The property is a leisurely 3-minute walk from Shizuoka Station and is flanked by two 7-11s. For that alone they deserve 5 stars out of 5.One can tell that Sun Palace hotel staff take great pride in their establishment and service. They were attentive and sunny (excuse the pun) when facing guests -- and they were never exaggerated in their displays of cheeriness. One would feel as though they truly wanted to give us a restful stay. The building, though slightly old, is well-maintained. Its bedrooms and bathrooms are spotless. Their cleaning crew do an excellent job every day.大喜んで、本当におせいわになりました。ありがとうございました！

Excellent location close to station, slightly larger room, clean with good amenities. Friendly and helpful staff, would recommend.

Perfect accommodation. Staff super nice and kind, location very handy, literally 3 minutes walk from the train station and not far from city center.Room quite spacious and silent, with all the necessary, plus no short of amenities (toothpaste, toothbrush, slippers...). With a comfortable and pretty big bed.Neighborhood not very lively, but there are a few good restaurants just across the hotel.And all this comes with a very convenient price.

Maybe the only little downside is the check in time, provided only from 3:30 pm...

The location is very near to Shizuoka station which is an A++. It is an old hotel but well kept and maintained. Clean...Clean...very clean. Breakfast was either Japanese or Western and both are good. Room size enough for 2 persons with 2 medium size luggage plus still got room to move around. Front desk, friendly and helpful.

Super clean. Great Location (near Train Shizuoka Station) Near Restaurant + Convenient StoresVery Quiet Area.I stayed at the same Place in August 2024. I forgot the phone Magnetic PowerBank. I picked it up 4 months later (this Trip) December 2024. Very grateful to the staff

Everything was great

Close to Shizuoka station & lots of restaurant nearby. Good breakfast foods & it's a less crowded hotel too.

Pillow is not really great. But considering it's price, I think it's acceptable. Probably you can ask for a new pillow at the lobby desk.

It's just next to our favorite restaurant and there are valuable parking for us.For the location is very nice. Just next to Shizuoka station.

The toilet was with little smell.

Really nice and close to the station, nice sized TV and free included bottle of water. I also left my case there before checking in later and when I did check in it was a lovely surprise that my case had already been put in my room!

There’s an Irish pub on one side of the hotel (the side I stayed) and it was loud until quite late at night. As I wasn’t able to make the air con cooler I tried to sleep with the windows open but it was just too noisy. This isn’t the hotel’s fault but it definitely made my stay a little frustrating.

Clean. Nice lobby, friendly staff. Good breakfast for the cost of the hotel. Great location. Great for a one night stay.

Walls a little thin. Can hear late night revellers chatting in the corridor. One or two extra tea bags might’ve been nice.

The rooms were compact and comfortable. The check-in process was very smooth thanks to the helpful staff members. Location wise, it was in walking distance from the station and had many car parking spots nearby, making it easily accesible by both train and car.

Short walk from Shizuoka Station. Plenty of food/drink options near by.Guinness on tap right next door to the hotel!!Room was simple and small, but met my needs. Very clean.Breakfast was a choice between a Japanese or western breakfast and was served (not a buffet). Very tasty and sufficiently portioned.Self-serve coffee, water and curry was good!

Corridors are not temperature controlled. They were hot and humid during the stay (summer time).One tiny pillow in room.

Great location - just a few minutes from the station yet very quiet. The building is old, but very well maintained and as a result it's in a very good condition. It felt way better than some 4* hotels I've been to.

We were given a corner room on the top floor which has an extra ledge at the corners which were big enough to put our suitcases and other stuff. This made the room seemed bigger than the states size. Thank you Sun Palace for giving us that room!Location was also very near Shizuoka station yet was on a quiet street. Maybe restaurants and convenience stores nearby, including at Shizuoka station.

The curtains were just a bit too short and let in some light at the bottom where it met the ledge. A bit annoying but could be solved by putting items in front of the curtains to block the light at the bottom.

It's pretty close to the Shizuoka Station, making things very convenient. After staying in two different hotels in Tokyo, I moved on to this one which cost about half as much as the previous two per night. As far as rooms went, this was a lot more spacious than I anticipated. For half the price of a 2/3 star hotel in Tokyo, you get a room in this hotel that's twice as big with the same amenities.

I honestly don't know what else I'd ask for in this case. There's breakfast available for a reasonable cost if I wanted it. Free flowing coffee would've been nice, but also a bit much to ask. The vending machine at the 6th floor suited me just fine.

Very clean. Friendly staff in reception. Really close to Shizuoka JR Station and convenience store.

Only a few minutes away from Tokyo Station; comfortable room; really nice public bath and Women Only area and excellent value for money

Good value budget hotel in a pleasant location 2 minutes from the train station.
