    Pros +

    • The room was clean, and it was very near the Peace Park.
    • Cozy room for a single person. Good location near the Atom Bomb Memorial. Amazing price.
    • The Ryokan was well situated near to the Peace park which is what we wanted to see. Also good restaurants in and around the Ryokan.

    Cons -

    • The owners are very rude, and mostly unavailable. Had to pound on the bell, and finally go around behind the desk and yell to get their attention. No wifi access. Only a LAN cable, so could not use my iPhone for internet.
    • TV didn't seem to work.
    • The room was too small and no place for our suitcases. The futon/mattress was not comfortable and neither were the pillows. There was nowhere to even sit down.

The rooms are nice and cozy, and the staff was so nice and lovely. The location is great, nice and quiet; but close enough to walk to downtown Hiroshima.

No criticisms, I loved Ikawa Ryokan!

Room was simple but with private bathroom which was very convenient, and you could walk directly into the room with all the luggage.

Breakfast was not offered, and the staff was correct but not very enthusiastic.

Easy to locate. Good location for sightseeing. Host provided a kimono style dressing gown and slippers each. Nice touch.

    Nothing springs to mind.

    No natural light in halllway

They had coin operated washer and dryer and a small eating area (which they were very clear that you need to pay so they will make your dinner). The tatami floor was very very comfortable to use but I find that the heating inside the room was quite weak and it takes very long to reach a steady temperature. The staff was extremely extremely kind. Words cannot describe how guilty I felt when I fell sick and dirtied their tatami floor a bit. The lady at the counter spoke very good english and she helped me wipe down the floor to get rid of the smell.

The first night of my stay, the ladies common bath was unfortunately not open. I guess the staff forgot to prepare for it. Unfortunately, after that I fell sick and was unable to use it for my entire stay. The place was very very close to the atomic bomb museum and dome but quite far from the other main city attractions such as the castle. I didn’t mind the walk though, until I fell sick.

Wonderful staff, traditional tatami room with futon and plenty of warm blankets. The room was cold but I slept quite well, bundled up and cozy. Exceptionally clean, well stocked bathroom and a blow dryer too!

Great beds, most comfortable futon I've ever slept on. The building was also great and secure. Additionally the location was amazing, only a few minute walk from the memorial park.

    Great location and clean

Last day my floor was without wifi and during that night the guy at reception didnt do anything, I asked if he could call someone and just said -no, sorry-

    10ZinellePosted on: 10-29-2024

It was as advertised. Simple, clean and quiet. And good location.

The shared shower appears to be for everyone. As a solo female traveler, I would have appreciated a female-only shower. But it turned out to be fine.

    7BernardPosted on: 10-14-2024

Small Japanese style room near the Peace Paek. Very clean with friendly staff.

The room has a distinct smell that appears to come from the floor mats. I kept the windows open to aiir out 5he room which helped with the smell

    9YohanssenPosted on: 9-3-2024

The location is very strategic, as it is near the atomic bomb museum. Additionally, the staff is friendly. They are willing to explain things in English and wait for me even if I'm a bit late for check-in.

Because the single room in the tatami mat it has a little bit of a smell, but it's okay for me. Maybe better ventilation is needed

    10RainPosted on: 8-21-2024

The location was perfect. I could walk to the Peace Park, Museum, and the Atomic Dome. It was a 5-minute walk from a bus stop and a street car station, so I could get anywhere in the city that I wanted. The accommodation was clean and included a great shower and complimentary yukata and tea. The people were nice, too.

    Nothing at all.

    9JoshPosted on: 8-4-2024

Pretty close to the HIroshima peace memorial, which is the only thing I actually cared about seeing. Which is actually pretty close to the Hondori, which I discovered was amazing and spent the entire day walking through.Great Ryokan experience. The bed was thicker than I was expecting, meaning more comfortable than just a sheet on the ground. Unit had A/C and multiple outlets. It has a Luup station right outside, so it was easy to grab that and travel to the memorial.

They don't have wifi in the lobby, so after i checked out at 10am and came downstairs to figure out where to go, there was no wifi to use.
