakfast was a highlight, lots of choice and delicious...runs from 715 to 830 and each room has their own dedicated table, which was a nice touch.A couple of things that they could improve on is the drying room wasn't warm enough and wouldn't really dry anything, they did have a boot drying rack where they rotated boots, but we dried our stuff in our room so it was fine. The fan in the shower/toilet was non existent. The wifi was a little flaky but worked well enough. I would definitely stay here again, we had an excellent time.

Amazing, everyone is so nice and caring the bathrooms may be a little small but it makes up for it by the amazing location, people, buffet breakfast and happy hour. 10/10 would not go anywhere else.

Great location for skiing, walkable to the mountain. Staff was polite and accommodating.

Room was small and whole building was older for the price we paid. Hotel shuttle would not pick us up from the last bus of the night, walking in snow with kids and luggage was not fun. Would probably look elsewhere next time, but it did its purpose.

The hotel shuttle bus driver drives very recklessly and dangerously. He drove over my snowboard bag after dropping me off at the bus station.

Rude staff. No heating, uncomfortable room

The staff were extremely rude The heater didn’t work in our room, every time we asked for it to be fixed they said it would be fixed and then nothing would happen. The toilet ran all night, the pillow felt like sand

    7AndrewPosted on: 2-21-2025

Inclusive breakfast was fine, short walk to bus stop and one of the lifts, on-site ski hire was a bonus. Staff friendly even if comms were a bit hard sometimes (our fault for not speaking much Japanese I guess). Reasonable value. Offers pick up drop off (if the hotel vehicle is not already out)

A bit dated, wouldnt recommend the restaurant

Great hotel breakfast, convenient location, clean room, and lovely on-site onsen and sauana.
