The views especially from the outdoor bath. Also having a convenience store on the premises was, well, convenient. Also it is in effect in the middle of a park.

Gorgeous sunrise and Sakurajima views from the onsen. We had dinner at the sushi restaurant and it was pretty good.

the location of the restaurants etc is somewhat confusing. just ask for help if lost.

Loved everything about the hotel. Peaceful location, fabulous onsen, exceptional staff and great food options on site.

The sushi restaurant was not my favorite

One of my favorite hotels in Japan with an amazing view of Sakurajima, can’t think of a better rotenburo location that I’ve been to.

Check-in here is always messy, I don’t look forward to the process and getting done with it.

Luxury hotel for a great price. Delicious food, amazing onsen, clean and comfortable room, kind staff that speak English if needed, all in an amazing location.

Someone knocked really hard on my door a little after 5am, got up and couldn’t see anyone in the hallway..

The room was quiet and comfortable. The beds are a little firm but still okay. The view is amazing, and taking a bath in the outdoor onsen with that same view was incredible. The staff was helpful and courteous.

Nothing really. Having to take a shuttle down to the parking garage was a little inconvenient, but given the geography I don't think it can really be helped, and at least you don't have to walk up that hill.

Everything at the hotel is exceptional from the view of Sakurajima and the city of Kagoshima to the onsen, spa services, complementary bus, and on site shopping. One of the best hotels in southern Japan!

The onsen is absolutely phenomenal, and the room with a volcano view is worth every bit—truly unforgettable. The hotel itself is peaceful, with beautifully maintained grounds and exceptional staff.A special mention goes to Concierge Gotanda, who is extraordinary. She speaks English very well and was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. Her kindness, grace, and attentiveness made a real difference.This is my first time in Kagoshima, and I’m so happy that I still have two more weeks to enjoy this lovely city and its people while staying at the wonderful Shiroyama Hotel. I love the relaxed atmosphere of Kagoshima and its surrounding natural beauty. I definitely made the right choice.

The sushi restaurant in the hotel was not my favorite however the food at the traditional japanese restaurant next door, with a view of a small indoor waterfall from your table, was absolutely divine!

Breakfast was excellent.

The bath temperature was a bit too low. The steam sauna temperature was not adequate; I got out after 1 minute.

They have great hot springs and great breakfast buffet.

Breakfast - a of choices and different things to eat. The value for breakfast was goodOnsen - can use a little updating, however the cold plunge, outdoor hot tub and sauna were all amazingView - made the hotel worth the money

Parking was a little confusing. It was nice that for the further lot, someone was able to pick us up and drop us off, however we didn't realize that there was another parking lot that was closer to the 1st floor entrance. This could have been explained to us better. Check-in - The staff was very nice and responsive to our questions however, there could have been better explanation about the different restaurants, and amenities available (including the different parking lots)Gym - Would have loved to use the gym, however there was an additional fee to just use the gym (~$17 per day) which I thought was a little ridiculous because we already paid quite a bit for the hotel already.

amazing hotel and i love that they offer a few smaller rooms for a great price. book through the Japan travel site and you can even get an extra discount. the concierge also helped me set up shipping a package that was a bit out of the ordinary and went above and beyond to ensure my package would reach me! could not recommend enough

Too few shuttle buses to city center

The breakfast was great. it had a large variety of choice everything that I tasted was good. The view was breathtaking. I look forward to returning in the near future

I wished that I had more time to stay in the hotel to experience more things like the other resturants and the live music along with the spa area.

Really nice resort. Plenty of restaurants & stores for essentials. Love the spa & osen.Concierge very helpful for English speakers.

Making any changes onsite are quite difficult. Also, beds are very hard. Not comfortable.

From the great service, views of the active volcano Sakurajima, the outdoor hot spring (onsen), food, rooms and facilities, this hotel is the best one in Kagoshima.

Very upscale, staff and facilities were very nice. Great views.

Located away from everything, but the regularly running shuttle made it easy to get to and from the hotel.
