Hotel Artheim

The location is very convenient and the hotel is very clean.

There was a discrepancy between the booking.com invoice and what the hotel charged me. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they could not help me, but referred me to booking.com. I feel that the hotel should have rectified the situation on site.

The location is pretty hard to find

Quiet and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Walking distance to everything.

Decor, while standard, was nice and clean. Breakfast was decent. Staff were very friendly. It was close to where I had to work at, which was good.

Parking was a bit of a hassle (we had to be parked behind other cars). The instructions to access Netflix did not work. The description of the "deluxe double room" we had stated that the standout feature was "the hot tub". There was a tub, yes, but it was not a hot tub.

staff did not speak English, at all! so annoying! no i structuons in Korean on message and I was lost on my way.

they are stingy with stuff like shampoo etc. They'll sell you a travel kit for 3000won but its kinda sad to do it that way

They are helpful and can talk a little english as well. There a lot of things near the hotel. Markets and sights, restaurants and shops. But the stations are far by walk. The room was cleaned and very good decorations but no bathrooms sets...

They put laundry bag in our room which we have filled up but when I came down the reception they told us that they dont offer laundry service then they tried to help us by showing the way to the nearest laundry office. We came back at the end of the day (afzer almost 8-9 hours) and we found our clothes on the streets but we paid still. We paid 60.000 won which is very expensive. And it was still not cleaned properly. The laundry service is a shame.

Outstanding breakfast buffet with a nice view on the city! Also the bed was really comfortable. Good shower.

It was warm in the room and we couldn’t work out how to turn on the airco. When we switched it on, it turned itself off after a few minutes.

Excellent location close to the centre, Sajik Park and good restaurants.

Well located, tidy room, very friendly staff

The hotel is really okay, but it is one of those pseudo style hotels that wants to appear grandeur but lacks of more subtle quality; e.g. the silicone in the bathroom shows fancy metallic effect but the installation of the sink is poor, making gulpy noises, and when you use the shower the whole bathroom is flooded because the intake is located at the opposite corner, and the light is as bright as in an OR…Also, note that the room appearance is not as cosy as shown on the pictures with wooden floors and all that but rather achromatic - anyway, these are probably only personal sensibilities…

Location is great as it is walkable to the downtown. Staffs is friendly. Facilities are fine

Light in the room is weak and bad, makes the room not cosy at all.

Hotel is awesome! Located in the central tourist spot (not the geographical city center, thought the central part of all the places that tourists usually visit in Gwangju). There are a lot of restaurants and attractions nearby. Transportation is good as well.Hotel itself is fully renovated, rooms are in good condition, clean and spacious. Personal speaks English well.

Sound isolation was not as perfect as you might hope for it to be, sometimes you could hear people talking in the halls or in the room above (assume they we loud).

It was a short walk from the subway station, and easy to find. Nice breakfast, kind staff. Clean and big rooms.

Surrounding areas were developing, so not as clean etc. But not the hotels fault.

Comfortable bed

I was given a room facing a brick wall so it had little natural light.

Room was ok. Good position.

No tea bags at breakfast (which was absurd as they were in the room. We asked for them, were told to wait and nothing happened).

The hotel is perfectly located in the city. Everything you need is in walking distance and the main bus stops (e.g.to express bus, national park) are a 10-15 min walk away. Staff was friendly, you had everything you need and we the room was spacious.

The water from the walk-in shower was flowing into the other parts of the bathroom when showering for more than a minute or two.
