I can't fault Nagano APA.
The friendly staff and the delicious food, is always my favorite stay in Nagano City. Originally it was the help they gave me on all occasions orientating me to local activities that made me go back and back. I love Nagano in the Japanese Alps.

Nice hotel. Room was as per pictures and was clean. The size was quite big compared to kther APA. They had a really good system to leave luggage before check-in and after check-out. Staff was very helpful, friendly and polite. One couldn't speak English and kindly used a translation app to communicate with us. Laundromat discount available if you stay at the hotel.
Not a big negative but it's a short walk to the station. Just something to consider if you have to carry luggage. Pillows were super flat for some reason?

Nice hotel near the railway station. Short Walking distance to the temple . Quiet room . Very clean with amenities in the bathroom. I am not complaining about the size as we all know in Japan the rooms are on the smaller side .

Extremely small rooms. We were there for skiing and I’m glad we at least had a car to have our gear in, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to fit in the room.

The experience all starts with check in right!? So it started bad. A family of 4 with 2 kids and they said they didn’t have adjoining rooms (like Osaka APA). We get to our room and there’s an adjoining door!!! ???The rooms were super small. Couldn’t get out of the double bed without climbing over the other person.
Small room. Check in staff weren’t helpful. We did extra hour check out (1,000 yen per hour per room) and because they wouldn’t give us adjoining rooms they wanted to do 2 credit card payments for each room.

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. They provided all of the amenities we needed. A short walk from the station or there is also a huge parking lot across the road if you drive. The staff was very nice.
The room is VERY small, which for us wasn’t a problem! It’s just a good thing to keep in mind if you don’t want to be too close to your friend. The pillows were terrible though.
