The hallway light gets through the old doors right on our face. the birds flying over the food and occasionally flying too close of coming so close to our food. Although birds are nice to see, it is not appropriate to have them in the food area.

The breakfast was 90% bread and cakes pastries. I would prefer more healthy options

I liked the ambience of the historic hotel, it's nice that it was built in 1929 and preserved some furniture and objects of that time. The rooms are spacious as well the batchroom.Hotel is in a very good location, it's close to the Cassino (which there are some guided tours) and the Antonio Carlos baths (hotel offers disconunts on the services there).There is sulfurous water pool inside that is hot.

The mattres was too soft for my preference

Lack of electric outlets in the room. There were only two. One in the bathroom and one in the bedroom and the small fridge was plugged to this one. Luckily, an adapter was provided and we were able to charge our phone without unplugging the fridge.

Very traditional setting at the heart of the city.

It can get a bit noisy depending on where your room is located.

Rooms are large, with high ceilings, decorated with vintage furniture. The bathrooms are huge. The wi-fi works well. The in-house restaurant is good value with plenty of choice. The property location is central and within easy reach of shops, thermal baths and other city attractions. The property is surrounded by beautiful and well tended gardens.

The property is old and in urgent need of a thorough cleaning and redecoration. The ‚double‘ beds in the larger rooms we took are very small and do not fit two adults. We found the bedsheets in one of the rooms to be dirty and they had to be changed twice before we got clean ones. The carpets throughout the property are old and dirty. The wall paint is peeling. The pool and sauna areas are also in need of modernisation.

Liked:Loved the location by the park and near the Municipal Market and next door to the Thermas Antônio Carlos.Breakfast was otherworldly - worth staying just for that.The indoor courtyard is beautiful.The heated indoor pool with thermal waters was very convenient to use but closes from 13 hrs to 15 hrs for cleaning.Disliked:The amenities in the room - only one bath towel per person and one toilet roll.Hotel advises paid parking nearby but there seems to be street parking at the back of the hotel (which used to be the front of the hotel).

Breakfast had a variety of selection menu. The dinner selection was great and affordable. The old atmosphere of the hotel is priceless. The Toscana Garden is charming. We specifically enjoyed the sulfur pool and the wellness massage relaxation. We made a lot of friends in the pool. This was a wonderful trip for my 89 years old mom and me to celebrate her 90s next year.

The Palace Hotel is a historic building. We want to enjoy its beauty but respect its limitation. They are remodeling room by room. Since this is an almost 100-year-old building, this process has been slow. The main red corridor carpet going to the room could have been replaced a long time ago.

The hotel is super classic, it's been there for a century. The structure is really big, so the rooms are large and comfortable. Some renovation was made, but you can feel it is somehow old - which is very nice. The thermal water pool, the gardens, the architecture, the restaurant, the service and the location are great advantages. It is very beautiful, I recommend it!

The place is old and classic, so don't expect a modern hotel. It is a perfect place to rest, enjoy and relax, but sometimes it can be noisy because of the location (downtown and the square). Also, the rooms are not so clean, but it is acceptable.

Expected a bit more modern comforts for the price you pay.

Breakfast was good. I eat a reduced carb diet, so the eggs were an important part of it for me. But the pastries are tasty. Loved the massages and the pool. We enjoyed staying in Room 504, but were disappointed that we could not get a roll-away bed for my grandson. The large bed was too small for 3 people. Really only a 4-person room.

Appreciated the valet parking but had to wait more than 20 minutes once for the car.

It is centrally located, very close to the main attractions of the city. Has a nice ambiance, of old times hotel, with 1920 furniture, telephone booths, nice old thermal swimming pool facilities, including thermal baths and massages. Around the hotel entrance you will find many local stores, cafes, selling local product like cheese, cachaca, and clothes. The chocolate store is also great!

The parking is very confusing, there is no space to park when doing checking, very narrow street, and it takes along time to the valet to bring your car ( valet paid R$38,00 / per night stay). All the facilities of the hotel including bar area closes at 10PM, the restaurant closes at 9PM. If you want a drink with friends, like we intended to do, you will need to find another place.

I traveled with my mother, for her 83th birthday and at the check in I asked the attendant if it would be possible to have a birthday cake to commemorate my mother 's birthday on Saturday, during dinner time, which he agreed, that made my mother very happy and anxious for Saturday's dinner.But on Saturday during our dinner, no birthday cake was offered by the Palace Hotel, very disappointing ?.
