    Pros +

    • Spacious space for Japanese hotel standards. Close to the beach. Clean.
    • Food and hospitality is great. Fuss free and helpful. They have english speaking staffs:)The rooms are big and comfortable.
    • Nice, well set up apartment that was perfect for a 3 night stay. Made good use of the kitchen, fridge and washer/dryer, with the table and chairs on the balcony being a good touch.

    Cons -

    • A bit far away from bus stop, better stop at Mabuyu bus stop. Google map shows the stop will take you 15 minutes to walk.
    • We regret not taking up their dinner plans as it had to be informed to them 3 days in advance. We were thinking of going aft tore tore dinner but we change yo lunch. So we had difficulty finding dinner around the area to get a big group eating. and its hard to get dinner restaurants (local eats) around the location. Will be a good spot to drive up as there is enough parking slots instead of public transport.
    • The sofa is too low and the TV on the wall of the bedroom could be in a better place to be viewed from the living room.

location is fantastic, breakfast was also excellent, little expensive compared to NZ

loved it perhaps provide beach umbrellas etc to rent. Snorkelling .

The hotel serves good Japanese breakfast. Rooms were decently big. Complimentary parking at the hotel is also available.

I booked a family room that came with a washer. However, there is no dryer.

Good location, good breakfast, value for money. Staff are helpful. Would recommend.

Very close to the beach - about a 7-8 min walk. Free parking in the front and back of the hotel if you’re traveling by car. Breakfast was delicious.

The onsen bath area was not the cleanest, but nothing to complain about.

The hotel is located very conveniently, and is a great value given the proximity to the beach! (a quick 5 minute walk away)There are vending machines for late-night tea or beer runs, whichever suits your preference! You can wear a yukata to walk around the town in, which is quite fun to do!

My initial visit to the onsen was lovely; it's clear that the hotel is mid-renovation, the rooms are quite clean, but the onsen itself looks like it needs an update or deep scrub. Nevertheless, my first visit was relaxing. As I was leaving, a few staff members entered the onsen. I went in again later on, and it was so dirty. There was what looked like food particles (fish maybe?) in the drains AND in the onsen bath itself. I couldn't stay and left quickly.

The new, clean and private apartment (the spacious laundry/changing area with a washing machine in the superior apartment. The decently equipped kitchen with a regular sized fridge). The convenient location (the relatively close (uphill) distance to the beautiful beach. The adventure park is very close as well). Also, we appreciated the hussle free parking.

Lots of ants at the entry area of the apartment, but the staff gave us the spray to deter them. The aged main building has a carpeted floor and the smell of the building felt like the air filters need attention.

It is so cute and clean, I’ve loved the onsen bath , the jacuzzi jet was so fun ? and I had feel it awesome on my back neck. I’ve loved the coffee ☕️, it is so delicious ? , And the place is so quiet ????

The morning breakfast is so poor.

On site onsen has Chrysta hotel chain shower heads and amenities. Genders Rotated according to guest numbers I think (1 large & 1 small bath). Footbath outside reception but didn't use.Able to eat own food in restaurant area and use microwave, free chopsticks, hot water. 1st floor Vending machines with soft drinks and alcohol. Staff helpful.New towels left in a box outside door each day.Room specific shoe boxes at entrance with pre-sterilised slippers.Easy access to the beach, though hill is quite steep.

There were hairs on the bathroom floor when we arrived. The duvet cover had stains. No view from room window.Restaurant tables were not cleaned between meals/guests.As with all Chrysta hotels the bed was very hard.

The hotel is quiet and has very good soundproofing, especially for a Japanese hotel. My room was on the ground floor and I couldn’t hear any outside sounds. The room was very clean, larger than expected and has a nice onsen on the property. The beds are wide and comfortable and the room contains a standard unit bath.It is about a 8-10 walk from the beach uphill, there are not any sidewalks, but Shirahama drivers are courteous and the traffic is not heavy in the area. I do not mention this as a negative, just something to be aware of.

My only complaint regards the smell from the air conditioner. It has an odor (not mold, but something). I informed the front staff of the issue, hopefully they clean the unit.

Location is goodRooms tidy Bed comfortable

Seems like you have to pay for everything from parking to cleaning your room. We stayed for 3 nights and to get our room cleaned would cost us. The hotel itself isnt bad but for what you pay you get very little. There was dirty laundry in the guest elevators for half a day. The breakfast is quite expensive for what you get. Front desk was unattended when we needed to sort payment bills and check in process is lengthy. Kettle in room with no cups or any service tea/coffee.
