JR Kyushu Hotel Kagoshima

Location is wonderful! You don't have to drag heavy bags far from the JR station! A godsend! Near two big malls, plenty of food options and the tram stop for exploring further out. The procedure for safe-keeping luggage was also great.

Nothing much - was really a comfortable stay. Rooms are small but typical by Japanese standards.

The location is excellent — it’s directly connected to the JR station, giving you indoor access to a FamilyMart, bakery, and souvenir shops without having to go outdoors.YouTube is available on the TV.

There are only 2 washing machines and 2 dryers at the north wing. The TV does not show the status of the washing machines and dryers.

Compared to other JR properties I've stayed in, this one was not as nice, and the breakfast was not as appealing.

Most convenient location — you don’t even have to exit the train station to get to the hotel entrance! Plenty of food options nearby, and the supermarket is a two minute walk. Staff members were courteous and hotel amenities were very good for its price.

Small room, Rated bed size was 130-150cm, in reality it was close to 130cm

location is very good, you can enter from the Kagoshima-Chuo station. Very clean facility. And bonus points for self-luggage service, which can be used before check in and after check out.

The location is perfect, breakfast is OK, good to have the local food in the breakfast.

The room is not clean, if I don't turn on the air-condition, the room has a strong smell. The cover of the blanket is very loose, it shows a big stain of blood or something. I have shown the pictures to the front desk when I checked out.

Very well located - stayed in the north side rooms - hotel feels new - perfectly located over a mall and a food court - Only paid 1,000 yen to park my car in the Amu Plaza garage with a coupon given by the hotel.

Amazing location and incredibly friendly staff.

Only stayed for a night and was hoping to get a good view but I didn't get it. No biggie really.

The location is super convenient as it is within the Kagoshima-Chuo station. Travelling to other parts of Kagoshima is easy.

Breakfast is a bit costly compared to JR Kyushu Hotel Miyazaki.

Very good value. Nice, clean and modern interior. Location can’t be better. It’s literally in the JR station. Very high tech too. The luggage storage uses a card system which doesn’t require any attention from the staff when you come back to pick up your luggage.

Nothing I can think of. Maybe a bit more space but I’m happy with the size which is way better than some small hotel rooms in Tokyo.

The hotel has a direct connection and entrance to the station (in consequence with the shopping mall) which is very good, close to everything! Also, the staff was very helpful with out luggage (storing it before the check in and helping sending it to the next hotel). The room is spatious, the bathroom is also big, and the breafast is very good

Walk right into the hotel from Kagoshima Chuo station - that felt great after a long train journey. Check in was pretty painless. The room was slightly dated but felt comfortable and clean. The facilities in the hotel were good. I liked the laundry/vending machine/ice machine area. It also comes with a self serve coin operated baggage check. Good info and amenities at the front desk. Good shopping options and some attractions nearby. You are near the tram to take you to ferries or other activity spots in the city.

Some of the amenities should just have been available in the room as standard. The hotel had made a mistake and set up a third bed that we didn't need, but I appreciated that they realised this before we mentioned it and removed it at a time that suited us. Some good restaurants in the area but it was somewhat limited compared to other areas you could stay.The wifi here was very bad. It kept cutting out and was often just weak.

A bit noisy from the trains.I asked to refill my reusable water bottle, they say they cannot give water for free. Maybe they assumed I wanted bottled water, for me this is not a question of money, it’s a matter of sustainability and environment.

Location is very convenient, accessible from within the station. Approachable and attentive staff. Twin bed room is spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Bathroom amenities were sufficient.

Shower mixer hot water was not consistent.
