- The airconditioning switched it self off at approx 1:00 am. I could not sleep any more since it must have been over 30 deg celcius. The breakfest stopped at 8:30 which is absurd. We missed it. On top of that there was no coffee at the reception area. they shut it down during checkout time. In short a horrible stay

This was a true, bonafide, traditional Japanese ryokan experience! There is so much history that it justifies the facilities being older. The whole experience was wonderful, especially the kind and excellent staff.
The building does allow smoking, so be extra wary of what kind of room you are booking as only certain ones are guaranteed non-smoking. If you are even a tiny bit sensitive to smoke, you may not enjoy staying here.

i dont like the smoking bedroom at the begining. but they changed it one day later. the smoking room smell just awful. the hotel is in general a bit old. but people are friendly.
