Pros +
- The hotel was quiet and spacious located in a good neighborhood with easy access to both bus and streetcar service.
- It was a cheap stay that did its job. Maybe a cool place to stay for a while and meet people although nobody seemed to hangout.
- I liked the traditional set up of the room.
Cons -
- - the house doesn't have facilities to host the amount of people that stay there - there are 5 rooms that I think can have 3 people each and there is only one toilet and one shower room.- the futon was thin and too hard to sleep on- one of the rooms smelled like charcuterie even after leaving the window open- the house was a bit dirty, and I believe the owner wanted the people staying there to clean it instead of hiring someone to do it...- the house is still pretty far from the center, so it may be difficult for people coming by public transportation to move around especially at night- the walls were thin- the toilet didn't lock
- The bathroom didn't have a light switch, and it was a bit far from the main city center. Also, walking to places like the mall required crossing busy streets. I didn't see any of the staff members except one briefly when I arrived.
- I woke up with several bedbug bites and many red marks over my body. later found two cockroaches under my mattress. I hope the management takes this seriously and addresses the hygiene and pest problems for future guests.

It was close to the train

Though the place was nice, it is dangerous. The host is unclear with his intentions.
The host was friendly at first and entered my room without permission to introduce himself. He offered me alcoholic drinks before kissing me and coming onto me. I was too drunk to remember what happened and had to report to the local authorities. Please be aware for solo female travelers.
Great room size, comfy place especially for what you pay. It's in a quiet neighborhood with the basics around, train connection nearby. Everything is well kept and clean.Highly recommend
The washing machine didn't work too well, and it was challenging to find place for hanging stuff to dry (no dryer). This is only a minor point, for the price it's great they have a washing machine available at all
The location was very convenient, just a few minutes walk from a 7/11 and a Lawson. The tram station was only 3-4 minute walk the opposite direction. The room was pretty spacious, we had room B or the first room on the right upon entering. I really enjoyed the shower and the fact that they had a urinal in the bathroomWe met some nice guests our 2nd night and I had a quick 10-15 minute chat with them. One from the US and one from Canada. The washer and dryer was also free to use.We saw the host twice and he seemed nice both times.
Our first night, some guests came in really late at 1:30 AM and was very very loud. The front door is a bit heavy and loud upon opening, but they slammed it open and then shut. They werent whispering, practically yelling when they came in. They then proceeded to try and open our door multiple times and even hitting it a few times. They eventually found themselves to their room (the next room right after ours on the right handside). We belive maybe they were drunk but we didn't see them to confront them as we left early to Miyajima. There were also a few stains on a towel and bedding set. I believe the stain on the towel came from the washer/dryer as there was that same black mark in there. The beds and pillows were also pretty uncomfortable. My back hurt the next morning and for the pillows you had to fold it in half to notice it. The lock on the bathroom door doesn't latch properly, I saw a few other comments complaining about that but doesn't seem to be fixed yet.
We were supposed to stay in this property but on the day of our check in they sent a message telling me to stay in a different bnb (turns out it is their other property and they call it their annex). We arrived at the location we booked to find a note saying to stay at the "annex" with a pin code to get in. The message they sent me had no pin code, so without going to the original location, we could not have gotten in when we arrived. We never met or spoke to a staff member, though we booked for a Ryokan, not a hostel. The message they sent me also had no address or further information, only, stay at the Nishi- Airbnb hostel. With no information as to why or that this was where our actual stay would be.
Really close to the train station and positively affordable. It's a small old house with a few shared rooms you can stay in. The photon beds are the same as any others.
And there's a kitchen with a fridge, toilet and shower. Non of them are of exceptional quality, I avoided the kitchen and shower all together, but I didn't really expect more for the price. The curtains didn't block the light at all.
He was very nice and the place is only a 3 min walk from the station. Very close to a grocery store and the kitchen was well equipped.
One shower and one toilet for a possible 8 people.
