Brown Dot Hotel Sinan

The location was convenient for me for attending a conference nearby. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. It was a business hotel experience, which is exactly what I planned for. Nothing more.

The front desk staff had limited English but we got by with a translation app and my limited Korean added to the mix. Others might find this more challenging. The breakfast was disappointing, mostly various forms of instant noodles plus some cereal and a bit of fruit. A note for other travelers, though this wasn't a problem for me: The location is far from the city center though there is a neighborhood of restaurants and convenience stores a short walk away.

Booked 2 rooms online but when arrived the person behind counter took my card making me pay for 2 rooms again even though I showed booking.com information. Clearly a love motel as there was 18+ stuff in room, would recommend looking for somewhere else.

The hotel room is clean and comfortable. It is easy to park our car in the hotel parking lot. The hotel is located not too far fromthe university and there are eateries along the street.

The washing machine and tumble dryer are located outside the room, but they are big enough for our load of washing. There is no kitchen although it was advertised with kitchen when we booked. The automatic light in the toilet turned off while we were having showers, but not a big issue though.

We basically just looked for a rather central hotel to stay and wondered what to expect for such a low price. However, we were positively surprised. The hotel offers anything you could need and even more. We particularly liked the PC on our room that allowed us to even build up a VPN-connection and was connected to the fairly large TV. Really incredible value-for-money!!!

Not that it would have bothered us really, but as to be expected, it is more of a self-service hotel. However, when we had a question, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Extremely good value for money.The staff are very kind and helpful. There is a free breakfast and everything you need in the room (skin care products, free water…).There is even a free washing machine and dryer.

The hotel is located very close to the train station and bus stations, so it’s easy to commute from there. The whole building is modern, the room was very well equipped and spacious, breakfast was rather simple but just typical for South Korean hotels. Many good restaurants are around, too.

The reason why I’m rating it only 7/10 is because during our 4 days stay we didn’t have a chance to see an English speaking employee even though in the description they claim they speak it.

This place has everything I could ever wanted, and then some that I didn't expect.Simple and easy check in and most things are self explanatory. Key card provided for access, spacious room, large queen bed and large bathroom with rain shower and Japanese style toilet. Large desk area, an area to hang your clothes with plenty of space for large baggage. Huge TV, mini fridge with daily water, and computer for use.The room is clean, daily with all consumables replenished daily as part of room service. Air conditioner, black out curtains with sound proof windows. Free laundry and free breakfast included, with tea and water provided in the lobby.I was very happy with this room.

These has minor bearings on my overall stay, but things I did notice.English is minimal. The staff will try their best to communicate in English but will use an app on their phone to assist with communication, which was a great resolution.The washing machine and dryer instructions are in Korean, but staff will happily assist and easy to use thereafter, detergent free also. Air conditioning is accessed by the TV remote.Despite the large bathroom, my room advertised a bathtub but there was none. Also, a shower screen/curtain would have been nice to contain the water from splashing everywhere.All electronics will turn off when the card key is removed, thus if charging something while gone, it's not going to happen.The lights of the LED indicators from the air conditioner and light switches illuminates the room at night. Had to cover up the switches to achieve some darkness.Walls are not that sound proof. Can hear the noise from my neighbours.Again, I would come back should I be back in Gwangju in the future.

The room was very comfortable, everyone I talked to was super helpful, and I really appreciated the help with my laundry.

Rooms are spacious and well-equipped. Good breakfast is being served. Personnel is very helpful.

Location. I had not realised that the hotel is close to the train station, but very very far from metro stations and bus terminal.The area is not very attractive, mainly car and mechanic enterprises.

-plastic mattress cover on bed was noisy-room bit noisy from trains if windows left open, but very quiet if windows closed.

It was one big surprise…

This place was not what we expected. This hotel is a love hotel. In the room there was a sex catalog provided next to the bed and with the amenities there were condoms. Totally not what we are used too from this hotel chain from our previous experiences in other places. Apparently when you can enter the hotel unseen, there is Netflix and a big game computer is in the room, you need to think twice. We decided to stay as it was late and the room looked clean. We booked for 2 nights, we only stayed 1. At dawn we left because of all the noise… The owner wasn’t friendly.

Spacious and well-equipped room. Clean and comfortable. Had a very good night of sleep.It was a good base to explore Gwangju and surroundings, as it's close to a plethora of local and regional bus stops.The staff were all very helpful.Very good breakfast for how affordable the room was.As of the time of this review, everything seemed new and in amazing working order.

That was a great stay at Brown Dot Hotel Sinan. I would definitely recommend it and would come back if I go to Gwangju again.

The breakfast was a bit light though.

Large room with enough space. The hotel is located at Gwangju's main railway station, but it is not very busy. The hotel is very quiet despite the close proximity of the railway line and the road. Nevertheless, the Asian Culture Center (20 min) or the U-Square Bus Terminal (20 min) can be reached quickly by bus. There is also a bus to Mudeungsan National Park and Juknokwon Bamboo Forest in front of the hotel. It has supermarkets and few restaurant nearby. The staff is friendly and helps in the best possible way despite language barriers. Breakfast is included. The hotel also offers the possibility to do your own laundry for free.

The cleanliness in the laundry room was not so good (hair, laundry lying around, dust, etc...), furthermore there was no dryer. There were only small towels to dry yourself after showering. The shower and toilet are not separated by a curtain or partition, so when you take a shower the whole bathroom is full of water.

The room was good, the tv with Netflix was very nice. Breakfast was simple yet good.

The rooms arent soundproof, we could hear our neighbors.

The personnal was very kind to us.They show us how to put airconditioner, we ask for more towels and also called a taxi for us.The breakfast was good, with a various stuff to eat.The room was clean.Buses are near and train station near too.

Only the area around the station feel unsafe but nothing happend when we went out.
