Dormy Inn Express Kakegawa

Everything. Free snaçks. Onsen. Free evening noodles were saver.

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station. The area is exceptionally clean. The hotel’s exterior and the interior was exceptionally clean as well. The staff was very accommodating, friendly and courteous. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was very comfortable. The rooms are conveniently located and has elevator access. There was no foul odor present. The room was clean, well maintained and will lit. The bedding was very comfortable. All amenities were present inside the room and adequate for our stay. Local stores, as well as a supermarket are located nearby and accessible by short walk or by taxi. The checkout process was very simple. Again, I’d emphasize the friendlinesst and courtesy of the staff. The level service exceeded my expectations.

Most of the lights inside of the room are activated by inserting the room key into a card slot. The key must be left inside of the card slot to keep the room lit. There are some switches that work independently of the automated light control. The frustrating part was that the lights would turn off after a while. This made it difficult to navigate the room during the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. This in of itself is not a dealbreaker.

Facilities, cleanliness, comfort, location. The best part is the onsen and nightly ramen.

Most hotels are situated on the southern side of Kakegawa Station while Dormy Inn Express Kakegawa is located where you may get a spectacular view of the Kakegawa castle. The onsen opens from 3pm to 10am of the next day. You can use the washing machines for free and the dryers with a small fee. There are many restaurants to choose from around the area.

Rooms can be two times more expensive during weekends than the rest of the week.

Free use of the washer while that of the dryer is ¥100 / 20 minutes. Microwave ovens are available. Free coffee. Hotspring is also free for guests staying in the hotel. Excellent view of the castle.

The pillow was stiff. It is possible to open the window but there is no mosquito net.

There were free public baths for both genders (women’s one had a code to ensure privacy).Room was clean, lots of towels provided and provided bathrobes for the baths.Really close to some amazing food options just down the street.

The lights were a bit tricky to get right.

The room was very clean and comfortable with a great view of Kakegawa Castle from the 10th floor. The onsen was lovely and the free water, ice creams, and night-time ramen were an added bonus.

Wonderful staff, even held our luggage for us 2-3 hours after checkout time. Also let us check early for small fee.The room was nice, had enough space for both our luggage and felt good to be in.

The pillows were small and rock hard. Not sure if they have other types we could have asked for.

I stayed at Kakegawa with the purpose of takin Oigawa Railway to Oku-oi kojo Station (奥大井湖上駅). unfortunately part of train route was suspended due to landslide. This news is unknown to foreigners. I asked the counter staff when i sensed something was not right as Gmap was not able to produce a proper route for me to go to Oku-oi kojo Station. I spoke to him late at night and he gave full explanations the next morning. His spirit of dedication really impressed me.

The location is 20 minute walk from train station. During the walk we found many interesting eating places along the street. My suggestion is for the hotel to produce a map showing the English names and some details of these eating places. It will help us plan our food places quickly.

Everything was great, clean comfortable room, really nice onsen, rich breakfast for 1800yen per person. Really close to the train station and the main streets of Kakegawa.

Very clean and well-designed for a small hotel. Onsen on the top floor which provides a good view of the city. The hotel provides free coffee which you can grab on the way out in the morning.

Plenty of freebies - ramen at night, probiotic drinks in the morning. Onsen was great but can be crowded

Great food - breakfast with delicious local ingredients, free midnight ramen and ice pops :DOnsen with nice city view.

Would be great if staff can speak English.

The breakfast is good ?, and onsen also good , laundry ? facilities are good , washing is free ! And so sweet they prepared small treats on that floor for all customers.

The pillows !! The pillows are far too hard and uncomfortable ?.

We stayed 2 nights in Kagegawa for the cutiest shoebill --Futaba san. One night we had chosen to stay at a hotel near to the south station and the 2nd night to the north station--Dormy Inn. By comparison, I have to say that we enjoyed much more to stay at Dormy for its facilities & more welcoming, cozy atmosphere. The hotel is attentive to services in many ways even it's farer to stay there to the Kakegawa Kachoen but it is definitely worth-well to do so. There's a walk distance restaurant justa cross from the hotel to serve good foods also. The hotel breakfast was nice, too!

The location is great and the facilities are clean and comfortable! Although the baths were very small, they were clean and beautifully designed.

The onsen doesn’t allow tattoos. Although I have small inconspicuous tattoo (and never had any problem with it before now I thought it would be okay to use the onsen) a female staff member who was cleaning and checking the sauna facilities asked me to leave because of it. I understand the rule but her manner of speaking to me and touching my body to check if my tattoo was real or not was highly inappropriate and unacceptable. Since I was in the sauna my blood pressure was very high and the uncomfortably situation made for a very unpleasant interaction with her.