Staying in a ryokan was such a cool experience. The washing/drying machine was free to use. The room was wide and I could easily spread my things out to repack my luggage.
I do wish there had been slippers to wear around the house, as it's quite cold and we were understandably asked to remove our shoes at the front door. Another thing that wasn't ideal was that the lock on the bathroom door didn't always latch fully.
Traditional housing, well equipped, close to a tram station, convenient for a trip to Miyajima
It’s a cute old home in a nice neighborhood close walking distance to a streetcar. Had laundry and a kitchen that was available for use.
Uncomfortable tatami mats compared to other ryokans. Plastic mats covered the much nicer floors underneath. Loud deliveries ag 5am and school kids playing loudly at 7am made it challenging to get a good nights rest.
This is a prewar house, very historical and it is after all a ryokan, so if you are looking for a traditional Japanese house-living experience, definitely stay here. It is in a residential neighborhood, and quite close to the streetcar station by being only a mere 5-minute walk-away. There are I believe three guest rooms, one bathroom, and one shower/sink room. And the price was just unbeatable!
As the house was built prewar, if you want a more comfortable "modern" experience, this place might pose a challenge. All the facility are quite old. There isn't AC outside of bedrooms, so if you are traveling in the summer and you go to the toilet or take a shower or use the kitchen, prepare for the heat! It also is very far (about 11 stops or 30 minutes away) from downtown Hiroshima. Also, note that if you are a solo traveler, you might get a roommate, and there isn't a privacy curtain. Luckily I had wonderful and considerate roommates.
Bathrooms was not good ....the toilet didn't have lock ,our room didn't have proper light ..... One of us didn't get a pillow cover over all it's an ok facility
Terrible
We found a cockroach in our room and the place had an ever present odor, maybe bug spray. The clothes washer which we asked about before deciding to stay there was not usable as it was extremely dirty and looked like if it worked that it would ruin clothing. The shared bathroom had no lock on the door which is not good especially for females when you can't know who else is staying there. The bathtub was such that it was dangerously slippery. The mats that were provided to sleep on were not comfortable, it was like sleeping on the ground. The only person affiliated with this place said almost nothing to us and did not even bother to show us around or say more than a few words to us upon arrival. We left after the first night. We were mislead by the advertising about this place.
Ryokan was clean and comfortable. I was the only one who stayed in first few days. Owner was friendly to talk anytime during my stay. I had a great time running to peace memorial park and castle area in the morning.
Nothing, it would be nicer if the room were a little bit warmer.
The location from public transportation is great which is about a 4 minute walk to the tram. The value is great which provides you with spacious rooms and a traditional Japanese house with shared bath and toilet. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Hiroshima and Miyajimaguchi especially if they want to experience a traditional Japanese home.
I liked how it's a nice Japanese house and if you're heading to Miyajima, then you're relatively close cuz you can take the tram near the hostel. The shower and kitchen area were also nice. You can cook if you want, and I guess if you don't have dust allergies, then the tatami rooms would be OK. Be sure to bring meds for allergies though. It could also be noisy cuz of the wooden floors, and basically because it's a hostel.
The owner replied late to my queries about the hostel's location. I asked ahead of time about it but then had to message several times on the app AND email just to get a reply. I was also NOT informed that I had to move rooms on the 2nd night (I was staying for 3 days 2 nights) SO I came home really tired and was very surprised to find my futon and stuff missing AND three people in the room WHO were already sleeping and I unfortunately woke them up. I had to call the owner to find out I had to use a different room that night. He told me he messaged me on the app, but OF COURSE, being outside, I couldn't check it. I wish that he was more organized about the booking, and that I was informed ahead of time.
First of all hisaya the host is so nice ! The shower is amazing and sleeping on the ground wasn't bad it was quit comfortable. The Ryokan itself is equipped and has a home feeling to it. If you plan to mostly visit in miyajima island then the location is amazing rather then staying in the center
The location lacks of night life and you need to walk alot to find somewhere to eat or 711 but it's bearable
