Hotel Goryukan

We had a lovely stay here. We had twin rooms on the 4th floor that had great views of the mountain and were very large. The outdoor and indoor onset are great and a fabulous way to end a day of skiing. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast buffet offers a variety of things.

Some of the breakfast items weren’t very tasty.

The check in was quick and easy. The staff was very helpful. The room had an epic view. The onsen, cold plunge and sauna were worth it alone! Really close to the slopes and easy to get around town by walking.

No cons. Was really an awesome experience

The hotel didn't have a ramp for pushing luggage up and down the drop-off point in front of the check-in counter, and there was no one to help carry the bags. In my opinion, for this price, the service should have been better.

We like the location as it offered a fantastic view of the mountains unlike other accommodations located in the town. It was walkable to the town and a couple of the ski runs. The rooms were bigger than expected and comfortable and the onsen was very nice.

Can’t find any shortcomings. Dinner could be improved. The onsen hours could be extended in the morning to at least 11:00 am for the non skiers to enjoy

Onsen facility was wonderful

It looks like this property has had no maintenance since the 98 Olympics. Peeling wallpaper, floor tiles lifting, the beds were lumpy - awful. Couldnt rest.

Bed was a bit too soft

Hotel is in a great location, walking distance from the mountain and the village. The room was small but has a cracker of a view looking over the valley to the mountains on the other side.

Great place for a short stay, room probably too small for two if staying longer than a week, but that’s just m e, I like a bit more space to swing a cat!

The pools the location from the hill the staff were great.

The pillows need to be better and bed was uncomfortable for us but it was still alright have had worse. The shuttle bus to town and back didn’t work

Loved the Onsen , loved the location . Was fantastic to have breakfast included a cappuccino/coffee machine would have been an amazing addition

The hotel is excellent. We came early april at the end of ski season. Our room is facing the mountain and it has a gorgeous view. Location is great, close by to happo one bus terminal. Indoor & outdoor onsen, sauna is great. Breakfast is great. We definitely will return.

Staff were amazing, extremely helpful! Fabulous breakfast, happy hour and dinner. Beds very comfortable and rooms spacious.Short walk to base of Happo One and great to hire gear just down the road, they collect from hotel when finished.

The Onsen was absolutely fabulous….followed up with the water fountains and massage chairs. Such a treat. Generous sized room with comfortable bed and windows you can open. The restaurant was very good for breakfast and dinner and the staff absolutely top notch ?

The amount of walking in ski boots, carrying skis only to wait around for lengthy periods at bus stops…sometimes for buses that didnt arrive…was exhausting and disappointing and not what we expected. The hotel has a mini bus….it is a shame they don’t offer a shuttle service.The hotel has a really good bar/lounge area over looking the mountain and ski area. It would have been a wonderful thing if they had organised entertainment at happy hour given the hotel was full. This would have encouraged guests to mix and be social after skiing. It was a bit dull in that respect but there are other lively or chilled apres options quite close by. We would just have preferred to spend our time and funds at the hotel.

Five minute walk to HappoOne ski resort and centrally located to rental shops for all your sporting equipment needs. The Onsen is world class. The Water Bar is exceptional and surprising. The hospitality is world class. The skiing is affordable, convenient and memorable. Hakuba is full of warm smiles and hospitality. The breakfast is pretty good. The bar staff is top notch and accommodating. The front desk is knowledgeable, helpful, cheerful and Amazing!!!! The storage facilities are pretty good and again the experience was worth every yen. As T-1000 said, "I'll Be Back!"

I thought the property would be dated from the pitch but trust me it’s pretty modern and made you feel comfortable and right at home. I love the Japanese style and tweaks to the rooms as well.

Very comfortable. Room had a great view of the mountains and was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Bar/lounge area was also very nice to sit and relax and look at the views. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Very convenient ski storage with backdoor exit and free ski lockers, great variety buffet breakfast and dinner. Our room had panoramic mountain view. Outdoor onsen and very hot sauna with ice bath.

10 minute walk to Happo-One ski lifts, we had to walk up the stairs from the driveway to the reception level (no lift)
