    Pros +

    • We really enjoyed the space and views from the Utage room, plenty of space to spread out. The public bath was very nice though it could get busy at times. Kochi was a lovely place to visit, the castle is a must. Walking to and from the castle was pleasant if you have the time, otherwise cabs were easy to order and not too expensive. We had a nice dinner at a Chinese restaurant across the canal from the hotel. Once we understood the procedure for the parking garage we found that it worked just fine, just don't expect to be able to walk to your car if you left something behind.
    • This hotel has good quality items and many activities. We joined their local supermarket tour and their cultural show. Friendly staff and clean hotel room.
    • Location and fun room design and layout. Most comfortable beds in all our Japanese hotel stays.

    Cons -

    • The breakfast buffet was OK, if you came towards the end of service the selections got a little sparse. The staff had limited english abilities but that was not a huge barrier. The hotel does seem to have more of a focus on Japanese visitors and not overseas visitors which is understandable for this part of Japan.
    • There is tower car park for a fee and during peak period, may have to wait for a while to get your car.
    • Need thicker towels.

the room is pretty big, the layout is very comfortable. Breakfast is great, I really love all on the buffet line. It is healthy and decorative. the performance at night was really impressive, we had a great time there.

the parking policy is a bit confused; the hotel requires us to pay 1000-yen every times you park not a night. mostly travelers first drop their luggage and continue explore the city.

Really cool spot with interesting events and activities happening every day. The onsen was amazing. Rooms are comfortable if a bit small.

Staff is helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the traditional dance show in the evening. Room was spacious and clean. Liked the amenities provided.

Room was a bit too warm even with air conditioning turned all the way cool either high fan.

The staff was incredibly friendly from the receptionist to the restaurant staff to the parking attendant; they all made us feel welcomed! The dinner was super delicious and we recommend it highly (well worth the price)! The room was clean, comfortable and spacious (the A/C worked great too)! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The bathroom was a little small.

Facilities were great, room was new and well-designed to make the most use of the limited space. I did not feel that there wasn't enough space, even though the size of the room is probably similar to other hotels in general. View from the room was nice too where I could see the mountains in the distance. There was even a website to check how crowded the public bath was in real-time, so you can avoid crowded timings. There was a huge map in the lobby introducing various restaurants and shops nearby, which was helpful for exploring the neighbourhood. Location was good too, near enough to the centre of action and you can technically walk to the Obiyamachi shopping arcade (about 15 mins), though the area does get a little too quiet after sundown. There was a good spread at breakfast, you can have sea bream rice (a famous food in Ehime) and also yuzu french toast (Kochi is famous for yuzu).

Parking fee per night applies and the carpark is a little hard to find (you have to turn behind the hotel and look for the parking attendant).

Double room was spacious and comfortable with a shower and separate toilet. Public bath was nice and clean with indoor and outdoor areas. Free cold drinks offered were refreshing.

Location is a little away from the centre. But iI enjoyed the stay and will stay again.

Very clean new hotel. Spacious outdoor and indoor onsen (hot and cold baths) with sauna room. The Utahe semi-suite was comfortable and nice design with small tatami sitting area.

    9WingPosted on: 4-9-2025

Onsen is good. but too small. if during park hour it will be too crowd

don't like the parking as it is only offer one time entry and need to pay.

Loved our stay. View was amazing from our room. Bed was large and very comfortable. Room was very clean. Good parking on site and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

Vibes of japan when u stay here. Good view from room. Clean. Room decent size.

NO halal food for breakfast. Not even egg. No fruits. Paid for breakfast but starved. Only coffee n mini croissant. We requested the manager if they can prepare just boiled eggs. Request was denied. Not accommodating. If u travel to kochi make sure u carry ur own food.

    4AliasgarPosted on: 1-9-2025

Lobby is decent.Room was average and the beds are very low , so some may not find it comfortable. Bathroom shower area is too small. Room had big windows which gave a nice view.

    1) Overall rigidness of the staff. They will smile & listen to all you have to say and answer is always a NO.2) Parking is a scam..They charge you 1000yen everytime you get in & out. It's not for 24hrs..3) Breakfast is a disaster. requested for boiled eggs or any other egg as most of the food in the breakfast didn't suit us. But the answer was a No , first from the staff and later for the next 2 days , we requested the manager but he smiled & said NO.. so better to book rooms without the breakfast option..the choice is very limited & uninteresting.

    10RitaPosted on: 1-8-2025

Loved this hotel. Artsy design, nightly dance performances near the lobby, nice onsen with very good ginger and tea drinks, and the semi suite design is lovely too.

Not many eateries of walking distance

    10JasminePosted on: 12-25-2024

Very spacious, clean n modern. Bright & hip. Good parking.

Front desk didn’t suggest anywhere we could go for dinner when we checked in. It’s christmas’ eve & also our 34th wedding anniversary.

    7Kuan-TingPosted on: 12-16-2024

    Good breakfast.

The sound insulation is not good, can hear the crying of children in other rooms. Entrance space too small. Not enough clothes hanging space in the room. Not much vacancy for the transportation service to the Sunday market. No transportation service to the shopping street. Two elevators are not enough for a 22 floor hotel.

A really stylish, cheerful, welcoming place. Excellent sento. Lavish breakfast buffet. Enjoyed the evening Yosakoi performance. Loved the town

    10DianePosted on: 11-12-2024

Beautifully designed hotel, minimalist approach, Japanese style, onsen included, ease of check in/out, patient, professional and lovely staff.

Lack of vegetarian food for anyone arriving late and limited choice at breakfast for vegetarians.
