- Views were great. Good buffet, happy hour with sake tasting!
- I didn’t know what to expect since the hotel’s rating wasn’t very high, but it truly exceeded our expectations and we immediately booked an extra night. The building is a bit old, so the room facilities aren’t perfect, but the overall experience more than made up for it.The onsen, the excellent breakfast, the complimentary bar each evening, and the warm, welcoming staff created a genuine sense of home. One thing to note: you’ll need a car, bike, or a taxi to reach convenience stores or restaurants, as nothing is very close by.Overall, a surprisingly wonderful stay with a lot of heart.
- I enjoyed the beautiful onsen.
Cons -
- Some of the facilities were “used” and children noisy
- I was disappointed by the cleanliness. My room refrigerator had old candy and napkins stuck to the inside and it made me doubt the cleanliness of the room.
- It was very quiet during the day and wasn't much to do at the resort, so not like a resort you would go to in Bali. I guess the idea is that you stay for a night and explore the local area. It was also school holidays when we were staying so was quite busy in the pool.

We liked the afternoon social time with snacks and drinks, this was a bonus we didn't know was included in our stay!

The rooms are spacious and clean. The onsen is just amazing. I chose the plan with both dinner and breakfast and I don’t regret my choice. The food was diverse and delicious with all kinds of different dishes and flavors.
Great price, awesome staff, good selection of buffet breakfast and dinner
The onsen was great and probable the only and main point. Large room with futon. Free sake tasting for guests
Bit empty
Beautiful hotel with onsen. Staff were very accommodating.
Not many food options close other than the dinner buffet.
Spa, room with ocean view and staff were all great. Thank you.
The buffet was indeed plentiful but very little option for vegetarians. One soy ‘mince’ nachos specifically for vegan and salad. Pretty much everything else contained meat or fish. Even the rice and other side dishes. Would love to see more options without meat or fish
I liked the old world charm & elegance, the onset was lovely
The coin laundry wasn’t accessible after 10pm
We had a very nice room facing the sea.The staff was caring and very helpfulWe enjoyed the onsen.
Wada-San at the front desk was professional, welcoming, patient and helpful. After arriving, we ending up staying two additional days. We particularly enjoyed the social hours and the onsen, which was one of the best that we’ve come across during our past month in Japan. Our room was quite spacious. Many tour buses pull up to this hotel and unload groups of guests, but we did not feel overlooked or undervalued. The buffet dinner was not of the highest quality but was certainly worthy just to experience - something for everyone is offered. Plenty of parking available.
Our room had a wonderful view but was quite dated and “tired” from many years of use.
The room had a lot of wear on the carpet, but overall it was well-maintained. It was very spacious and had a convenient layout, which made for a comfortable stay. The hot spring, in particular, was large and well-equipped, and the sauna temperature was just right. The lounge area where you could relax after the hot spring bath was also great. I highly recommend it.
The nearest convenience store is 1.3 km away, so if you arrive late at night, it's recommended to prepare some snacks and drinks in advance.
Everything! Big room with great views, the onsen area was one of the best that we have been to. and the outside hot pool was really good. The free drinks and snacks in the lounge were terrific, and the sake was top shelf.food in the restaurant was also really nice.
The spa and social hours were great. The restaurant meals were delicious and had plenty of options.
The shower's temperature in our room did not work properly, it would go from hot to cold without touching the dial, but would mostly remain cold even when turned all the way up.
The staff are very polite and attentive. The rooms are very large. There’s 2 happy hours with free drinks and snacks. The second happy hour is very social and it the whole hotel joins in.
The room was very very tired. Aside from TV and kettle absolutely nothing has been updated since the early 80s. The room and linens were clean but 40 years of wear and tear has taken its toll. Decor was very shabby, furniture worn out and carpets faded and stained. It’s a no smoking hotel but a the room still held a strong tobacco smell ( I guess from before the 2020 smoking ban)The hotel is billed as a resort but the pool was closed and the onsen was off limits (no tattoos allowed, no exceptions). The hotel was busy but it seemed to be atop over accommodation for coach tours.
Breakfast buffet style with amazing views. Make sure to book ahead. Has nice SPA with small outdoor area.
Rooms are somewhat outdated. Not the best option for individual travellers. Caters mostly to bus tours and their needs. Adding meals spontaneously very costly.
A little old but Nice hotel room. They gave us a nice ocean view room.
No other choice for food other than the buffet. It was a bit pricey. There is no place to have a cup of coffee other than the buffet breakfast. Did not want to pay ¥2600 for a coffee.
It was high up and staff were very nice
It’s aged and old. Definitely 80/90s Japanese era hotel vibes. The accomodation needs an overhaul.
The Japanese room was large and airy, though there were no real futons, but low matrasses instead. The free lounge extensive drinks and snacks offer was a an unexpected bonus. The whole place is immaculately clean and the surroundings are beautifully maintained.
What we didn't expect in a Mercure hotel:a small, outdated tv screen without any international channel and a narrow plastic bathroom cubicle, the kind of which you encounter in every cheap hotel. Also, there was only one big light in the room, no side lights
