This was my fourth time to visit the Joetsu Myoko Resort. I love how quiet and peaceful it usually is, and the amazing breakfast. However, this time I was quite dissapointed. It was summer holidays and so the hotel was very busy and noisy. I was told that the breakfast room had been refurbished - bigger and better. Breakfast was previously served in a room with amazing views of the golf course and the mountains - it was always peaceful and serene. Now, it is served in a much larger and louder room with no views of anything. The menu has also changed and did not have the same number of special dishes as it had before. The 'new and improved' breakfast was not an improvement in my opinion. The onsen was wonderful as always and the room was clean and comfy. I was also happily surprised when the desk staff spoke to me in English (first time in 4 visits and very much appreciated.) It is a long way to drive if you are not going there to play golf - I used to go for the amazing breakfast but will no longer be doing so.
The room space is large, the bathroom space is ok.
The shower head is relatively old, and at about four o'clock in the morning, I will be woken up by the sound of water flowing from the water pipe. This is the only biggest downside, it's a bit far from the station.
Near the hotel there is a beautiful landscape, mountains and forest. Good breakfast, lots of different fruits, European and Japanese cuisine.
The hotel is old and needs updating, especially the bathroom and toilet.

It would be better if children from 0-8 could enjoy the room by they can play and make some noise cause we went there for vacation and rest but the staff kindly told us to be quiet for the convenience of other customers i hope they can organize the rooms where all floor are stayed by family with kids and seperate the customer who is traveling without kids.,
